July Numbers?
Yesterday we speculated that McJerseyShore and Rahm would be touting the decrease in the increase of homicide numbers as compared to July 2011 as soon as tonight. Evidently, the gangs weren't informed of the pending press conference and chest thumping:
- Two men were killed and seven other people were wounded, including a 16-year-old boy, in shootings on the West and South sides overnight, police said.

The small reduction of July 2012 homicides vs 2011 is easily explained.
July 2011 had five full weekends an July 2012 had only four weekends.
Meanwhile August 2012 is opening with a BANG!! BANG-BANG!
Uh, uh, uh. We have, uh, this decrease of the decrease and, uh, we, uh. We have a plan to put more cops on the dots and, uh, new paradigm. And, uh, it's too hot on the beach near the cool water.
They won't look foolish since the media will not report an increase only a "decrease".

Slighty off-topic, but just saw on the news the Chick-fil-a story where people were lined up around the block in the city and throughout the parking lot out in Schaumburg. I love it. Homicides and shootings happening at an alarming rate but you're worried about a restaurant owner's private opinion on gay marriage. 9.5 and proctological Joe, you are complete and utter morons. And these are our "leaders". It's no wonder that we are in this sorry-ass state.

I'm sorry to hear that, it"s just terribly awful. I stopped being a proactive/ aggresive police officer years ago. With 13yos on the job, I'm only doing what is required, I will do nothing more nor less that is required of me. I can't comprehend chancing my future or my family security to appease anyone on this department, for the sake generating activity. If this is true, 21 coppers being fired, my heart goes out to them and their families.....

I tried to takes my kids there yesterday. The crowd was nuts. The line was out of the big lot down Golf. All the way to the next busy street. There were employees on the side of Golf taking order for the people waiting patiently in their cars. I regret not going in to eat, but my little ones would not sit still that long.
Is there still a crime lab?
Im not a detective or anything...but july last year had 5 Saturdays as oppose to 4 this year....

Someone up on the 5th Floor at City Hall must have been real embarrassed and decided to unleash his police hating crew at IPRA on the Chicago Police Department. Those coppers in 020 did NOT deserve to get stripped. They are in a no pay status as well. The beef they got stripped over was from 2006, and they all got Rule 14. Nobody at IPRA or City Hall cares that these 4 coppers in 020 are good, family men. The City has declared war on the CPD. Nobody should be doing anything proactive anymore. Answer your calls, back each other up, and pull the damn RD # for the 041A when the shitheads shoot each other. That's it. There is NOTHING on this job worth losing your career over. I'm done, and so should everybody else. The example has been set for all of us.

I heard 6 PO's and 1 sergeant from 2nd district tact team all got stripped in no pay status for absolute bullshit. WTF

What is the statute of limitations on these bullshit brutality or any kind of beefs that IPRA/IAD can go back and jam us on?
Just curious...
I am hearing stories of "re-hashing" old beefs. Since there is this entity like IPRA to investigate and limited proactivity from us may mean less work for them.
Is IPRA low on caseloads?
Is someone trying to justify manpower over there or is there some sort of politcial witchhunt?
BE CAREFUL Boys and Girls that work still proactively because they like the stats but they don't and won't like you as you become successful and obtain beefs doing it....
