Bus Shooting

  • A teen was shot while riding a school bus after a Chicago Public Schools basketball game in the South Side Englewood neighborhood Monday evening, police said.

The bus, which was transporting a basketball team following the game, was near West 62nd Street and South Stewart Avenue about 7:53 p.m. when three or four gunman aimed at the vehicle and opened fire, said police News Affairs [...].

The 18-year-old male, who is a student, was struck by a bullet in left leg and was the only shooting victim, police said. Police said the bus driver drove the teen to Provident Hospital of Cook County, where he is listed in good condition.
Shooting up a school bus? In Englewood? That sounds tailor-made for half a dozen politicos and "reverend" Pfleger. There should be marches, protests, speeches, etc.

Perfect! We will have squad cars escort them to and from school and sporting events. And then also escort their funerals. Sounds like another overtime initiative in the making

Everyone knows that the best place to shoot at a school bus is in a school zone where there are speed trap cameras.

Knowing that there is no way to beat the corrupt speed trap camera's fines the drivers are forced to drive slower else risk their careers and that makes them a better target.

It's "for the children" they say. It's been their mission from day one they say. However no-one has thought about the unintended consequences now have they?

No Cease Fire Street Friar crew in site and not a lick of accountability by the city council or the mayor for the million dollars of taxpayer money that was pissed away on them.

Why is this acceptable?

Who in their right mind awards a million dollar handout with nothing to show in return, nothing to answer to?

That's our money!! There's nothing, nothing to show for it. NOTHING.

It should have gotten bigger play... especially since SEVERAL kids were supposed to be shot.

That's right.

Ceasefire worked their magic so only ONE got shot and the others went home safe, instead.

You'd think the mayor would give more praise to these fine felons from Ceasefire when he can finally, tangibly, justify where our million dollars went!

Well, I'm giving credit where credit is due...

Thank you Rahm, for making these ex-felons heroes of their community and giving the rest their ilk the same desire to fleece our government out of our tax dollars as Obama has encouraged them all to do.

And thank you Ceasefire, for, at an incredibly bargain price, continuing to work hard and save our children from the violence of the ghetto, in Obama the savior's name, Amen!

The Media was too busy ignoring the Union thugs in Michigan to bother with another ghetto shooting. Chicago Media, bought and paid for.

Yes! We should have a march! Those always seem to help. If we can couple that march with new taxes and some free cell phones for the unfortunate welfare class, it'll be a perfect event.

Hi, my name Revrun Goletooth and I represent an organization called CommenceFire. We want to help the children by providing hand gun training and their first semi-automatic pistol. Please send 1 million to my home address. It's for the children.

In Germany during Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1991, DODDS school buses initially had MPs with M9 pistols and M16A2 rifles and were escorted by MP vehicles. The MPs were replaced by soldiers from a combat engineer battalion (armored and machinegun-armed HUMVEEs became the escort vehicles), so some of the buses had soldiers with M249 SAWs and M9 pistols! This was trumpeted in the Frankfurt am Main newspapers.

Sure dissuaded any attacks on American school buses by German anti-war protesters!

Maybe the CPS can pay for door gunners for their buses!

This is so sad you know guys, let's see how funny this would be if a kid from St. Rita or mount! Carmel got shot I played at Austin high school and thank GOD no one shot at my bus. You guys make jokes about everything, yeah these kids are bad as hell out here, but dont make fun of a kid playing ball and getting shot on bus that's not right I pry that no police officer kid never gets hurt like that. Lots of us police came from fucked up neighborhoods and we stayed active in sports, so we wouldn't get caught up in the gang SHIT.

In any other City, a SCHOOL BUS getting shot and a kid getting shot would be headline news, demanding action.. here its not news, not crime, no one is outraged, nothing to see here, crime is down, get those speed caameras up, sit in your boxes, take no actions, hidden in a small article on page 17 of the newspapers.
WTF is wrong with the LEADERS of this CITY!!!!
