Off Duty CFD Killed
Downstate, but we have no idea why the Sun Times wrote the article like they did:
- A Chicago firefighter and paramedic was killed Thursday morning when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a two semi-trucks on a highway in Springfield.
Sean Sloe, 37, was merging onto Interstate 55 near Clearlake Avenue in Springfield when the crash occurred at 10:46 a.m. Sloe was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an Illinois State Police spokesman. He was driving an Aprilia motorcycle, an Italian-made motorcycle made for speed.
Sloe worked out of a fire station at 6030 N. Avondale in the Norwood Park neighborhood, said fire department spokesman Larry Langford.
So without any investigation or witnesses, the writer has attributed the crash to speeding. Must be nice to be omniscient.
Condolences to the CFD.

Built for speed?? Yeah, when I ride I prefer a slow, underpowered Bike. It's much safer.
RIP Brother.
I was returning home from the Springfield Police Memorial and saw the scene . Looked pretty bad. RIP firefighter...Prayers to his family.

Truly sorry for the loss to CFD.
Neither CFD or CPD can ever afford to lose a single one of our brothers & sisters.
Very sad, RIP Sean. Condolences to family and friends on CFD.
ISP Sgt.
God bless him and his family.
America's Heros...
until the cocksuckers in the media need to sell a story.
Fuck every last one of you media whores that are party to casting aspersions on a man that had more character and worth in the tip of his pinky finger than you rotten bastards will ever have combined.
May pain, grief and suffering find their way to the writer(s), editor(s) and any other Sun-Times parasite associated with allowing this story to go to press as it reads. There is a special place in Hell for the likes of you.
RIP Sean Sloe. And our condolences to his CFD and civilian families.
RIP Brother.
RIP
I-55 at the Clear Lake exit is right next to the State Police Academy. What a shame. RIP brother.
It was a hit and run. ISP caught the truck driver
why was there no info on the paramedic? anyway, this was tragic accident and condolences go out to the families and friends of the passing.
RIP SEAN.Condolences to the family.Reporters are always right, built for speed ,isn't every vehicle? It's not a horse, but they infer that he was speeding,JERKS!
RIP to our "first responder" brother.
It's always a sad day when we lose one of our own.
It's important that we continue to honor our fallen, sick or injured, whether it be at St. Jude, CPD Candlelight Vigil, Springfield or DC Memorials.
Those who have to work or have family obligations can offer a silent prayer in your own way on their behalf.
We are all we have. Don't let anyone forget or take it away.
All Gave Some Because Some Gave All.
The press sucks ASS!
