Another Wreck?

Anyone hear about a wreck in 016 early New Years morning?  Couldn't find any media coverage, but an e-mailer said a parked Tahoe got totaled by a drunk and two cops had to be cut out of the vehicle somewhere on Foster.

If true, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Are Officers OK from 62 and Menard on New Years morning. Hope so. Didn't read about it here. What were these scum in custody for? Maybe info will be on Southwest Chicago Post, which everyone on the Southwest side should read. Their crime info will really make you want to move! But it's better to know the truth!

That could be why the chopper was circling the area for about 10 mins.

Why are these fools racing to every call? So many of the ghetto folk love to call in bogus "men with gun" calls all the time. Or to get the police there quicker, they just add "gun" to the call. It's a magic word for many to come.

And how you propose we prove that his intent was to run the officer over versus the collision based on his impairment from alcohol?

SCC asks about one wreck, gets back several bad incidents.

It goes to show...

Fyi the bike officer In 018 said the driver intentionally tried to run him over. So in this case I believe the cop.

They were sitting in the westbound lanes of foster at about 6800 west. not sure if their lights were on. sent the tahoe 20 feet forward into a parked pickup. They WERE NOT cut out. it was a pin in because the tahoe was resting next to the pickup, which meant the pass. side door wouldnt open. i have pics if interested. not so severe..tahoe was drivable..the olds was totaled.

This is absolutely true. The all knowing lieutenant said it was double jeopardy to charge this convicted felon POS with DUI and AGG Bat to PO.

For starters the fact that he was looking at a PO in front of his stopped vehicle and then floored it and attempted to MURDER a PO by running him over with his vehicle may establish intent. We all know the cook county court system. Just because you may not get a conviction does not mean you don't do everything with in your means (charging appropriately) to make sure this criminal is punished. Having a lieutenant of police tell you that you cannot charge a guy who attempted to KILL you with his vehicle with battery because he has a defense of being intoxicated is mind blowing. It is not the best source but maybe you should brush up on intoxication and how it can be used as a defense (not that we are supposed to play the role of defense attorney) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intoxication_defense

Cars don't usually move very fast and adjust the direction of travel by themselves. They usually have a driver and it can be deduced that unless there was a serious malfunction with the vehicle that the direction and speed of the vehicle was the driver's intent. Lesson over.

I live in the Foster/Nagle area and I did hear the eye in the sky flying around NYD. I once had my parked car smashed by a drunk non-english speaking person. Not fun.
