Anita Gets Hammered

And in doing so, fulfills here primary function - keeping the heat away from City Hall:
  • It wasn’t long ago that Anita Alvarez was seen as a rising star.

She rose from within the prosecutorial ranks to become the first woman and first Hispanic to hold the powerful post of Cook County state’s attorney but was still viewed by many as having an independent streak.

She won re-election with ease in November and was said not long ago to be in line for a judgeship.

But in the past two weeks, Alvarez has suffered two major embarrassments.

Last week, a special prosecutor announced an indictment against Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko, a nephew of former Mayor Richard M. Daley, for involuntary manslaughter in the 2004 death of David Koschman — a case in which Alvarez had declined to file charges, saying there wasn’t enough evidence. Alvarez also argued that an outside prosecutor wasn’t needed. Now, the grand jury led by special prosecutor Dan K. Webb, a former U.S. attorney appointed by a judge, continues to investigate whether criminal charges should be filed against anyone from Alvarez’s office or the Chicago Police Department over their handling of the case.

The second embarrassment for Alvarez came Sunday on national television. A CBS “60 Minutes” segment, recorded six months ago, put a spotlight on Cook County as the capital of documented false confessions. The U.S. Department of Justice has opened an inquiry into the interrogation practices in Cook County.
Gee, only two embarrassments? We guess no one in the media  has been paying attention the past few years. The lack of effective prosecutions, the parade of plea bargains, the complete lack of follow-up on convicted felons serving less than 33% of their time for violent crime, and of course, keeping her mouth shut while the list of parolees committing more crime grows by leaps and bounds, all while spouting the party line on numerous subjects.

If the media did their jobs and vetted actual candidates instead of being part-and-parcel of the Illinois Combine, we might actually have qualified people running things in certain offices.

What about Fat Phil's friendship with mobster Rick Simon?

Fast Phil introduced Superintendent Garry Mc Carthy to his good friend Rick Simon too.

Does anyone think JFed would become compromised by Fat Phil's friendly introductions?

Didn't Superintendent Matt Rodriguez resign after his friendship with mobster Frank Malito became publicly disseminated information?

How son will Garry resign?

12/12/2012 02:17:00 AM

Yes, of course the CPD does the 'investigations.' But only the Cook County States Atty's office has the authority to APPROVE these type of charges. The CCSA (Felony Revue/Approval Office) dictates 'what type' of additional evidence or investigation is necessary or required before THEY decide the charges.
It's the CCSA that decided NOT to charge Vaneko with 'anything' or request any further investigation.
Perhaps Webb's G.J. should subpoena ALL the phone records from the CCSA initial investigator at Felony Revue, then follow that phone tree of the individuals from that office all the way up to the top and back down again.
Bring every one of them in front of the G.J., bring up their phone connection(s) sequence to the case then ask them,"Who knew what and when."
That would bring every level of the politically connected CCSA office into the decision picture and hold them accountable.
Follow the clout.
Naw, it's easier to just blame the police. Move along now.

Until her masters running the criminal-political media cabal under the auspices of Daley Inc. and Rahm & Co. decide she's expendable...

Tick-Muthafuckin'-Tock!

How does it feel to see YOUR dreams and aspirations fall over and explosively decay to a screaming, flailing skeleton right before your eyes?

One more forcibly revealed highly orchestrated bit of fuckery with this case and the political-criminal media cabal will be forced to cannibalize one/some of their own for ALL to see...

I cant fault most of the investigators involved in these cases with documented false confessions unless: they fed the case information to suspects or they lied to them telling them they will go home if they confess, or they beat the crap out of them or held them for days. Most of the investigators use common interview techniques and are ethical. However, for those who are not and bring confessions to a felony review attorney and the felony review attorney cannot see through this ( as it seems to be the case) then i fault the states attorney. Stop using the tactic of writing out the confession for the suspect to sign. Bring back court reporters that come to the area.
