A 15-year-old boy was fatally wounded this afternoon steps away from his home on the South Side in the city's Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Jaime Ruvalcaba of the 1900 block of West 47th Street was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m. at Stroger Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The medical examiner's office said he was shot in the same block where he leaves, but preliminary reports from police listed him as being shot in the 4600 block of South Wolcott Avenue.

Had a 10-year old shot in 017 tonight. Will probably live, but still, when are the gangbanging baby daddies going to wake up and realize they are maiming and killing their own kids whether or not they pull the trigger? Or do they even care...

I want out of this fucking city. They talk about our pennision as if we are greedy little bastards. These shootings are killing the buget of this state, county and city. When will the people of this democratic state realize we can't afford the life style of a "Thugs life" anymore. The drive by media is soooo in love with the POTUS and the democrats of this state it's reminds of a communistic news paper that will only report the parties agenda. We are fucked as a nation when the non workers of this country drive better cars , wear better clothes then the people that work and pay th taxes to keep them in their life style . What will really piss off Rahm is the fact that Chicago is the lead story in the NRA Magazine, Freedom First. The title is: "Chicago on pace to replace Washington D.C. as the murder capital of the U.S. Move Over D.C." Consider that Rahm hates the NRA because of their conflict over the Brady Bill when Rahm was Chief of Staff for Bubba. Now this. McCarthy is in trouble.

Would someone please tell the hipster transplant reporter that 1900 West 47th and 4600 South Wolcott intersect? I'm tired and beyond tired of crime beat reporters who can't tell what neighborhood they're in without Googling a realtor site.
He wasn't the Chief of Staff under Bubba. The position he held was Assistant to the President for Political Affairs and then Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy.
