- A South Side alderman is asking for City Council hearings on an unorthodox gun control measure that would allow for GPS tracking of firearms.
WBBM [...] reports Ald. Willie Cochran (20th), a former police officer, has suggested that global positioning system chips be embedded in new guns, and retrofitted on existing firearms, so they could be located if they go missing.
“Just like if your car gets stolen, OnStar can tell you where your car is. If your gun gets stolen, and you report it, we should be able to find that gun,” he said.
Let's see - power source needed, has to be inaccessible for removal, have to convince the criminals to turn in their guns for retrofitting, etc.

WRONG, Operation Wide Reciever was had GPS tracking devices. Operation Wide Reciever was done under the Bush Administration and shut down by the Bush administration because the cartels were removing the devices. Also under that same program the Mexican goverment was aware of the operation and assisted in tracking the guns.
Now, Fast and Furious, The guns had no tracking devices and the Mexican Government was not aware of the Operation. Obama and his idiots thaought they could use this to blame America for a proliferation of guns in Latin America and get stronger gun laws if not ban them all together. I was born and raised in Chicago, unlike Rahmmie the Commie. You move out asshole. I have residency to comply with and I want to be safe while working here.

I have met a lot of mentally handicapped people who are extremely polite, patient, helpful, efficient, humorous, and as honest as the day is long. I often wish I could maintain their positive attitude.
I would unhesitatingly trust my back to one of them in preference to any Chicago alderman.
