This is what happens when lawmakers pass laws in the middle of night after deliberately disobeying safeguards in place (72 hours for debate) in some desperate attempt to be seen as "doing something" instead of actually "doing something correctly:"
- A troubling oversight has been found within New York State's sweeping new gun laws.
The ban on having high-capacity magazines, as it's written, would also include law enforcement officers.
Magazines with more than seven rounds will be illegal under the new law when that part takes effect in March.
As the statute is currently written, it does not exempt law enforcement officers.
That's kind of a big "oops" as it essentially makes all LEO's guilty of misdemeanors and if left in place, makes every officer in New York state "undergunned" to the criminals who, by the way, won't be turning in their 10, 12, 15 or 19 round magazines.
Supposedly, a fix is on the way, but it's crap like this that makes it obvious left and Right will never see any room to compromise on gun issues.

These liberal politicians don't care about how badly conservatives hate the laws they pass. They like it when conservatives get mad and move away. They are thinning the herd that will vote against them. I was grumbling about how much I hate living here and some liberals said they want to move also. I just looked at them and thought, good, just like the idiots in California, after you screwed that up, you moved to Oregon and Colorado and did the same thing to those places.
Maybe they took their guidence from the idiot Nancy Pelosi who once said, "we have to pass the bill so we will know whats in it." Now they know they fucked up. What a group of clowns. They may be able to give chicago alderscum a run for their money for "who's the dumbest?"
In the utopia they've planned, police won't have guns either.

The people of New York must be relieved that bad guys will now only be able to kill 7 at a time instead of 10, 15, 19, etc.
So if you have a standard .45 (8 round clip), you need to load it only up to 7 (to be "NY legal").
Either that or everyone goes back to 6-shot wheelguns.

Several years back, some of our liberal cop hating legislators introduced wide sweeping legislation that included language that would have essentially disarmed POs off duty, and would have made it an affirmative defense that you were PO. This means you would be charged, and then have to try to defend yourself . . . . .
And you just know somewhere a politician is thinking of the revenue that could be had if all those NY cops got prosecuted and fined. Just like red light cameras, the new NY gun laws are really not about safety.

Let's not forget the media elite's bodyguards. While some of them are retired LEOs, I would guess a good number of them aren't. I'm sure the NBC crowd will also get an exception like the cops did from Gov. Cuomunist.

The thing is, the mandatory surrender of a previously legal item that is inherent to being able to avail oneself of ones Constitutionally-guaranteed, Creator-endowed right is clearly in breech of the 5th Amendment prohibition against an illegal taking. Giving $$$ for the item doesn't resolve the constitutional question either because it forces one to give up a Constitutional right.
So fuck NY! No one's turning in anything, especially not the criminals. What needs to be given up? Liberals. Turn em all in, get them off the streets and out of office because they are violating their oaths of office to PRESERVE, PROTECT, AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION.

6-.38 specials is not a good trade for 17+1 in a Glock. I love my revolvers, but, unless you're shooting .357's, they might not do the trick.
I'll tell you why we have to be unreasonable and refuse to budge even 1/2 inch on firearms control. The liberals end game is a ban on all firearms and they will take them from us 1 step at a time. Nothing short of an outright, complete ban will satisfy them.

I carry a 6-shot, .357 Magnum S&W Model 686 on duty and don't feel "undergunned." Of course, I'm also the top shooter in my agency where almost everyone else carries Glock 22s.

The old S&W model 27 .357 Magnum comes out on special occasions like Bulls Riots and the like...
158gr. wadcutter and hollow points are pretty much designed for shooting through cars and body armor of the 1930's as the FBI intended.
Muzzle velocities of 1500+ fps essentially made it a ferocious hand-held rifle.
Unless you're killing cars or hunting, the 125gr. and lighter hollow points are better suited for "social work." Less chance of a "blow through" but be sure of what's behind your target anyway.
Heh... Modern ammo runs @ 200 fps faster.
