OK, who put the Romney bumper sticker on the Commander's ride? This just came through from a gold star fan of ours:
- Please ensure a supervisor visually inspects EVERY vehicle assigned to your district or parked at your facility by 0900 hours tomorrow morning. It has been raised that there may be a vehicle or two that have non-approved items affixed. Anything found will be removed immediately. If the item cannot be removed it will be transported to the appropriate garage where the vehicle will be taken out of service until the item can be removed.
Unless they're talking about that Direct TV dish we had installed the other day?

I guess they haven't noticed the "Rahm, Stop Chokin' My Chick-Fil-A" bumper sticker that might be affixed to another--ahem--boss's car?
The mayor was being driven through the district in which he lives when he saw a marked C.P.D. vehicle with a "Romney" sticker on it. The mayor wrote down the vehicle number and called the head of M.M. or that person's boss. The mayor demanded that Motor Maint. conduct an investigation to find out who the officer was who was driving around with that sticker on his/her vehicle. (The mayor said C.P.D. could not be trusted to conduct their own investigation so M.M. should do it.) The mayor made it clear that someone's head was going to roll for this! First one car was called in to be inspected by M.M. When it was discovered that vehicle did not have said sticker, another vehicle was called in. Thus began Sticker-gate, the latest drama in 019.
So, if I....err....somebody... puts a bumper sticker on my car that I can't remove I get to...err...have to... spend a few hours at motor maintenance instead of chasing paper jobs? Pass the glue!

Way too funny, seems a few squads in 019 had Romney bumper stickers on them and the mayor seen them while patroling around his house. He made a call and Shazam!, cars were directed to the area for sticker removal.
Will the trunks be inspected for golf clubs? Are those authorized items?
I got the idea while I was swimming the other morning. I contacted the Romney camp and they jumped at the chance to give back to the community.
I saw a Cook county Sheriff unmarked squad being driven by a black boss with a Hugh Obama sticker on the trunk. It had to be his take home car. I guess those are OK in this county.

I always thought the stickers on the back of the wagon "Driver Carries No Cash" was always funny.
Now if they only showed so much concern and care about the hundreds of squads that are held together with duct tape and coat hangers. The ones witht he holes in the floor boards, non functioning sirens and lights, no a/c, missing cat coverter/exhuast system floor heat shields. I just love melting my work boots to the floor board of the cars. Maybe they can fix the copy machine so I dont have to make copies of my report at the library or travel to 3 different districts before I can find a dope bag.
Drama in 019! shooting in roll call by a couple of "chosen ones" then a crime scene that was so fucked up that operation command had to call the commander to see what the hell was up, now this bumper sticker fiasco.
I believe it was a Mitt supporter that figured they had a few hundered roving billboards. I'm sure that no police officer would intentionally violate any policy or directive of this once great department. It must have been someone tired of the corruption and greed of the current political system. Guess I should take the Vote No to HJRCA 49 sign out of my car them huh? Na!
