Shots Fired at Police
- A Chicago police sergeant was shot at while following possible robbery suspects in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.
The shooting happened at Wilson and Kilpatrick around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the sergeant was following the suspects relating to an armed robbery of a liquor store at Cicero and Foster when they fired at his car.
The sergeant did not fire back. He was not hit, but a bullet struck another vehicle.
The person inside that car was not hurt.
Two suspects were caught and taken into custody.
Someone related the offenders were captured by ISP after a vehicle chase up the Edens Expressway. Well done and thank goodness the sergeant is okay.

Seriously Garry and Rahm are clueless. They think putting police resources in the ghetto to sit on drug corners is a good idea. The idea is retarded because now the taxpaying areas are getting worse and people are moving OUT of Chicago.

Thank God no police officers or innocent civilians were hurt. Now that the offender's are arrested they will do some serious hard time right? WRONG! Chances are they will do less than 10 years!

Thank god he's ok after a certain DSS in 017 told all the 17th district cars to return to the district. Shots fired at the police, an on view armed robbery and cars told dont go help one of our own. This guy thinks he a commander, read the order DSS, you are the boss of the building, not the street. There were several more than competent supervisors on the street that night and they were in charge. This is what happens when a DSS is a sgt. Who thinks he's in charge. This from a man who has been saved more by the people he knows but not what he knows. Another example for the need to have a true W/C . We are doomed.

Robberies are really out of control in 016 now that everybody's been transferred to the South and West Sides. Even the shitheads from North Chicago know about the lack of manpower apparently.

It's amazing how this sgt and his tact team always have big time drama just before a promotion list is due. If story is true I'd be amazed. Way to many once upon a time stories in the past.......Everrybody knows......

just another reason to NOT do anything off duty unless it affects you directly. I am not like that, but sure does make you think. I cant blame someone that just turns their head !! The W/C was a jerk to call off those cars and leave our guy alone.
