Insurance Premiums Skyrocket

We keep remembering the promises made by President Sparklefarts that everyone had to get insurance, everyone would pay exactly the same, rates wouldn't go up and we'd all get to keep our doctors. Anyone with a brain knew this was all a bunch of lies.

California is finding out how bad it's going to get:
  • Health insurance costs are skyrocketing in California, where many citizens will soon face double digit premium hikes. According to the LA Times, Blue Shield of California and Aetna Inc recently announced premium “increases that average more than 11 percent for about 47,000 individual and small-business policyholders.” California health bureaucrats are understandably unhappy and blame the insurance companies for the new rates.

But their anger is misdirected. As the article states, many of these increases have been driven by the need to recoup costs associated with the rollout of Obamacare. They are a rational response to rising health care costs and to a law that forces insurers take on more expensive patients who are high risk or have pre-existing conditions.

This is what happens when a plan expands coverage without reducing costs. Blue California is now getting the first taste of the financial burdens Obamacare will create in coming years—and they aren’t enjoying the experience.
Coming soon to a state near you.

Did you notice the amount the city pays for your insurance was listed on the bottom of your W2. This is a brand new universal addition to the form for those that have employer paid health care.
And why would they start listing such a thing? Because they are getting ready to tax the benefit as income, so they can pay for some cradle to the grave welfare recipient's Obamacare.

Some believe the goal of the Unafordable Healthcare Act, from the get-go, was to crash private Healthcare Insurance and push everyone in to a government single payer system.

I believe that's true but that is just a means to the ultimate goal: create havoc in the USA economy on so many levels you create a crisis where Socialism can be put in place.

When you call and complain about the astronomical increases in Healthcare Insurance, the Insurance company gives you the B.S. line that the State sets Insurance rates. That's half true. The States and Fed gov't keep the Insurance companies free of competition and the State Insurance Board approves rates but they don't really police or verify what is taken in, what is paid-out and if people like the self-employed and others aren't gouged (and we are). You complain to the Feds, they blame the State.

I'm self-employed. My rates have skyrocketed with Bkue Cross.. There are other less expensive BC plans, but when I get quotes from BC/BS when I request quotes under another name, I'm quoted 40% less. But, when I apply to migrate to another less expensive plan, all things being equal my age 54, single, non-smoker, high blood pressure, they decline my request to move me to the cheaper plan. Then they rub it in telling me my "old" plan has increased in cost because people have moved out of it? Really, I ask? Like people my age? With high-blood pressure? What plan did they go to? Then I hear crickets. I suspect they moved out meaning went uninsured because it was unaffordable. To another insurer? Yeah, try it. They're don't compete to drive the cost down. There is NO competition.

Here's what's happening. Before the fucking up of the system, those of us who worked and paid for insurance either on our own or with our employer paid for a vreat many of the uninsured by virtue of the cost of the uninsured being baked in to our premiums.

Then FUBARAK comes along, waves a magic wand and says the system is going to insure millions more and the cost to do that will be financed by the 30 million young people and others who heretofore were not paying for insurance but must be now under the FUBARAK plan or they will be fined. What millions more? Who are they?

All they have done is shifted sand. There is one pool of money to finance Healthcare. And, it's the same pool of money now as there was before FUBARAK's plan. That pool was the pool that paid and it is always the same, those that work.

But, what the FUBARAK plan has done and continues to do is cause those who created the money to finace Insureance, the working man directly or thru an employer, is increasingly unable to afford Insurance.

They have killed a great system. Not perfect, but the best for the most people.

It will crash when those who could afford it can no longer afford it. Those numbers and that day is rapidly approaching. Those that heretofore were not paying in are for the most part are still not paying in and will continue to do so.

FUBARAK's plan was never about insuring the most people. That was the system we had.

Next increase, I'm done. If I get sick, I either get money from FUBARAK or I die.

Designed to do this from the start.

People will begin to demand a single-payer (UK) system because they know there is no turning back.

UK style government insurance will be here by 2020.

A big Fuck You to Cali, I opted out of insurance. Fake name to the ER for reactive medicine. Nice 4 hour drive to Windsor for my reactive medicine. The 2% penalty I will pay will be peanuts compared to health costs. What did the US expect. This clown came from Illinois. The same place where politicans couldn't find their asses with both hands..

I think the only way to get leftys to admit they are wrong is to let the whole thing crash and burn.
Then we exclude them from having any futue input.

My premium spiked 40 percent in 2011 and it was pretty obvious that it was to prepare for Obamacare. Most insurers have been quietly raising the rates since 2009. It just isn't widely reported since the press doesn't want anyone to realize how socialism screws everyone until the damage is already done. Just like nobody talked about how TN, ME, MA all tried this years ago and it failed hard.

I enjoy your site, and this only confirms what I already guessed:
this country is doomed - proof was when O get re-elected...more stupid voters than not. Even my own family members (that I actually expected from) buy into the hype. How can grown adults believe all his promises? Is this what unionized public schools are churning out, clueless idiotic chumps? I feel sad for my kids.

Wait a minute. Do you mean to tell me that if a bunch of people who pay nothing jump into a plan, that the plan becomes more expensive for the ones who are contributing?
