JJJr Facing Prison?
- Sneed has learned U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who handily won re-election Tuesday despite a lengthy stay at Mayo Clinic for depression and bipolar disorder, is in the midst of plea discussions with the feds probing his alleged misuse of campaign funds.
“No one has pled guilty, but plea discussions are ongoing,” said a top Sneed source, who said Jackson is still undergoing treatment at Mayo Clinic.
Sneed is also told Jackson, who returned to Mayo Clinic after undergoing outpatient treatment in the seclusion of his home in Washington, D.C., is not only being investigated for allegedly using campaign funds to decorate his Washington home — but also Sneed hears he may also have used campaign funds to buy a $40,000 Rolex watch as a gift for a female friend.
Anyone who thinks the Chicago media didn't delay or bury this story for weeks, maybe even months prior to the election is a moron. We had rumors in our comment section for the past few weeks that JJJr was negotiating with the feds and the Mayo hospital stay was merely cover for this scandal.
We know the media reads this site, None of them could have looked around? Given voters the chance to cast their ballots based on this info? Oh, but that would deny Madigan, Quinn and/or Rahm the chance to appoint a US Representative that they could control.
The media is part and parcel of the problem in Illinois. They fail to do their duties as "watchdogs" day in and day out. This is merely the most glaring and obvious example.

I was told ALL retiree health care questions were to be answered by the FOP's attorney, Krislov Clinton. Why do I have to go through an attorney to get my health care question answered? How much of our dues pays for each phone call he receives? Does anyone know why the FOP has hired this attorney to answer simple health care questions?
That would give me stomach problems too!

OT update from NY. We are having a tough time since sandy brothers. There is so much destruction in coastal neighborhoods. Over 1500 active cops lost their homes or suffered major loss. These same cops are working 0400-1600 or 1600-0400 tours since the storm. These tours usually end up going 15-16 hours. We are all stretched to the breaking point. The affected MOS dont even have time to take care of their families. Its been a tough stretch. Almost as bad as 9/11. Why would the FOP answer any questions about health care coverage ? Call your provider for that answer. The only question they might answer if it is going away next year ( I doubt this).

That lawyer is not an FOP attorney, FOP pays him/them nothing. FOP has no involvement in retiree health care, that is handled by the pension board. His name is Clint Krislov of Krislov Law. They took on the retiree health care case for zip, nada, nothing, essentially. I don't know if retirees kicked in any money or not but I do not believe FOP paid them anything. I could be wrong.
They take on class action suits. No way FOP or the retirees could pay them, the City pays them when the City loses. There will be additional litigation when the Korshak decision expires if something equitable is not replacing it.
The only place in the contract where there are contractual guarantees for retiree health care is the over 55 health care agreement and the over 60 health care agreement.
All other retiree health care is done via the Korshak decision. If you call the pension board and they cannot answer the question they will do the same thing, give you Krislov's phone number. Pension Board deals with basic stuff. What coverage will be after next year etc. is best answered by Krislov.
They are good attorney's and the only thing retirees have going who are not under one of the agreed provisions covering retiree health care.

App. unpublished order, (1st Dist. 2000), obtained injunctive relief, and ultimately obtained a settlement which ensures annuitant healthcare coverage through 2013 and beyond for Chicago Police, Firemen, Municipal Employees and Laborers.

Issues here might strike home to you. Tell your friends as this site will be closing shortly. The Mayor reads this as so does the Inspector General as this gives this administration ideas to save money.

What's Happening in 2013
The rumors are flowing regarding what's going to happen when the Korshak settlement expires.
This latest settlement was a ten year agreement, which is currently set to expire on June 30, 2013.
The Retiree Healthcare Benefits Committee has been meeting to try and come up with a new settlement agreement. The Committee's job is to come up with a recommendation regarding the amount retirees would pay toward health insurance after the current agreement
expires. The Committee has been discussing who would be eligible, what the plan design would be for Medicare and Non-Medicare retirees, resource allocation decisions and how it will be financed. Once these decisions have been made, a recommendation
will be made to the Mayor.
If the parties involved can't come to an agreement then more than likely the retirees and the
City will be back in court.
The Lodge will continue to monitor this committee and keep members informed of any developments.
There are several classes of retirees determined by when they actually retired.

Detroit -- A customer at a restaurant on the southwest side fatally shot one of two men attempting to rob the place Wednesday night after one of the suspects shot the owner, police said.
Two men attempted to rob Adi's Coney Island at 10:10 p.m. on the 6100 block of Michigan Avenue. The would-be muggers shot the restaurant's owner and grazed another man.
A 51-year-old customer, who had a concealed pistol license, pulled out a gun and returned fire, killing one of the assailants, who was 29 years old.
The other alleged robber fled the scene, police said.
The owner and other victim were listed in stable condition.
Police say it's up to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office whether any charges will be filed against the customer.
Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor's Office, said that it hasn't received any details on the incident as of 10 a.m. Charges could be filed if the office receives a request for a warrant, she said.
"I will faithfully discharge my duties against all enemies foreign and domestic."
It seems the quantity of domestic enemies is sharply on the rise.

I have to agree partially with this writer. The voters, black white and hispanic, in Madigans district reelected him again despite the fact he is most responsible for the downfall of this state and has caused more harm then the entire Jackson family.
