New Info/Changes to the Story
If you've been following the Boston story, and we're sure most of us have been trying to, a lot of changes and new info today:
- No unexploded ordnance was discovered;
- No "person of interest;"
- The devices were most likely packed into kitchen pressure cookers, transported in black nylon backpacks, very basic in construction. They were "featured" in Al-Queda's on-line magazine, and as most are aware, coordinated multiple bombings are a hallmark of their operations.
Now an appeal to the public from investigators for any and all film taken during the marathon. Hopefully, this isn't a desperation move with the trail growing cold already.

How many of the $140. dollar pressure cookers were sold in multiple orders?Basically more than 3 or more. One for testing the theory, and 2 at least for the marathon explosion. Who would buy more than one pressure cooker? If bought on the internet with a credit card, that sounds like a clue.
just like it gets made to look and sound by overly speculative assessments that the "extreme right" seems responsible, the truth could just as easily be classic counter-terrorist tactic of making it look like it was a right-leaning motive when, perhaps, a seething so-called progressive left simply leaves markings made to look that way. This would provide sweeping cover for a bumbling, inept, ineffective in-over-its-head naive oval office. Suddenly a president who can't lead on the economy, ignores the debt, overreaches on gun-control, waffles on immigration, or can't submit a single budget, and an entire administration bloated with unqualified blowhard egomaniacs who can't handle North Korea, Iran, Syria, Russia or China, get a chance to hit reset on the one thing that will buy unity and a blank check: National Security.

Judging by the power of the internet practically anyone that can read and have a chip on their shoulder could have seen it. Sort like a copycat hitter as pointed out on other blogs most likely NOT domestic. As in the past right wing groups usually go after state and federal targets or groups this person or persons are pissed off at U.S. as a whole. Perhaps as retaliation for drone strikes? One can only guess

Someone already turned in a photo of the second bomb in a shopping bag leaning against one of the fences on near the curb. Maybe it's because I'm from a police family, but I see that and I'm politely begging a PO to investigate.
I swear when they showed the photo on tv, I almost yelled out "Run!!" to the innocent people standing around it.
If this was a legitimate terror attack it would have been much larger in scale and magnitude. If this was the "right wing, nut job, patriot hero" type, it too would have been much larger in scale. My gut feeling is that this was the work of some teenager/ college kids trying to gain fame.
Most bombings by Al-Queda in crowded places like this involve a suicide bomber to insure the package is delivered. The young diplomat that was recently killed was on foot and killed by suicide bomber.

It's definitely complicated & after the bombing it's obvious the citizens, Dr's, Nurses, Police, Fire, EMT's, etc. responded spectacularly, but I'm shocked packages like that could be allowed to lay around unattended & unnoticed by the obviously large security contigency. I mean isn't that Terrorism 101 at such events? Granted, I'm not an expert but it does seem like it's something that should be addressed. Perhaps they were dropped and detonated quickly.
Another interesting thing brought up by some who label those who bring it up as the nutjob right is this False Flag issue. I scof at that pretty much except that before the detonation at 2:53pm EST, the Boston Globe did in fact tweet, "BREAKING NEWS: Police will have controlled explosion on 600 block on Boylston St". That address is essentially right on the spot the explosions occurred. That is some coinky dinky. Who tweeted that at the BG and who told the BG that? Also there is a report of a University of Mobile Track coach who was on local Boston (I think) NBC affiliate TV channel 15 (video on net) stating that he saw authorities with bomb-sniffing dogs at the Start and Finish of the Race and authoritties were saying it was just a test by loudspeaker. If accurate, that's really odd and an even greater coincidence.
This is going to be interesting. Domestic or Foreign Muslim (my guess given location and what is known about bomb & how they've used maiming as the obvious goal here), Rightwing nut-job, bombing test by authorities (way bizarre and scary implications), same affiliation as Behghazi attack?
Pray for the dead and survivors & pray all those who did this are identified and ultimately killed.
I think it's time to ban these high-capacity Pressure Cookers. There is NO NEED for a family to have a 6 liter Pressure Cooker when a 2 liter one will suffice. The Military (who run mess halls) will be exempt. Backround checks and manatory "cooling off" periods should be instituted and the "Garage Sale Loophole" needs to be abolished IMMEDIATELY! Legitimate restaurants and chefs will of course be allowed to keep them provided adequate security exists. They will not, however, be able to give them to another restaurant or cooking club should the restaurant or cooking club fold.
And for those concerned with the Constitution, the Founding Fathers knew that we had to eat, but would never have envisioned this nightmare scenario of cooking implements used to kill so many people.

Hey Dick Tracy, while it is obvious you come from a long line of trained/paid observers, that picture of a shopping bag that you shouted "Run" at your tv about, is most likely not the bag used to house bomb #2. If you detect a little deeper into the after picture you'll notice the mailbox it is sitting next to is almost unscaved. But keep up the good work I hope you can help crack this case soon.

If the perp / perps were smart, they would have ordered one from several outlets - e.g. 1 from Amazon, 1 from Target, 1 from Chef's Catalog, etc. They would have them delivered to a mailing service box rented from Kinkos or the like; these places receive numerous parcels every day so it wouldn't raise suspicions on the part of the UPS person. Odds are, unless the perp was clearly off and caught someone's attention, he (or she) won't be caught any time soon.

But, at O'Hare, an unattended bag gets nothing more than a ten-foot buffer zone til 1)some special employment guy picks it up and opens it, or 2) a canine guy arrives.
CNN reports someone's been arrested based on photos and video taken at the bomb site.
There is a suspect in custody.

It does? How do you figure?
The recipe for making a pressure cooker device has been disseminated over the internet and through other sources for some time, it's a fairly ordinary device, as far as IED's go.
So far, nobody is claiming responsibilty for the bombing, which leads me to believe that whoever planted the device may be more homegrown than you think. Perhaps somebody who had a beef with the city of Boston over something as stupid as a parking ticket.

Apparently, poster number two is the only smart kid in the room. Nobody else possibly comes close, right?
But, poster 2, the bomb near the finish line was by the mailbox. The subject here is the OTHER bomb.
Oh, and the word you want is 'unscathed'. That word you invented doesn't mean anything.
Be glad we've taught our police families so well that this poster knows to get help when they see something suspicious.

Ok I'm going out on a limb here.
I am a member of a Chicago area police bomb squad. Take that for what it is, but make sure all of you keep your head on a swivel and do not take chances when it comes to "unattended bags" or "suspicious" items, etc.
I always say, if there is a doubt then there is NO doubt. Take a step back and reasses the situation. That bomb can not be targeted at one person, it doesn't see black, white, left or right, conservative or liberal.
We all think we know, at this point, which ideology carried out this cowardly attack and it may be true. Remember that if the truth does not support the liberal secular progressive ideological agenda, they'll start spinning until the reader or watcher gets dizzy and stops reading, speaking or writing. Debate based on facts is not in the cards; they'd lose.
We're in a world now that can not and should not suffer fools in "leadership" roles. Tough decisions need to be made regardless of political fallout.
Regretfully, we no longer have a representative republic, we have a totalitarian democracy, where the useful idiots receiving free stuff have now outnumbered the "workers" and it is going to take a miracle to reverse.
This is the time to be slow to anger but a perfect time for us as a nation to demand more from our "leaders". They should be working FOR us all, not just one party or race, creed or religion. Stop hiding behind your color or religion, become an American!!!
If you need help, start reading John Locke, Charles De Montesquieu, the Federalist papers, Mark Levin, etc to find out why this country was founded and how people's so different were able to come together at a time dominated by the British Empire. In that instance, David slew Goliath and began a country for all people yearning for freedom. Has it been tarnished? yes, but the USA is still the best this world has to offer.
Dennis Miller had an interesting observation tonight on O'Reilly. He said with the heavy use of drones, the days of Jihadists announcing they are responsible for murder and mayhem may be over.
With our boarders wide open for years, domestic terrorism (Fort Hood), foreign terrorist (Benghazi), many of our strong military leaders forced to retire, a President who is looked at by other world leaders as weak, a religious group that has declared war on The U.S. can anyone say this was really a surprise. They swept the area of the marathon with dogs before the race but what good does that do when the bombers arrive 3 hrs tothe race carrying the bombs
