There He Goes Again

Rahm is making noise again.  Anything to distract from his driving the City of Chicago into the ground while he pillages public safety pensions:
  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel today called for an assault weapons ban at the state and national levels and said it was time for a "vote of conscience" in Congress following the deadly assault on schoolchildren in Connecticut.

Speaking at a Chicago Police Department graduation and promotion ceremony this morning, the mayor did not address the political difficulty of the task. Congress allowed an assault-weapon ban to expire in 2004 and state efforts at gun control legislation have regularly failed in Springfield.
And of course, his McLapdog repeats his bullshit:
  • After the ceremony, police Superintendent Garry McCarthy backed the mayor's call for an assault weapons ban, saying large ammunition clips should be banned at the same time.

"If you ban the assault weapons and don't ban the high-capacity magazines, you’re only putting a Band-Aid on top of it," McCarthy said. "You're not fixing it."

McCarthy also said state Attorney General Lisa Madigan should appeal a federal appellate court ruling that struck down the state's ban on carrying handguns in public.

"The answer to firearms is not more firearms," McCarthy said. "Whether it's conceal-carry, whether it's extended magazines, whether it's assault weapons, it's all part of the same bigger picture."

"She should appeal it, absolutely," he added."“Just because 49 states did it doesn't make it right. Does anybody think it's right, the amount of gun violence that exists in this country? What we're doing isn't working."

You have to wonder at a mayor and superintendent who are presiding over the largest increase in killings, maimings and armed violence in years telling the rest of the country that what is needed is more Chicago-style gun regulation.

We also heard a whisper of a hint of a rumor that a certain City Hall politico was involved in a large purchase over the weekend, a purchase involving stocks of gun manufacturers and makers of ammunition.  Never letting a crisis go to waste indeed.

Right, chicago gun regulations......almost 500 dead this year ......smart rham! If you ban the guns the next thing will be bombs. You can get the instructions right off the internet, and the means right in our hardware stores & supermarkets. SO lets ban them too before 20-30 people turn into 100-200.No minds!

Funny how the city leaders always point to academic studies to reinforce their point. However when the study doesn't back up their agenda, the academia is ignored even if it is from the prestigious Harvard Law school.

We'll likely see the ban, and clip size restriction because they are the easy way out -- to appease the masses.

The cost of doing this is minimal in dollar terms.

Forget for example installing steel reinforced door frames with dead bolt dual sided key locks and bullet proof glass on each and every classroom door.

Oh hell naw. That stuff cost money and we don't have the clouted friends running those businesses to award the no-bid contracts to for that.

Nor should we beef up security with police or armed security guards. Just have the kids crouch down on the floor.

You have to be a psychopath to stand in front of the public with these goofy safety procedures and act like we've done everything possible.

I love how the comeback that is used to discourage any additional security measures like perhaps training any teacher that wants it, firearm use and safety of self defense courses. OMG you want to put guns in the classrooms? OMG you want to have the children go to a school that looks like a prison? We're Americans and we're better. They say.

Yep, what the alternative tho?

The border is wide open and the leaders neither have the will or means to shut it down. The export of firearms to Mexico will easily be reverse should a demand for guns appear because of a ban. Yay for the cartels cash flow eh?

Look up the Mexico gun laws and see how having one government store to buy a gun from is working. Hint 60,000 dead since

So sometime in the future we'll most likely see another mass murderer. He'll have to use maybe three clips instead of one clip and in the end the psychopathic politicians will claim they did all they could.

It's about the money. Our kids can play the role of martyrs because it's about the money. Smoke and mirror laws. Makes me sick.

No..no, can't we just have the teachers and the five year-old's cower in the closet if they have one and in the corner if they don't praying that the "good-guys" will arrive in time,

Heh. I ask you:

"Who raised you people"?

Tonight, on Charlie Rose, Mayor Michael Bloomberg took a swat at Rahm. His smirk was priceless.
He stated, "There are some cities, they've hired counselors to go out and work with gangs. One mayor said, don't do your stuff on the streets; you guys do it in the back alleys. I mean, these cities, their crime rate is through the roof. Ours is down 20% this year, our murder rate."
"These are kids who understand one thing. Enforcement of the laws."
Now, while I don't agree with much of what he says about gun control, I do agree with that last statement.

Newtown: Follow the Money

By Kevin Roose

Dan Primack reports that the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) "effectively owns a 6.67% stake" in Bushmaster — the company whose semiautomatic .223 rifle was used in the deadly Sandy Hook rampage — by virtue of its investment in Cerberus Capital Management, the private-equity firm that owns the Freedom Group, Bushmaster's parent company.

A list of Cerberus's investors isn't publicly available, but it appears that at least two additional teachers' pension funds (and probably more) have money invested in the firm: the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, which listed Cerberus among a group of investors to which it had paid fees in its most recent annual report [PDF], and the Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System, which reportedly allocated $400 million to the Cerberus fund that was used to bankroll the Freedom Group.

As politicians sort through the legislative ramifications of Friday's shooting, indirect investors in the Freedom Group and other gun manufacturers may start asking tough questions about where their money is going.

There's more than one way to make money trading stocks.

If you buy a stock with a "long trade" you are betting that the stock price is going up.

If you trade a stock using a "short trade" you make money when the stock price goes down.

If you make a trade based upon insider information that is an SEC violation.

That said, it is surfacing that these teacher retirement plans across the country have money tied up in the $30 billion a year gun companies.

Insider trading is a crime.

"Still, in gross terms, the teachers' pension funds own large numbers of shares in firearms companies.

New York's teacher retirement system, for example, owns more than 84,000 shares in Sturm, Ruger & Co., according to its most recent financial documents, yielding a market value of more than $3.3 million.

California's system holds more than 100,000 shares in both Sturm Ruger and Smith & Wesson Holding Corp., equating to a combined market value of more than $6 million.

Both Sturm Ruger and Smith & Wesson have seen their stock prices soar over the past year. Sturm Ruger's stock price more than quadrupled from the beginning of 2011 until late November, jumping from $15 per share to more than $58 per share. Smith & Wesson's share price more than tripled over the same time period.

Shares of both companies fell Monday on the New York Stock Exchange. Smith & Wesson lost 5.2 percent; Strum Ruger declined 3.45 percent.

That's So Funny!

Follow the money.

The Code of Silence verdict.

City: Profs have motive to keep ‘code of silence’ verdict in Abbate case

Chicago lawyers fired the latest shot in the fallout from the Anthony Abbate bar beating verdict Monday, claiming two law professors who have intervened have a financial motive to keep the judgment against the city intact.

****

The city asked Judge Amy St. Eve to vacate the judgment, saying plaintiffs’ attorneys were “chomping at the bit” to “misuse” the finding to gouge taxpayers in other police misconduct cases.

*****

Flint Taylor of the People’s Law Office, a member of the professors’ legal team, said his firm has fought to expose the code of silence for more than 40 years.

“It is disappointing, but unfortunately not surprising, that this administration, like Mayor Daley’s before it, has chosen to shove the code of silence under the rug and to attack the lawyers who have fought to expose it rather than to seriously deal with the problem,” Taylor said.

read the whole thing ...

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/17075880-418/city-professors-have-motive-to-keep-abbate-verdict.html

Yeah as if the city doesn't also have a financial motive to sweep the findings under the rug??

Maybe this is not the only place the city has a financial motive where people are 'chomping at the bit' ya think?

An awful lot of people are "using the crisis" to sing out of the gun ban hymnal and if someone did tipped off the teachers retirement funds were pulling out for example....of course that would never happen in Chicago and it's just speculation and stuff.

I'm not alleging anything. I'm just sayin'

When the average people are denied their Constitutional Right to defend themselves, then NO politician, State or Local, should have ANY security team paid for them by those same "average people".

If this state is so safe - because "why would you ever need a concealed gun?", then politicians should not fear for their lives either.

I have never heard or seen of any NRA member shooting up the west or south side. What is needed is that good people have to be armed. This guy killed all his victims before the police arrived, there is nothing they could have done to stop him because they weren't there when it was happening. But there were good people there who did try to stop him and they couldn't because they did not have the tool to do it. They needed a gun. When it mattered most, they needed a gun.

Rahm made an appearance and mantra on CBS News this morning. Interesting and informative, Emanuel made an argument for law enforcement to get the illegal guns from the criminal elements within our cities. He wasn't talking "banning the assault rifle" for all American citizens as many of our politicians are talking.

Interesting: A gunshop somewhere sold 30 AR-15 rifles in 3 days. Looks like some people are taking our Declaration of Independence seriously: "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive....it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government,....." The alteration and the abolishment includes our political representatives (my words)!!

It appears that CBS is gathering the big city chiefs (no, that is NOT a new NFL team; I mean "mayors" as in elected officials) to advocate some form of new gun prohibition.

I know many of you dislike "assholes", but you really have to watch that "pain in the ass." That's right, it takes one to know one!! Be safe, y'all.

A handgun is an inanimate object.

It can not pick a target, aim , and fire itself.

Just like a pencil can not fail your test or a spoon can not make you fat , guns, pencils, and tablewear need to be human directed for use (most often).

Who then is responsible when there is a DUI fatality? The car or vehicle?
Do we ban motor vehicles? Who do we blame the alcohol? Yes , sometimes, but who is imprisoned?

The current gun laws exist and are adequate, beyond adequate.

The current laws are enforced by the police departments. Enforcement people can not dictate to courts, states attorneys, or governors on how to proceed when a law is broken.

At least one out of five persons in this country today is a victim of a mental illness.

Are they all politicians?

Are they all media tools?

Change your agendas now, pols across this country, address the actual problem.

Fund and assist the mental health communities and the staffs that are actively trying to help them live their lives.

DO NOT continue to cut mental health or disability assistance programs.

If you do, YOU, are the guns in our society.

If you had to go into a building to stop a armed person, your service weapon, would be a "Assault Weapon". I think we need to define, what a "Assault Weapon" is before we ban them.

So...

Instead of a monumental failure to "communicate," uhhmmm...

*Shit... Wait a minute... *Rustle-Fidget... THUD! Ah-Hah! Got It! OK, from the top...*

Uhhmmm... A monumental failure for us rabble to "get" Flaming Tutu's & McFuck-Pretending-It's-Real-Anymore's "message..."

What we ACTUALLY HAVE here?

Is a sickening realization on THEIR parts, is that the smartest, most forward-looking mayor ever and the smartest, most competent, capable and blessed with overabundant leadership ability law enforcement CEO (just ask him) have, without a doubt, by their OWN hands and design, managed to TOTALLY OUTSMART THEMSELVES trying to OUT-SLICK EVERYBODY ELSE!

That explains the blaring trumpets and the shrill, bug-eyed heralds in too tight breeches making pronouncements seemingly on the tenth fraction of each hour from the crypts at 111 N. LaSalle & 3510 S. Michigan.

That explains why both major local rags erected paywalls and "Rahm says you gotta register" firewalls with extra monitoring and censors on the side, to control the message and keep the rabble from raising pointy, awkward questions for ALL to see.

Heh... Can't have other media outlets trolling THEIR comments and getting the impression that Chicago is aflame and Flaming Tutu has barred all the exits except for one and has set up a sniper position to kill everyone fleeing the palace because they're disloyal for not wanting to burn in the fire with him...

McWhat-Have-I-Gotten-Myself-Into is right next to Flaming Tutu loading the guns, sweating and looking for a way out...

Tough go when you chain and padlock yourself to a lunatic, huh Garry?

Whatever you sold your soul for is worth the long, hot ride into Hell on the splintery spiral bannister chained to a loon who's actually enjoying the ride?

Damn... That non disclosure/confidentiality agreement must be a hard biting, crown wearing, purple bag swinging, hang-titty bitch.

A man with an intact soul would say "fuck it, I'm telling it all..."

No, but the answer to violent criminals preying on unarmed victims IS in fact more firearms, but in the hands of the law abiding citizens. They level the playing field and whenever concealed carry is passed, violent crime goes down because the mutts no longer know for sure that their victims are unarmed.

Just saw McGuncontrol on WGN news this morning and I swear, I wanted to whip a brick at the TV after listening to this softball. Robin and Larry interviewed him about the recent gun law here in light of the shooting in Connecticut. He spouted off his usual bs statistic and stated how we have an overall reduced crime rate then advocated for stricter gun tracking and control. Robin responds by saying that since the 1982 Chicago gun ban, gun related crimes went up 41% and stated something to the effect that criminals will always find a way to get guns; law abiding citizens should be able to protect themselves. She asked him how do you respond to that- his reply: "Trayvon Martin is my response" and then continued to denounce the idea of armed people protecting themselves. WTF???? My fking jaw dropped I couldn't believe that he actually invoked some thug's name to use as his defense for disarming the good citizens who should be able to carry if they so desire. Just my opinion, but that case is still pending in court and when it's all said and done, they are going to find that Zimmerman was in his right to shoot because that pos was trying to beat him to death. But either way, how does a superintendent of police hide behind a case in which the argument of a justifiable homicide has not yet been determined to support his argument? McGoof must already believe that poor Trayvon was just an innocent victim- further solidifying the conclusion that this guy is really clueless and has no business on our department. Unreal!

OT - Was approached downtown by a tourist this past weekend who needed assistance. They said that they had approached another officer who had an attitude and was very unhelpful. Turns out that the other "officer" was one of the revenue ass wipes. When I told the tourists this they asked why he was wearing a badge that looked "just like yours". My response was that we have been asking that questions since they got them. Thank god it wasn't an emergency. This is the second time I heard this complaint. During the summer a restaurant manager told me that one of the revenue people got very indignant when the restaurant charged him for coffee after they were told that he wasn't a police officer. Not that police should get free coffee, just the fact that he was mistaken for a police officer. Does anyone see a problem here in an emergency situation?

BINGO!

There will ALWAYS be the poor among us... At least that's what the carpenter's Son preached in the Good Book.

The man of common sense knows the crazy will always be among us as well.

The crazy will avail themselves to WHATEVER INSTRUMENT they can get their hands on to commit horrible acts like this...

Guns.
Knives.
Chemicals.
Explosives.

Crashing vehicles through walls...
Crashing EXPLOSIVE laden vehicles into walls...

And so on...

Didn't a loon intentionally crash a light aircraft into an office building a few years ago?

O_o?

The constant that the lib-tards are intentionally overlooking?

The fuckin' LOON!

The variables are every damn thing else.

Don't look at the loons!
You might start asking questions about cuts in funding for mental health that politicians don't want to answer.

Look at all these bad GUNS running around on little legs shooting themselves into the asses of the unwary.

*Pop Pop Poppety Pop Pop! "AIIEE! My ASS!" >Scamper!< Hee-Hee-Hee!*

The Lib-tards and anti-gunners are exploiting this sad incident to whip up hysteria.

Second guessing the principals does no good but the fact of the matter is that guns and this disturbed young man SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN PROXIMITY! Period.

Preliminary reports were his Mother was found in bed, still in her pajamas and shot in the head four times.

Our take?

He probably slipped his Mother something in her food/drink so she wouldn't be able to keep him from getting to the guns... Just a thought.

Also... If this kid was such a handful for his Mother, did the Father offer to step up? Or was he just glad to have distance between himself and the kid?

And not in the least, it seems that mental health system and the health system as a whole, failed this family and failed the families of the children and teachers at that school.

This was NEVER a law enforcement problem until this kid trespassed on school property armed to the teeth.

Funny how none of the yellow-pinky lib-tards or the media are saying ANYTHING about having trained and fully vetted people in a position to FIGHT BACK AND DEFEND!

Heh... The Israelis have this mindset. Why not emulate what they're doing to protect their schools and public places?

Oh... That doesn't square with the lib-tard, yellow-pinky agenda of gun-snatching from the wrong people and their ethos of submission and surrender in the face of certain great bodily harm and/or death.

"Fighting back is bad, wrong and leads to hurt feelings! Only those angry, bitter conservatives want to fight back! We need to stand together and show how enlightened and evolved we are! MORE GUN CONTROL NOW!"

The Euro-weenie style, yellow-pinky feminization of America.

Look at the president... Not a single man's man/hard-case/tough and went through tough times in life middle-aged MAN on his staff.

Poofters, mincing dilettantes, peck-sniffs, life long academics/grant writing grifters who avoided getting their hands dirty and side-saddle riders aghast at standing to pee...

Oh yeah... Look at city hall too but we digress...

Fight back... Defend... Protect...

GET TOUGH!

(Heh... Bonus Points if you can fighure that one out.)

The only time lib-tards and yellow-pinkies get tough is when they're pushing their wrong headed agenda.

Then, they're downright vicious.

Has this "issue" ever been "addressed?"

How about we line up the whole Emanuel administration? Right from the top, all 50 aldermen, etc.

Nothing to hide, nothing to worry about, right?

"Fierce and all-seeing guardians vested with public trust," etc. OK.

Even Home Depot has signs on the front door stating that this is done.

What about City Hall?

Lead by example.

Oh. "Providers" too. Dr. Almighty God, all of them. The pharmacies too. When you have a sixty-year-old R.Ph. back there, sweating and hands shaking, making weird accusations against a customer who just wants a refund slip initialed, something's wrong. Twentysomethings even worse. Not just once on this, and not just in one place, either. Fox left to guard henhouse.

Remember Daley's famous "Save Alderman Dick Mell's Personal Collection Gun Registration Amnesty?" Don't see him at the "Reduce Violence Gun Turn-In And Get A Pair Of Free Sneakers And A Complimentary Purple Drank," do you?

In general terms -- turn all these God-damned cameras and radars and buzzers and s__t back around on the people who put them in and you might really get something.

Words To Live By --

"Your Commie has no regard for human life, not even his own. And for this reason, men, I want to impress upon you the need for extreme watchfulness. The enemy may come individually, or he may come in strength. He may even come in the uniform of our own troops. But however he comes, we must stop him. We must not allow him to gain entrance to this base.

"Now, I am going to give you three simple rules: First, Trust no one, whatever his uniform or rank unless he is known to you personally. Second, anyone or anything that approaches within 200 yards of the perimeter is to be fired upon. Third, if in doubt, shoot first and ask questions afterwards. I would sooner accept a few casualties through accident than lose the entire base and its personnel through carelessness. Any variation on these rules must come from me personally. Now men, in conclusion, I would like to say, that in the two years that it has been my privilege to be your commanding officer, I have always expected the best from you, and you have never given me anything less than that. Today, the nation is counting on us. We are not going to let them down. Good luck to you all."

This move actually *caused* the production of a new class of firearm. The manufacturers made the low-capacity magazine, then built a firearm around it.

The fact of the matter is that more laws and more control don’t equal more safety and security. If you need proof, just look at Chicago.

Chicago is the poster child for gun control, yet since 2001, 2,000 troops have died in Afghanistan while 5,000 people have been murdered in Chicago. Chicago’s homicide rate is four times greater than New York, and twice that of Los Angeles. Good intentions have yielded bad results in Chicago, and it’s time to face the facts: Criminals and psychotic individuals don’t obey “no guns” signs or gun control laws.

At the time that I am writing this IDOT is reporting 932 highway deaths so far this year

http://www.dot.state.il.us/

This is almost double the 491 homicides in Chicago.

There's is one thing that we know for sure. IF THESE PEOPLE DIDN'T HAVE ACCESS TO VEHICLES THEY WOULD STILL BE ALIVE TODAY.

Isn't time we ban these autos and trucks? These weapons of mass destruction.

Enough is enough. Just this afternoon some kid rammed his vehicle into a school. Another incident with a school bus crash, which probably had no seat belts on it because the politicians don't care, sent some kids to the hospital.

Let's stop with the fake grimaces, wiping away the alligator tears and use of all the affective language of the political apparatus.

Or to put it into the language that Rahm uses and understands like when he spoke to the DOJ a while ago. You need to "shut the fuck up"

Sorry, excuse my "french". But I'm afraid that's the only language they understand. We glorify them when they use it so it must be socially acceptable. "Dead, dead, dead was hilarious at a celebration dinner for him and his cohorts. HOO-RAY the competition is DEAD as they shouted out a list of names one at a time. Such an inspiration to our youth and mentally unstable that are unable to put the words in context.

Rahm, Gary, etc.. just "shut the fuck up"! You've already done enough damage.

Fatal stabbings up 78% versus 2011 - RedEye Chicago

September 05, 2012|By Tracy Swartz | RedEye

Thirty-four fatal stabbings have been recorded so far this year--already surpassing 2011 and 2010 totals. Stabbing fatalities are up 78 percent this year compared to the same period last year, RedEye data found..

http://articles.redeyechicago.com/2012-09-05/news/33623062_1_fatal-stabbings-redeye-data-south-side-community-area

You know that if these people didn't have access to (fill in the blank) that they would be alive today.

How are we gonna fight back?

HA, Why build a $55 million dollar Maggie Daley park, close down mental health care centers that may have intervened, Award a million dollars to a group of ex-cons called CeaseFire, and construct some $300,000 per-mile bike lanes.

OF COURSE!!

The largest mas murder in the US involving school children.

Andrew Philip Kehoe (February 1, 1872 – May 18, 1927) was an American farmer and treasurer of his township school board, notable as a mass murderer for killing his wife, as well as 43 other people, including 38 children; and injuring 58 people in setting off bombs in the Bath School Disaster on May 18, 1927. He committed suicide near the school by shooting into dynamite in his car, causing an explosion which killed several other people and wounded more. He had earlier set off incendiary devices in his house and farm, destroying all the buildings, as well as two horses and other animals.

***

Kehoe has set a timed detonator to ignite dynamite and hundreds of pounds of pyrotol at the school, which he had secretly bought and planted in the basement of both wings over the course of many months. The second 500 pounds of explosive, in the south wing, did not detonate, so part of the school was not destroyed.

As rescuers started gathering at the school, Kehoe drove up, stopped, and detonated dynamite by shooting his rifle inside his shrapnel-filled truck, killing himself and the school superintendent, as well as killing and injuring several others, including a boy who had survived the school bomb. During the rescue efforts, searchers discovered an additional 500 pounds (230 kg) of unexploded dynamite and pyrotol planted throughout the basement of the school's south wing, connected to an alarm clock that was supposed to act as the detonator and set for the same time that morning of the two other explosions.

THE FIRST RESPONDER IS ALWAYS YOU! POLICE AND FIRE AND EMS ARE THE SECOND RESPONDERS.

Waiting for "the good guys" to arrive is a failed strategy. We seen it on 9-11, we've seen it in the New Orleans hurricane and floods that followed. People where told to wait for the Calvary. We've seen it in Aurora Co, and now in CT.

Repeating the same action over and over again and expecting different results is a sign of insanity.

Mob hysteria is promoted to cover up these failures.

In spite of their best efforts there is a time element that police just cannot overcome. You cannot be everywhere at once.

So now we have calls for weapon bans and we know the consequences of those bans. It will be as successful as the drug bans and the so-called war on drugs.

Are we going to seal the border with Mexico when the guns begin being sent north of the border? Or are we going to just tell people that we've done all that we can do in the same manner we create these failed disaster safety plans for our schools and failed drug counter measures.

"Ok, so we ban high capacity magazines. 1) what happens to all those out there and 2) Maybe someone who went to a HS with a shop class can tell me -- how hard would it be to make a magazine (of any capacity) of your very own in a machine shop? "

Screw the clip, 3D printer technology is only about a year away from people being able to download gun schematics on the Internet and build whatever they want. Someone's already done an AR-15 lower, that's old hat the sticking point now is doing the metal parts (current-gen 3D printers only work on plastic). So even when you take citizen's rights out of the equation, the reality is that technology is about to make gun control utterly irrelevant save for those who play by the rules.

I feel for those poor kids and their families (and the teachers) in CT. But, WHY is now the time for outrage? Were the victims at Columbine, VT, NIU, Aurora not worth it? I wonder how those victims' families feel. Makes me sick.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
YES! there is confusion. public thinks they are police. then we get a bad reputation from their behavior. seen it a few times

"Just because 49 states (legalized concealed carry), it doesn't make it right." - Supt. Garry McCarthy, 12/17/2012.

By McCarthy's absurd and irrational statement without any rebuttal, I arrived at two possible conclusions on a man who once worked the mean Bronx streets of "The Alamo" (NYPD 46th Pct.) a generation ago. People do change.

(1) He is an arrogant, overbearing bully who will not hesitate to insult our intelligence with utter bullshit, or

(2) less likely, he is delusional.

Considering his cowardly predecessor "J-FLED", I initially welcomed McCarthy. I now realize that based on his public statements, he is as phony as a $3 bill. He is nothing more than Emanuel's puppet.

If you are interested in the dichotomy between eventual concealed carry in Chicago, you need look no further than New York City. Click on this topic on THEE RANT.

Be sure to read all links including those to the articles from the archives of two NYC newspapers in Post #33.

For better or WORSE, we are living in interesting times.

I recently traveled to NYC and met with several active and retired NYPD officers at the Dunkin' Donuts at Burnside and Davidson (a 10-13 intersection very familiar to then rookie Garry McCarthy) in the 46th Pct. A great bunch of guys, we later went to Peter Lugar's Steakhouse. Suffice to say, McCarthy is not the same cop that once worked "The Alamo".

There is no reason for me to go out and make arrests. Has anyone on this blog ever dealt with the 001st District lock-up. The civillians run it. The sergeant and the Lt. hide in the back all day long. The lock-up keepers basically talk your prisoner into going to the hospital. They are everything you don't want to deal with when processing a prisoner.

Here it is again. Once more --

Yes, we saw that single poorly-informed, throwaway, get-a-fast-check-for-it article on this subject.

"Old hat." Right. The "sticking points" of metalworking, metallurgy, physics, etc. are larger and more complicated than the uninformed can possibly understand.

A firearm is a "single-cylinder, expendable-piston heat engine." It is a bomb under control -- if everything is right. If not, it's just a bomb.

Operative word -- PRESSURE.

You have no idea.

Yes, big surprise to some that a 3D repli-printer oozing soft plastic is actually not Al Capp's mythical "Shmoo." Idea was that you show a picture of a desired object to a "shmoo" and the creature shits out your order, made complete, perfect, and shining.

No such animal.
