Court for Officer Rick Francis

Today at 26/Cal:
  • Officer Francis was killed in the line of duty nearly five years ago when a mentally unstable woman grabbed his service revolver on a bus at Belmont and Western.

His murderer has been at 26th and California for years now.

Commander Voulgaris of 019 has asked all sworn personnel if they can be present in the courtroom on Monday, April 15th, Courtroom 302, at 9:30am "to show support for our fallen colleague and his family."
If you're in the building, stop by.

Just a few days ago, I happened to be at Belmont and Western, next to the station, to hail a cab after purchasing a baby shower gift at Toys R Us which is next to the Belmont Station. I was saddened by the memory of the murder of Officer Rick Francis and honestly, he was all I could think about as I stood there so close to where he had been murdered. It just so happened, he helped me many years ago during an unfortunate circumstance I experienced while living in Old St. Bens neighborhood. What a kind and gentle soul. I think about him. And how his life was stolen. I pray for justice in the murder of such an honorable Chicago Police Officer. I pray for his soul, for his family, friends and especially his brothers in blue who mourn him to this day.

Please think about him tomorrow, and if you can be in that courtroom early tomorrow morning, I know it will make a difference. Officer Francis deserves your presence. He deserves justice. God bless and protect the CPD. Please stay safe.

A trure gentleman and hero. Rick showed me the ropes on the wagon in 018 back in the early 90's... He is missed by countless Chicagoans and taught countless green coppers to be better. RIP, you will always be in my thoughts.

I was on furlough that day, July 2. I woke and read the online Tribune and hurried to get dressed and get down to work. I absolutely was shocked through and through, I saw Rick every day, we had a few words every day. And by a fucking savage bag lady to boot, that animal isn't worth the price of a bullet through her fucking head and she murders a policeman.

So wrong, so sad. Never ever trust anyone out there, always protect your weapon, always. When in doubt, shoot them, sort it out later.

Rick didn't deserve that, he should have been retired with his family now, taking the kids places.

Instead some mentally ill savage has been living on our dime charged with his murder and she is going to trial with a lawyer we pay for so she can go to a prison we pay for and get treatment we pay for while eating food we pay for and wearing clothes we pay for. She never had it so good.

I wish I were there that night so I might have done something.

Dump this bitch in for life with no posibility, and get her a nice wobbly, slippery, top-level triple-bunk in some building gymnasium or hallway where the lights never go off.

Not that people like this even notice that very much is wrong in the first place...

Sad for him, sad for his family. Larger numbers of ghetto trash show for crack addict repeaters breaking parole than this showing today. what gives? and who gives a fuck if the courtroom is very hot too? what the effing hell??

Short notice, guys. Maybe it wouldn't be so pathetic if someone gave us some notice.
Since FOP isn't doing it, could you tell us WHEN it's continued to, so we can make some plans in advance?

She is used to sleeping in her family's basement or the 019th District front lobby. That stench near the desk on the Belmont side was grequently her. A large shapeless blob of shit underneath stinking rags among us thanks to the open door policy of letting any mentally in disease ridden savage sleep anywhere for as long as they want.
