Off Duty Officer Killed
- An off-duty Chicago Police officer was killed Friday when the SUV she was driving crashed on the Chicago Skyway in the South Chicago neighborhood.
The one-vehicle accident occurred near 87th Street on the skyway about 10:40 p.m. when the 2003 Range Rover Discovery she was driving struck a concrete barrier and rolled over...
This is the third off-duty officer to die in recent weeks, one by his own hand and a sergeant from a heart attack. Sympathies to all touched by these tragedies.

The Skyway is a dangerous road, and the one officer is correct, speed kills. The Range Rovers are more unstable at high speeds that most SUVs.
I feel for the sister who had every copper's nightmare: Learning first hand a loved one is dead.
