The last of the officers nominated and advancing for Merit Sergeant will be interviewed by the Superintendent this week and the class will start on Apr 29th.
LT's class to start on May 6th.
Both classes to graduate on the same day and before Memorial Day weekend.
Keith Calloway was dep chief of OCD. Guillford to take pattersons spot and Calloway to take guillifords area 2 spot. Waldera is nuts but will be great in 024 loves workers and loves it when people get locked up... He takes care of his people. Good for tdub hopefully the deuce works out for you.

None of them are force multipliers, they cannot make up for the shortage of 2,000 police officers. Everyone in every job is expected to perform the job they are hired to do. You are not exempt because you are a cop and we are covered by union protections. guilliford is a decent guy. I worked for him in sos. he was able to survive the sos scandle and yes, he is a good boss. even to this day he takes care of people, is very pleasant with coppers and knows what he is doing. Word around is that whenever McCarthy leaves, weather its two months or 3 years Wayne is most likely a shoe in for supt. This is for sure though, McCarthy will be here until the next mayor election. If rahm wins McCarthy will leave and if Wayne is still around he will get the spot shortly after the election. so dont hold your breath, gmac still has a good amount of time as supt.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!I hope & pray that is not true. Every p.o. on that watch agrees on one thing; Sgt. C.H. lacks the content knowledge of a sergeant. I can tell you stories of him in 024 when he was a p.o. that will make you both laugh and cry.
I'm less concerned about how nice a boss is, I'm more concerned about how they obtained their high paying positions. Everyone deserves the same chance but of course we all know that's not happening. This two and three time merit bullshit needs to stop. Our pension fund is being drained by these political appointments and deserving officers will never get the same opportunity.

When he had gangs he stopped the transfer of numerous guys who were asked to come aboard at Narcotics and the Gang Investigations side. That's actually where you want him to be. When search warrants go bad it usually during the breach and entry. If he's part of the shooting he can't help you out on the paper.

Without knowing the circumstances, I'' add that he might have been doing the kid a favor. PPO=no union protection from a lot of things that could have gone wrong. He could be 40 for all I know but still call him a kid. LOL. Still would be one to me.

No, they sent him packing because many of the new people who interviewed for Narcotics 'refused' to be buy officers once they arrived at Homan.Narcotics was forced to shuffle their teams around so each team would have at least a couple of buy officers.But the newbies get a take home car and get to tell all their friends how cool they are because they work for Narcotics.

i have personally work with waldera and he will not hurt anyone.true he is carefull,but is that such a bad trait.he knows the job and he is one of the smartest coppers i know,and he is not merit in any promotion.only a screwup would not like him and if you do screw up and you are a half way decent copper he will help you out.

He has done more to help the police by being an active participant at Police (10-1) benefits and has given up countless hours of his own time to aid coppers in distress in addition of working a 60hr (if not more) work week. There are coppers from 008, 009 & OCD that can contest to that. All you have done is bitch and moan. So you can go F*** yourself.

I worked in 011 in the mid 90s when Waldera was sent there as a newbie sergeant. He seemed as a competent and concerned young sergeant at the time.

guilliford is a decent guy. I worked for him in sos. he was able to survive the sos scandle and yes, he is a good boss. even to this day he takes care of people, is very pleasant with coppers and knows what he is doing. Word around is that whenever McCarthy leaves, weather its two months or 3 years Wayne is most likely a shoe in for supt. This is for sure though, McCarthy will be here until the next mayor election. If rahm wins McCarthy will leave and if Wayne is still around he will get the spot shortly after the election. so dont hold your breath, gmac still has a good amount of time as supt.
And just how did Gulliford escape the knife during the SOS scandal? He and Tobias were both there in the thick of it, Tobias as that unit's commander, Gulliford as the lt. directly under Tobias...and both feigned complete ignorance of the scandal that brewed directly under their feet. Yet both have managed to hang onto their exempt ranks...Gulliford even was promoted to Deputy Chief. Things that make you go hmmmm.

well dog, maybe you should have a beat tag as your SUPPOSED TO HAVE and not dog your jobs, your watch and your fellow officers by sitting in the hole on midnights. Your lucky im not your boss, because your attituide sucks. guess what, we might be the police but we are still at work. Everyone at every job has rules and regulations they have to abide by. Everyone in every job is expected to perform the job they are hired to do. You are not exempt because you are a cop and we are covered by union protections. If your not doing something your supposed to be doing(like in the private sector) then you get in trouble... and what the hell kinda cop are you??? Dont you know that sitting in one place(sleeping, closing your eyes, checking facebook etc) can get your dumb a## killed. Prime example, the officer who was parked and ambushed and killed. grow up... another supercop who knows it all and ends up being the hot dog getting people hurt screaming for help cuz' he races to every stupid call.
15 years into it, my priorities are hopefully what they always should've been: my health, your health, and going home to pay bills and raise kids. I've slept on every watch with the best of them (to get our rest) and with the worst of them (to keep some knuckleheaded know-nothings like you as far away from a job as I could) because I'm tired of having to be the one figuring out how to keep both of us out of a jam. I've done it in the worst shitholes and the best neighborhoods alike... It's like everything else, you figure out the best way to do it, for 5 min. or 5 hours (it shuts up in 011 quite nicely during a heavy snow), and we still woke up for assists and managed good shootings, good arrests, and, believe it or not- a few d/c's... as for your beat tag? you are a silly scared, little kiss ass that sets the tone in the bosses favor, running around making sure you whip up a perfect little makeshift beat tag, even printing one up and taping it just so... loser. Go home and tell your friends and family you're a cop. It's all you have, and that framed honorable that sits under your pillow, "job well done," applause.
Leo doesn't give two shits about anyone but himself. . . That guy will do anything to look like the hero and that he is out for your best interest-if there is some credit to be had.
