Roseland is Safe! We Swear!
Aside from the bloodletting last night where somewhere between 3 and 6 people got ventilated in Roseland, these little gems popped up in our comment sections:
- ha wanna hear the best but its all hush hush. Two brooks students were robbed today right out front of the school on 111th. But its being kept out of the media. Sure its safe bring the family.
- The shooting at Oakwood and Cottage Grove last night happened as a high school girls softball game was being played. Not a word about that in the press.
So a couple of people robbed right in front of the school. Girls playing in a softball game and someone gets shot right there by the kids.
We'd say the Payton parents called it exactly right and ought to be commended for looking out for their children.

Never one to let any sort of controversy go to waste that slime ball was at a Brooks game glad handing everyone to " show support to Brooks". Of course he travels with a small army of bodyguards so he felt it was safe.
Police shooting in roseland tonight. Police fine. If these people think its ok to shoot at the police, then what would they do to a high schooler from a different neighborhood? They have no respect for human life.
Chicago Tribune Breaking News is reporting shots fired at and by the police in the Roseland neighborhood. Not too many details at this time, and it was last updated about 2:30am.

Surprise, surprise......the powers that be are throwing the Payton baseball coach under the bus because he had the audacity to answer reporters' questions truthfully before the proper spin was decided upon.

Normally I am immune to the bleeding heart liberal nonsense in the media but the vilification of Payton parents has forced me to speak up. To call a parent racist for not driving their child down to that shithole on a Saturday night is asinine. Shame on the media, shame on the mayor and politicians and shame on the public who went along with this story. The refusal to put ones children in harms way is what separates good and decent law abiding American men and women from the fools who shoot and rob in and around Roseland. It's not about race it's about a clear and present danger. It should not matter why the people in roseland are more likely to shoot you, it should only matter that they are in fact more likely to shoot you. Cry me a river about how blacks are disenfranchised and forced into a life of crime- I may even agree with a small amount of it- but I will not take the first step towards us all being color blind and living in harmony by bringing my child into harms way as a show of good faith. The double standard that is race relations-from blacks vs whites to immigrants to Muslims- is becoming harder to ignore everyday. Almost all of the black neighborhoods in Chicago are dangerous- ESPECIALLY for white people. It is a fact! So until the powers that be within and without the black community can fix their problem I will not tolerate myself or others like me being disparaged as intolerant racists for refusing to bring our children there on hot summer weekend nights! It's time to call a spade a spade already!
As a racist white guy, I would only risk my life going into the Roseland neighborhood , for a caramel cake donut from old fashioned donuts! lol

No; it's TRUTHFUL to point out the truth.
If the parents knew that Roseland was not safe from crime reports - how would they know the race of those within Roseland (living or crime-ing around) unless they actually WENT there? They wouldn't. So how does that make them racist.

The Payton parents are all liberals who talk a good game. They would be the first to beef on a copper if a copper gave a flash mob dog a push.
The poor kids playing ball in Roseland get screwed because the hood is shit. Met many a good people in Roseland who are captive and their alderman is filling his pockets.
Let the Payton players take the CTA and get a taste of real life. Or have their daddy the stock broker rent a limo with an off duty copper driving it. Cost of living in city Mr. Lib. Hope your taxes in Lincoln Park go up another 30 percent.

Oakwood and Cottage Grove is the low end...and it is nowhere close to Roseland.

Funny, I see white people coming and going in black neighborhoods every day conducting business. Store vendors, heating/AC repairmen, FedEx and UPS deliveries...yet I never see them being shot or carjacked. Yet over 90% of all shooting victims in those black neighborhoods are black themselves.
Sounds like white folks might be drinking the Kool aide they talk about here so much.
i can't afford chicago schools and also don't want to rish the safety of our kids. keep your kids out of this city. i'm lucky enough to have a ex wife who live in the burbs. it's getting bad in the home front as well.

I've seen lone F/2 social workers going into projects alone and without fear to handle their clients. You guys got pistols,radios,and rifles!!!!!
