A double?
One person was killed and another wounded tonight in a shooting on the South Side in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said.
As of 8:30 p.m., a body was lying slumped over on a sidewalk near yellow tape in front of a computer repair shop.
The shooting occurred at 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of 59th Street and Francisco Avenue, according to police News Affairs...
Not quite a double. They're holding off on declaring the second at the moment.

Can you imagine if they wanted to start up another specialized unit like TRU or MSF. This is the ONLY way that I have seen in my 20+ on the job that can actually deal with putting brute force on hot spots.
The problem with starting up another task force type unit is the personnel that would go to it.
You have those who won't go because of how they were treated last time and dumped into the shit holes. Then you have those who got there spots backand don't want lose them again.
What you have are the PO'S in the shitty districts on the south and west sides who would gladly leave these hell holes to work in an outside unit causing yet again a vacumn of spots to be filled in these district.
They could make it MERIT based! Yeah that's the ticket. Merit based like they did for Fugitive unit. Everyone submits their resume, and we read them CAREFULLY to make sure they're legit, yeah, yeah,! Then we can do alllllll these interviews, yeah, . . yeah, that's it. Then we'll put the people in the unit that are still all phone calls.
But at least they had to do a resume and interview to make it look REAL ! !Resume and interview, yeah, . . yeah, . . That's the ticket.

Besides, overall crime is down 11% right? As long as you can add every possible act of non-compliance to the totals and call it crime reduction the murders and shooting aren't really so bad, right?
Even CNN knows the murders are pretty much confined to "just a couple areas of the city" . There are whole swaths of the city that have no murders. You know where the criminals are to busy robing, burglarizing and raping to be bothered shooting each other. The happy hunting grounds of predatory tribes.

Emanuel Gets Contracts Done With 2 Smaller Unions
Service Employees International Union Local 73 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 21 workers agreed to wage increases totaling 6 percent over the next four years, the officials said. Parking and traffic aides and 911 emergency center workers are among those the unions represent.
The city employees also would get lump-sum payments of $150 to $500 after agreeing to forgo raises last year and this year because of the city's financial straits.
Brandon said union members would have liked bigger raises but understood the reality of tough budget times.
"With what was available to us in negotiations, I think we got the best deal we could possibly get," said Brandon, who added that his members approved the deal by a ratio of 4-1.
The workers stand to get 1.5 percent increases Jan. 1 and at the start of 2014. They also would get 1 percent raises at the start of 2015, in July 2015 and at the start of 2016. The contract would expire in mid-2016.
