Can't Fix Stupid
- A man from Joliet was demonstrating the safety mechanism of his brand hew handgun when he accidentally shot himself to death.
21-year-old Deon Perry died Saturday.
Police say Perry and some friends were in a car outside his home Friday. He pointed the .25-caliber gun at his face and pulled the trigger to show how well the safety worked, but the safety wasn't on.
That's one mistake he won't be repeating.

Doh! That's gonna leave a mark.
did the deceased, prior to deceasing, explain how he ended up shot in the face?
or was this explanation given solely by those others present at the time of the shooting?
"He pointed the .25-caliber gun at his face and pulled the trigger to show how well the safety worked, but the safety wasn't on."

First voice - "WOO AAH! He he he he WOO WOO AAAAA! AAAAAA!"

Think of it as evolution in action.
I guess you CAN fix stupid! He fixed it himself.
Did his buddy video it and post it on YouTube or Facebook?
It starts out, "Watch this...
always assume a gun is loaded and will go bang. rule #1
As much as I am a supporter of the Second Amendment and everyones right to own a firearm, it really does scare me that without any training or experience someone can walk into a store and buy a gun. There really needs to be some basic safety course that every gun owner must take before they can purchase a new firearm.
On a separate note, Im glad to see that we have not completely fucked up the planet and that darwinism is still going on.
He would have made a great congressman from Ilinois.
oops!!!
Hold muh beer and watch this...
Don't gorget to cancel his FOID card.
Did he get the gun from Donne Trotter?
Another Obama voter bites the dust. What a shame. And so young that he didn't even get to collect on all the entitlements he was promised and that we would have paid for.
Did he have and FOID card?
Did he purchase that gun legally?

Lets also remember anyone can father a child, which in my opinion is even scarier.
I hope this asshat didn't reproduce, I suppose if we look around Joliet for a knuckle dragging little kid, we'll know for sure.
When they say "hey guys, watch this one" you better watch out.
Russian Roulette with a semi-auto never works out right.

I'll take : "Thinning Out The Herd" for $1000 please, Alex.
Always keep you weapon pointed downrange and make sure the safety is ON until ready to fire it.
"Now if that motherfucking thingy wasn't on it would surely kill me dead!"
He was just starting to get his life in order. Pity, but look on the bright side. One less moron to deal with.
Hopefully prior to his demise he did not reproduce or donate to a sperm bank.
Fortunately, firearms are singled out as being exempt from product liability claims in this sort of incident. Otherwise this mopes family would certainly try to sue the manufacturer for making an unsafe product.
Stay Safe. Some pistols, particularly foreign made war souvenirs can be very tricky to handle. I have seen a Japanese Type 94 Pistol with an external sear that will go off if that is touched, and a Soviet Makarov that went off when dropped. If you don't know, ask.
So much for the .25 caliber not being powerful enough debate.
safety first
To quote NYPD "THEE RANT" it only takes a parachute to sky dive twice.

Being that it is a constitutional right, ie a right that comes from God, just what type of training would you recommend? We have restricted this right to the point that people that apply to be police officers have never handled a firearm in their lives before the police academy. They have 14 years of education. Even the least educated of us manages to get at least 8 years of education. Granted, these Rhodes Scholars probably are illiterate, but an illiterate backwoodsman from 200 years ago probably had very little education but had enough common sense to know that IF you pull the trigger of a firearm it was going to go bang. I'm all for training when it comes to firearms, I'm just quite uncomfortable with a liberal deciding just how much training you should have.

Thinning of the herd.....Darwin theory fully applied.
