Gun Insanity?

We've seldom seen a more ignorant approach to the issue of gun violence, but the head of the Illinois Education Association gives all ignoramus's a run for their money:
  • The state's largest teachers union Tuesday ridiculed an idea floated by the head of an Illinois gun-rights group to allow educators to carry weapons to makes schools safer and perhaps prevent a Newtown massacre from happening here.

"It's ridiculous to think bringing guns into a school or classroom would somehow make that area safer," said Charlie McBarron, a spokesman for the Illinois Education Association. "It's hard to understand how a sane person could make that serious suggestion."
Really?  Maybe because an actual scary insane person just slaughtered  a classroom full of children.  A single trained police officer, security guard or concealed carry holder may have spared many families unimaginable grief.
  • On Monday, the head of the Illinois State Rifle Association said he would favor legislation that would permit school boards to authorize principals, teachers and even custodial employees to carry weapons in the classroom if they underwent training.

Richard Pearson, the group's executive director, told the Chicago Sun-Times that all Illinois schools should have an armed security guard at a minimum and that arming school staff might have stopped the Connecticut shootings.

"Had there been a teacher who was armed, this wouldn't have happened," Pearson said.
Those are the words of someone looking for an actual solution, Someone who is open to discussion on the issue.  Someone who isn't looking for a "gotcha"-type headline unwilling to discuss the fact that bad people do bad things on occasion and that to actually find a solution, thinking outside the narrow-minded liberal box is a good thing.
  • But McBarron said it's vital to ensure that schools are secure, and that means no tolerance for drugs or guns of any kind.

"Schools are a safe place. Bringing weapons into school would make them less so," McBarron said. "To suggest otherwise is disingenuous."
Wow. The disconnect there is fucking amazing. Sandy Hook was not a safe place as demonstrated last week. It wasn't secure enough. And creating an entire building full of victims isn't the way to "win" an argument of this type.

UPDATE: Dear Dumbshit bringing up police station shootings,

Yes, it has happened everywhere, even police stations.

The difference is that police officers are armed and trained to respond......to fight back.

Did you see 20 police officers herded into a corner and executed by a single insane lunatic?  Apples and oranges Asshat.

Now go get your shine box you simple minded tool of the lib-tarded leftist bent on destroying this country.

BTW, how does Rahm's ass taste?

Texas school’s ‘Guardian Plan’ allows teachers to have guns

In a report from CBS Dallas Fort Worth, superintendent David Thweatt says the district's "Guardian Plan" is a way of taking charge in the chaos of a potential shooting. Teachers are the true first responders, Thweatt says. "We need to be here to protect our children. Not four, five minutes or six minutes from now."

"In an interview with Fox News, Thweatt said, "As educators, we don't have to be police officers and learn about Miranda rights and related procedures. We just have to be accurate."

US Should Follow Israel's Lead on Armed Teachers

By Bill Hoffmann

"This startling photo of an armed teacher watching over Israeli schoolchildren has struck a chord with...readers who, reeling over the Newtown school massacre, say Israel has the right idea when it comes to protecting kids.

“The Israelis have it right. A psychopath would have to be crazy indeed to attack a school where everybody knows that the teachers are armed,’’ writes reader Allen Kenyon of Wisconsin."

so, according to this delusionist's thinking, if we'd just remodel all schools to be as secure as a bank safe, ie., no windows, only a single entrance/exit, with a door being made of 6" thick concrete reinforced steel, precisely duplicating, at a minimum, the most secure safety deposit box structures, then, minus the bank guards and put a time lock on the single entrance/exit door, said door being automatically opened and closed on a set time cycle, (to remove the possibility of any human being controlling the opening of said door, because, of course, no human being can be ever really trustworthy), then, and only then would we no longer have to concern ourselves with the inconvenient fact that these 'gun-free safe zones' aren't actually safe?

Putting up a GUN-FREE zone sign is good enough ain't it?

We did all we could. The sign is right there, it's big enough for everyone to see.

Besides if a person ignores that sign we are going to bring him to justice with our Broken Window crime methodology and he/she is gonna be spending YEARS in jail!

We'll lock 'em up!

Heh, that's enough to deter anyone from violating that law....except for maybe the person that already accepted that the actions he/she is about to pursue is going to end up in their death.

How do you deter that with a law or a ban?

Hey jackazzes promoting the gun-phobia. The mass murderers see that Gun-Free zone as a welcome sign. No-one is going to be shooting back there that's for sure.

Now some of these clowns are bringing up the Fort Hood shootings. Yeah, see..our soldiers shouldn't have access to these guns..see, see, see what happens?

The Mexico drug cartels are chomping at the bit for this new revenue stream I'll bet. Assault weapon exports. When are we shutting down the border Rahm? When? A gun is about at easy to bring into the country as drugs. All the black market infrastructural is already there.

Hey, Charlie.... Riddle me this one: At the exact time that the horrific incident happened in Connecticut, I happened to be in a Grammar School right here in Chicago. I’m betting that there were at the least 7 to 8 guns in the school at that time. Guess what Charlie, nothing, not a damned thing happened! No slaughter ensued, no one was shot, fuck, no one even got a paper cut while there were about 7 to 8 men armed with concealed handguns. So, Charlie, do me a favor, and explain to us how that happened…. I’m waiting… (this one ought to be good)

Their logic is non sequitur, it does not follow. If the schools are safe how did all these kids get killed? Claiming that the schools are safe implies that you have done everything that one could do to protect the kids.

If that were the case there would be nothing else possible that one could do to protect this from happening. The event is a statistical outlier and therefore we just need to accept the fact shit happens.

Ah, but that is not going to go over very well now is it?

The political apparatus is looking for the cheapest way out that will protect their jobs. They have to do something even if it is only for show. So we have gun ban proposals and no security guards, security doors on classrooms, bullet proof glass, etc because those latter things mentioned cost money.

They are in fear of losing their jobs and their paychecks. It's about the money, not about protecting the taxpayers kids.

Most of the school closing are on the south and west sides. Everyone will be transferred to a better school the document says.

Yep even if it takes traveling through multiple gang turfs I'll bet.

How's that better math and science score gonna work out when the kids get shot on along the way?

I suggest gym class be reinstated with a special emphasis on serpentine maneuvers

But, but, but the plan says these schools produce higher math and science scores!

95 schools closing so please close the ones around my house so I don't have to put up with the school zone speed trap cameras..

Or perhaps we're gonna install the cams then remove them a few months later so that the clouted camera outfits can rape the taxpayers of money, that in the end, the proceeds can be divided between the politicians as "campaign contributions"

That's you Mayoral Transparency for ya.

RE SCC's comment about no one would herd 20 coppers into a corner....

I work upstairs at 011, come and go past the desk all the time. I always worry about those guys because sometimes there is one guy there, and even if there are more, they are usually preoccupied with work, they can't watch the door every second. It would take very little for a mob of thugs to rush in and do some real damage. The people who traipse in and out of there are unbelievable. They should build a lobby enclosure where people have to wait to get buzzed in, like a bank lobby. Or better yet, build a moat around the place with a manned footbridge!

These mutts walk around like they own the place. Before Thanksgiving there was a mob of ghetto mothers and chilluns picking up their 'holiday baskets', just going through the gate and going downstairs like they belong there. Not a baby-daddy among 'em, none of those fat asses looked like they'd missed any meals lately. But they all had weaves and manicures, that's fo' sure!

I pray to God every day that nothing happens in that building. A lot of thug relatives coming regarding their kin being locked up, then leaving the building screaming at the top of their lungs. I can hear them on the 2nd floor. I'm especially alert after those incidents, figure some pissed off thug will come back with a gun. At least someone with a brain installed a buzzer door upstairs when the new units moved in.

A couple months ago some ghetto mama was yelling all up and down the street, "You ruined my baby's life by locking him up! Now he have no chance at all! Mother f*ing POLEESES, You ruined his life! You POLEEEESES ruined his life! Locking him up for no reason at all! You ruined his life!" You can hear them screaming for a couple of blocks.

If I worked behind that desk I would carry two guns, a knife, and more clips than the guys on the street carry.

Stay safe all. Things can go to shit in a heartbeat and when you least expect it.

Merry Christmas all!

Retired for over a decade, living in a southern state, with a retired LEO permit. I have to qualify every year just like IROCC. No problem with it. I feel that anyone with a concealed carry license should qualify once a year also, in order to be allowed to carry at schools, malls, movie theaters etc., that are currently "no gun zones". If legit teachers, store employees and other citizens were allowed to carry concealed, the possibility exists that lives can be saved. Under the current rules, we do not have a chance. Even a uniformed armed security guard at a school or business would just become the "first" victim in a planned attack. If someone does not want to be armed, fine; but give those who want to and qualify, a chance.

For 329 children and 5 teaching nuns, the only remaining means of escape was to jump from their second floor windows to the concrete and crushed rock 25 feet below, or to wait for the fire department to arrive and rescue them.

Recognizing the trap they were in, some of the nuns encouraged the children to sit at their desks or gather in a semicircle and pray.

Think back on your worst teacher. How would your life have been enhanced if they had been packing? Well, Rahmmie will pull a fast one--will keep the school zones because the schools are still standing, even though they're closed and there are no students...wanna bet?

PILLS AND PROBATION DON'T WORK!

Separation from society does!

Americans don't murder or maim children, parasite traitors or cowards do.

I know a 24 year old MAN with the mind of a 12 year old. He bags and helps people at a grocery store. Comes to work to WORK every day either a smile and proud of what he accomplishes.
I would take one for him before these parasite mopes we provide everything to and receive less than nothing!

A soldier goes to fight someone else's war and he ask us: "Just keep me children safe ." But we aren't Allowed to?

We need to be at schools, malls ,theaters and even churches if need be.

Help and protect the old and sick!
Eliminate the parasites and traitors who know better How? That's a very good question?
When? That's a better question?

Not "spinless" but spineless.
I think you mean gun owners not
"ownders".
"trained"? I think you mean train.

Obviously you're not an English teacher.

Yes you probably DO visit the range more than most police officers. When you only work six hours per day and have two to four weeks off for the Christmas holidays in addition to three months off during the Summer, you must have a lot of extra time on your hands.

And YES I thank goodness and God both that I am retired!

Don't you wish you were too?

BTW: I have 2 college degrees and 27 hours of grad school. So I'm speaking as someone who has seen firsthand the liberal leanings of the people in academe.

having an education and being educated, let alone intelligent, thoughtful, considerate, careful, humble, courageous, kind, generous, thorough, honest and determined, are two different things.

reflect upon your reflection, grasshopper.

At the risk of upsetting the people on this site, I agree.
Teachers SHOULD NOT be armed!
I haven't met one yet I would trust with a firearm. They are all a bunch of spineless liberals who act as though they are intellectually superior to the rest of the world. Just because they hold advanced degrees they think they know everything, about every situation & that ONLY their way is the right way of handling a situation.
Ask any police officer who works at a college or university.

I poop my pants really hard at the thought of anyone having a gun or fighting back... We need more gun control just like Mayor Emanuel and Supt. McCarthy said. You mean old cops are just angry for no reason. Guns and people who have them scare me.

I've met a number of policeman who shouldn't be carrying a gun. One wheel gun guy, with an Old Style decal on the butt of his gun, could not get the cylinder of his gun open. I took it to the unloading cabinet and I couldn't open it. The cylinder was frozen shut. Just to check, I tried to put pressure on the trigger. The action was frozen too. I squeezed harder. Nothing. Ol' wheel gun guy had a gun that he couldn't fire no matter what.

People cannot all be lumped into the same box, I've met ladies with white hair who could handle a gun. And male police officers who could not. So there you go.

If we just declare an area 50 ft or so around 9.5 a gun free zone and charge anyone who violates it with cook county double secret probation, then 9.5 no longer needs his secrity detail rjght?

A survey, several years ago, at Curie HS revealed that there were 44 veterans on staff. (One member had recently been activated for Desert Storm.) There's your pool of armed teachers.

you may not want to own a gun and that fine your choice, you may not want God in your schools that is fine
your choice but when someone breaks in your home and you call for help you pray that some one brings one

i like the one suggestion made on here and on truenews
hire a retired officer and have them walk around
they would bring experience and security
BUT that would get shot down because they fear it would run into $
alabama spends close to a 122million on school security
i feel if Tiny Dancer can spend 55million for a stupid park rather then for a real case of "it's for the children" he really DOES have "strange values"

You have got to be bullshitting...
Did the copper have a Colt cap & ball revolver or something?

How in hell can a modern era revolver completely seize up the way you described?

Did Rickey Ricardo & Fred Mertz disassemble it then put it back together?

mary mitchell wants to own a gun now
her article really did Tiny Dancer and the streetlightmarksman in
she basically said the city isn't safe despite the decrease in the increase
in case for those that don't know
mary mitchell is black, is she saying there is rampant crime in the black neighborhoods? despite what Tiny and McDufus say?

No really...it's okay if a mass murderer shoots up a classroom as long as it's not with a 30 round magazine.

Ha..that's the message being propagated?

Yeah, go ahead and break that law buddy. If you do you're gonna be facing some serious jail time I'll tell you what..

That'll deter them won't it? They've already determined that they are going to die but that jail time threat and fine will certainly make them think twice..right..right

..right??

((( crickets )))

Meanwhile the political apparatus wants us to lie to our kids and play along with their charade that we're safe.

The police and army and homeland security will protect us all. All we have to do is wait for them to show up in time..if they do.

Hey what do you want us to do put up razor wire fences around the schools to make them look like prisons. That sends the wrong message to 'the children' we are told. It's gonna upset the entire authority figure thing if we do that.

When the terrorist broke into cockpits and crashed planes look at all the bullshit we put 'the children' through now to travel on one. Groping by TSA guards, metal detectors, just short of doing a strip search.

However, should you mention beefing up classroom doors like we beefed up cockpit doors and the anti-gun nuts go ballistic. IT'S SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE. No, I don't want 'the children' growing up in fear. Mention putting one armed guard in a school or allowing the teachers and staff that want to be trained and want conceal carry in the classrooms and then it's OMG YOU WANT TO PUT GUNS IN OUR SCHOOLS?!!

They sound like the bullets are going to jump right out of the chambers without even touching the weapon.

Today we heard talk of a company that makes armored plated back packs for $300 a pop. OH NO. I'm not having my kid be told to make sure he puts on his armor everyday.

All they got is this one-trick pony solution that so far fails to address anything to prevent another disaster.

It's time to drop the fallacy that DHS, the police, homeland security or the national guard is going to save you or your children in time. If they are not already on scene forget it.

Granted it's sad. Sad that people are in denial and refuse to accept any defensive solutions other than ban those guns.

Ban the guns here. then allow the DOJ to export them to Mexico and re-enter the country on the black market. This way we can demonized the guns even more when the people realize the gun bans are a joke.

In other news guess what?

Strum Ruger and Smith and Wesson stocks were both up today somewhere between 7~8% People that bought the dip at the bottom made a nice chunk of change. If they short traded the stock ( betting and making money on a stock when the price goes down) too they made even more. If you had the guts and money to gamble with over the last few days one could of made what will take several years to do with a Fed. manipulated fixed income bond investment.

Hindsight is always twenty-twenty though. Unless you have inside info. good luck imo

Lets harden these buildings if that is what we have to do to protect these kids. Bullet proof entry doors and glazing. It can be done, Armortex would be glad to crank out the material. Spend the money. Hire armed private security, or active duty or retired LEOs and let these lousy MFers know that if they try to harm our kids they will be shot deader than shit. It is sad and sickening that it has come to this, but the guns are not going to go away and good people have to do what is needed to keep the kids safe in school. Spend the money it takes to make it so.

Correct me if im wrong but If I'm not mistaken somewhere in the ilcs its written people are allowed to keep a weapon at their place of employment granted they are certain stipulations an all. I know many bartenders and gas station attendants used to keep a gun under the register because of robberys and fights turned to shootings
