Hubcaps?

  • A 52-year-old man was charged today with assault on a federal officer for his part in a hubcap theft this week during which an FBI agent shot into a car trying to run down officers, authorities said.

The suspect had fled the crash scene Monday but surrendered to police Thursday after being identified by a passenger in the car who apparently was wounded during the gunfire, the FBI said.
Hopefully this turns out okay.

'System error' delays checks for Chicago State employees

Chicago Tribune ‎- by Jodi S. Cohen ‎- 7 hours ago

Because of an error, hundreds of Chicago State University employees who expected to be paid Friday will have to wait a few extra days.

I don't know. I could be wrong but it sounds kinda like a "system error" one might get when it's the end of the quarter and you have no money in the bank to pay your bills.

When's that next bond sale suppose to go off? In a few extra days from today right? Wonder if it's related?

Nice to see that the return for the crime was worth the risk, huh?

ONLY the feds can pull bullshit like this off.

You should have seen them on the scene talking about this is a federal case yadda yadda !

NO IPRA Or IAD for FEDS it s all legit they dont make mistakes like city cops!

Funny thingf about the white shirt they were happy to blow off a shooting and give it to FEDS without a questions.

OH CHUCX GHOUDIE IF you only could lose weight and investigate a case without being hand fed.

I am confused. Were they in the area doing something else and saw the hub cap theft or is the FBI so underwhelmed with work that that they have an anti hub cap theft task force?

either way, you are correct. Where are the Revrunds? Where are the demonstrations against police brutality and shooting someone like a dog who was at age 54, turning their life around? Rev Plager want to comment?

Why wouldn't it turn out OK? If you are in a car that is being used in a crime, you are complicit in that crime.

If you get shot during that crime, that is a result of your actions.

How can any rational person see it any other way?

Hubcaps? O_o?

Memories!

That mixed set of 4 hubcaps for $5.00 "Police Discount" from Maxwell St. for that pea-soup green '85 Chevy Impala with one whitewall tire, plastic taped over the back window and a sign "For Sale/Para Vendé - Cheep!"

"Ya'll ain't no Po-leece!"

Well... Hand it to the Feebs.

They burn their fuck-ups.
Bury Their fuck-ups.
Hide their fuck-ups.
Pay their fuck-ups to go away.

Remember Joe Airhart...

Hell and a heaping portion of ass skin should have been paid by the feds for that...

You out there? Somewhere? J-fled?

FBI gets in a shootout over hubcaps? CPD wouldn't do that. I can envision lots of good jokes regarding Feds and hubcaps.

Fucking FBI can't put Master Criminal Richard M Daley behind bars but they are out there shooting up the place over hubcaps. They have their priorities I guess.

I wonder, were they baby moons? For baby moons I can understand.

Funny shit... never saw so many so cvalled bosses butt hurt over driving an "executive sedan" with no hubcaps...

Oh yeah... Remember that stupid shit that went on for a while about coppers being sparred for not being able to account for all the hubcaps on their vehicle?

Another gift from good ol' Cholly...

The height of silliness... Coppers tossing out the anchor to back up and retrieve an already flattened hubcap from the middle of the road...

Or "borrowing" one/some off a supervisor's car!

Fun times...

Still remember when we had people campaigning for FOP that wanted our officers involved in shootings to not only have legal counsel present, but also a three day grace period before having to give a statement.

Still think its a good idea. Of course you can claim chest pains and buy some decompression time before having to relive any traumatic experience.

Some of you guys love to say shit about the bureau guys. Many years working with them and they are all first class. I bet the CPD has a very high number of assholes compared to the Chicago office.
Ever hear any agent leave the FBI to go on the CPD ? NO.
I would defend our brothers from the bureau is a second. They go after coppers because it needs to be done right, not like our IAD who let trash continue OTJ.
Many of these guys come from police families and their fathers did not want them following in their foot steps and become a CPD copper. The CPD has been gone for 10 years already.
If I had to do it all over again, I would of went to the feds after being a CPD copper for 30 plus years. Glad to be retired and I was on the CPD in the great years were bosses where the real police and copper' with under 5 years on the job did not voice an opinion without asking.

The agent probably saw the theft occurring and intervened, just like many of you would do, or should I say would have done a few years ago... Then shit turned bad and suddenly he was firing is gun because someone tried to run him over. Probably the last thing he expected, but being a federal agent, he should have considered being a good witness - especially if he has no former police experience dealing with on-view incidents. Many feds don't have street experience.

I was on the job (CPD) 15 years before leaving for the feds (not the FBI). The grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side. It's got plenty of dead patches too. It's a very different life.

Don't knock the feds you don't know personally. We all do a job and have families to feed. We are all on the same side. If you dislike corruption investigations that go after bad coppers, perhaps you should find another line of work.

"Theft is not a federal crime in itself. FBI doesnt [sic] have jurisdiction. I think that agent should be indicted."

Rather than thinking wild thoughts on your own without knowledge of the law, perhaps you should read the ILCS, particularly 720 ILCS 5/2-13. In particular, Illinois House Bill 162 was signed into law in 2008 giving federal agents peace officer status for all offenses. 5/2-13 says, "...then officers, agents, or employees of the federal government commissioned by federal statute to make arrests for violations of federal criminal laws shall be considered "peace officers" under this Code..."

Reading comprehension is a factor in having a successful police career without geting legitimate complaints of false arrest. Also, the more you read, the more you will improve your poor writing and grammar.

The actions of the agent were in all likelihood lawful, however, he could have shown better judgement than to get involved in a minor theft.

You clowns have an entire career to decide whether to shit or get off the fucking pot.

A Copper deal with trying to make ugly that's happenin' right fucking now somewhat pretty and you jokers get to rummage in his underwear drawer and display the contents sunny-side up at leisure.

Working Policemen shun you clowns like the plague you are.

You cry "Brotherhood" when your shit goes off script and when shit DOES break bad. You leave the locals to swing in the wind.

You jokers are known nation-wide for that. You're just open and notorious in Chicago.

We'll always remember Airhart.

Swiss was done a dirty fucking deal.

Cozzi should have NEVER happened.

P.S.

Funny... The Feds looked the other way on Daley's bullshit for years...

Motherfucker looted/facilitated the looting of $12 to $15 Billion in taxpayer treasure.

Since you jokers want to jaw-jack about so called corruption investigations...

Yeah... Coppers are the source of everything wrong with Chicago.

Man... Do you guys set your sights low.

First class; right, they get the best training in the world in running away from gun fights. Ask the Airhart family.

Two armed feebs run out of an apartment seeking "backup" when they ARE the backup. Someone needed to come feet first out of that apartment bedsides our guy and the only clear target was the rear ends of two feebs.

Time to go in blazing and two FBI agents turned tail and ran.

Yeah, tell me about the good old days and your wonderful exploits with the FBI and I will tell you true documented stories of FBI cowardice on S. Wabash Ave.
