Mounted Unit

WGN did a nice piece on the Mounted Unit the other day.

Here's a link to the story.

The Marquez family meeting the horse bearing Donny's name is especially touching.

Great story - caught it live - the reporter said it took her years to get this done, so kudos for sticking with it.

I watched this live the other night, awesome. After it was shown, the reporter had stated that she had tried for 10 YEARS to get this story approved.

10 flipping years to show the Police in a good light.

Good story about a great idea and a dedicated group of Chicago Police Officers.
Yet another reminder to Honor Our Fallen and to keep their surviving Gold Star Family members in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
Makes me proud to have served over 40 years, 'ondajob.'

I also liked WGN's coverage during NATO. Rob Jordan and Allison Payne were real-time judging accurate and appropriate use of force. 'That guy there is clearly getting arrested for the punch he threw' etc. Basically, they were going to perpuate any claims of misconduct when clearly there were troublemakers in the group and given loads more opportunity to leave than ever normally given,

Speaking of the mounted units, they arrested two teenagers for the recent incident at the police stables. Apologies if you've already covered this. /LN

Kudos to Judie Garcia for finally getting this story on the air...I hope they throw the book at those morons if they are convicted.
