Felony Murder Charge

  • A judge set bail at $2 million today for a Far South Side man who has been charged with murder in connection with a police chase and crash that killed a woman driving to work, authorities said.

Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. set bail at $2 million for Timothy Jones, 20, of the 12500 block of South Union Avenue, during a hearing in Cook County criminal court.

[...] Jones was fleeing officers after a home invasion around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when a police SUV crashed into a car driven by Jacqueline Reynolds, 56, at 76th Street and Yates Boulevard, police said.
The blame game isn't anywhere near finished here and we wish the Officers best of luck in the upcoming events.

When the family requested the fleeing offender NOT be charged with murder, the comment was made that he was not the ONLY one responsible for the woman being hit.
Here comes the lawsuit against the City. (But, of course, let the criminal who instigated the event off the hook.)

Adding this one to the total body count, we stand at:

2013: 110
2012: 177
2011: 109
2010: 136
2009: 124

One of these years is not like the other.

Lawyers already got to the victim's family.

They want charges dropped, and forgiveness for offender.

Officers are being set up for law suit, period.

Learn from this one, all you junior ghetto ranger poleeces.......

Trying to explain accountability to these mutts is just an absolute waste of time. They have been taught for generations that they are not responsible for anything, and all of their short comings are someone else's fault.
The best thing any responsible person can do is to just avoid these persons at all possible cost, until such time as we elect new leaders who will no longer subsidize their nonsense.

This is exactly why chases are bad. The city will pay dearly for this one.

The family will refuse to show up for hearings until the cse is dismissed. Then Lovey and Lovey will slap the lawsuit on the City. We all know it's the ghetto way. Life is cheap, until your dead. Then, if there is someone with deep pockets to blame, you were worth millions to the family. You either get a sports signing, a record deal, or a payout. Education and work ethic have no value to them. Get what you can because it's owed to you. Cradle to grave "Me first" mentality.

If you can't chase a murder suspect we might as well stop being the police alltogether.I understand the danger involved in chases I was in many years ago. You just can't hand over the streets to the criminals even though it puts people in harms way.Doing nothing is worse than trying to apprehend these asshole's.

Imagine what the murder count would be if the weather was normal this year. Just normal. Not like 2012 but regular temps and clear skies. Oh wait! That's right!! Gmac has ruled that weather has NOTHING to do with crime.

They can't drop the charges, it called murder. Believe it or not, if a federal judge does not dismiss this, either have a no chase policy no matter what even if it's the Boston bombers or pull the entire policy. Hell why even have cars, get rid of them.

The "ghetto" lotto? You are an idiot. That's all you can say about the deceased without knowing anything about her. She's dead due to T/C involving police, therefore you insert "ghetto" into the equation. Moron!

You must be a clueless, liberal moron. You are defending a culture of which you apparently have no knowledge. It is way-different. High values do not apply in the overwhelmingly number of such instances.

To: Felony Murder???? Is there a Misdemeanor Murder?

You obviously slept during the academy. If during the commission of a felony someone loses their life as a result of the felony, the offender can be charged with murder whether they actually caused the death or not.... Example, bank robbery and as robbers are exiting the bank exchange shots with officers and one of the officer's rounds strikes and kills a bystander and at least one of the robbers, the surviving offenders are charged with the death of the bystander as well as the death of their partner.

Evidently education means nothing to you and furthermore you should have stayed awake in the academy. The next of kin DOES NOT determine if an offender is charged with murder. They can skip court dates into perpetuity it won't matter. Also, you're a POS!

Of course it's a shame an innocent person lost their life because of a selfish act by a savage beast. I doubt most people who read this blog think all blacks count on lawsuit money, but until the black community embraces accountability and responsibility there will be that perception by many people. It is what it is.

1. Has the attorney representing the accident victim's family had any contact with the attorney representing the offender?

2. Have any of the offender's 'people', or 'folks' contacted any members of the accident victim's family?

3. Has the attorney representing the offender had any direct contact with any of the members of the accident victim's family?

A Federal judge dismissing a state murder charge? I missed that in law school.

In a murder case, the State acts as the complainant. In Federal murder trials, of which there are very few, it is the Federal Government. Timothy McVeigh was a Federal Murder case. He got the hot shot relatively quickly due to his dropping all appeals and allowing justice to be administered posthaste.

Well smart guy, if areas which are predominantly white, had over 500 murders last year, gang infested neighborhoods, high rates of drug use, absentee fathers, and other irresponsible behavior and I was a part of that community I would speak up. Obviously that type of behavior isn't conducive to being a part of, or advancing, a civilized society and I wouldn't want my kids growing up in that environment so assuming I couldn't leave that area I would attempt to change it. It's called responsibility and taking ownership of your plight instead of waiting for the government (or fill in the blank) take care of other people's bad decisions.

Englewood is a state of mindlessness.

The differences between the two are palpable, to say the least.

the 'right of way' defined by laws of man is a fantasy.

the 'right of way' defined by the laws of physics is reality.

put your faith in the latter and you will, more likely than not, survive.

put your faith in the former and, not so much.

even most squirrels know this.
