New York "Riots"

  • Angry Brooklyn residents threw bottles at police Monday night as they marched in protest of this past weekend’s deadly police shooting in East Flatbush, 1010 WINS reported.

The NYPD dispatched officers in riot gear to respond, and one person was arrested for disorderly conduct, CBS 2 reported.

Dozens of officers stood guard in the aftermath of the protest. Police said it started peacefully, but then took an ugly turn as the crowd started to disperse.

[...] During the march, crowd members rushed into a Rite Aid at Albany and Church avenues around 9:20 p.m. In the melee a store worker suffered a gash to the head, police confirmed to CBS 2 and 1010. The worker was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover, police said.
A store or two was trashed, and one person went to jail. Just one. It continued for a second night. The jagoff who attempted to murder two police officers had an extensive record, too.

What with the wilding downtown, the Ford City melee and this crap up on the East Coast, we wouldn't be surprised to see some of these incidents pop up here shortly. We recall a few in years past around the west and south sides.  Maybe Garry can claim combating it as another idea he dreamed up in New York.

We've got youth unemployment over 25%. The jobs that are available are low skill with little room for advancement. Student loan debt is over $1 trillion and growing. An entire generation is being led into life as debt slaves. And I'm not even talking about the kids from the ghetto. I'd expect a lot more of this in the weeks, months and years to come.

It's not groups of teens or youths its Black savages looking to rob, hurt, destroy, batter anybody or anything in its path. It's been going on for 2 years now in Chicago but the city's hush order is trying to make the public think this doesnt exist. Its going on in Wisconsin and Michigan and now it appears to be happening on the East Coast. Most if not all is racialy motivated and the offenders are 99.9% black but instead of stating the facts, the liberal bias main stream media does everything in there power to leave out the racial makeup of the offenders and victims and the black mobs motives. Wait until this summer, we believe its going to be 10x worse. All the better reason to arm yourselves and prepare. What would you do if a black mob of 20 plus violent thugs came to your home breaking out your car windows, your house window and then attempting to enter your home where you, you wife and kids are? Enough said.

The media is trying to make it a racial thing but funny that all officers involved in the shooting were black or hispanic. The family says the victim was afraid of guns...Then why was he pointing a gun at officers, that doesn't matter right? Of course they blame the violence on the frustration of the community. How bout just lke when the Bulls would win a championship, it was an excuse for them to rob and steal...

I am stunned how this once great city has turned to an urban wild zoo.

I can just foresee what the outdoor resturant patrons will endure this summer. Also tourist and their small children.

Nothing will be said or done by the left wing JO politicians of this city. I am sure Mary from Maywood will blame the police and the store owners who react with force.

Very sad these mutts roam without fear.

My prayers are with the guys on patrol in the entire city. 20 years ago we could police and keep the dogs down, now the police are have to just sit back and watch.

Be proactive and end up getting fired, charged, and in the joint.

Glad to be retired but still concerned what you young coppers endure everyday. Keep in shape guys and try to keep your sannity in check. Stress kills coppers more then any rounds flying at you.

God bless all the great men and women of the CPD.

The savages are taking a page out of the Rahm handbook by not letting a crisis go to waste.

This afternoon in the Flatbush there was a press conference as the NYPD saturation teams were out in full force running their "Broken Window" strategy.

Bricks, bottles and rocks flew in the air last night and wouldn't doubt we see it again tonight. I Hope not tho.

------------------

City Council member Jumaane Williams held a press conference this afternoon to call for calm.

"What happened here in the past couple days is wrong," Williams said. "There are people--well-intentioned as they my be--who are coming into the community and capitalizing on a terrible situation and making it worse."

Williams blamed outside agitators for the numerous arrests made in recent nights, as police on horses and in riot gear have clashed with angry youths.

"We have 45 young people in jail now, some of them bleeding," Williams said. "Some of them had probation, parole, and were never told what would happen if they got arrested."

Not everyone attending the press conference agreed with Williams's assessment. Jose LaSalle, a founder of the Stop Stop-and-Frisk Freedom Fighters interrupted Williams mid-sentence.

"This is a police brutality issue," LaSalle shouted, disrupting the councilmember's statement. "It's not a community issue!"

***

This afternoon, police on horses, in cruisers, in mobile command trucks, and in helicopters blanketed the neighborhood, with a presence on every street corner.

Full story : http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2013/03/jumaane_william_1.php

They've called for a meeting at 7pm tonight to divert the angry mobs attention.

I've been a Sgt for the past 16 yrs and I have NO complaints. Then again I only worked a beat car as a PO so I had somewhat of an idea what to expect, and I am still in a district working the street. I never had a taste of any of the "good spots" so I don't know what I'm missing.
As it stands now, I wouldn't trade my spot as a watch Sgt for any other.

Off topic New VRI rule.

recently I was assigned to the 1800roll call VRI at 61st and racine. As usual the Lt in charge gave his nightly speech about the daily changes to VRI and you wont believe this change.

It seems that there was a shooting in one of the "boxes" and Gerogas and Pattison wanted to know where the car was that was assigned to the affected box was at during the shooting. So after Gerogas and Pattison find out that the car assigned to the box where the shooting occurred was inputting contact cards from their VRI tour the following change has been implemented.

Officers who work VRI will not be allowed to leave the "BOX" to relocate to the closest district to input contact cards initiated during VRI. Instead, Officers will instead input the VRI contact cards during their next regular tour of duty. WOW!

I recall a General Order that states, "officers will complete all reports they initiated during their tour of duty prior to the end of their tour of duty".

SO now Georgas and Pattison(kool aid drinkers) are rewriting General Orders at their whim?

YOu cant make this shit up.
