Feds Want JJJr's Houses
- Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to order former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, former Ald. Sandi Jackson, to forfeit their homes in Chicago and Washington, D.C., as part of their upcoming sentencing next week.
The Jacksons are set to be sentenced on Wednesday, after the two pleaded guilty to criminal charges.
Jackson Jr., 48, has pleaded guilty to misusing $750,000 in campaign funds for personal expenses, while Sandi, 49, has pleaded guilty to failing to report that money as income on their tax returns. The two resigned from their elected offices before pleading guilty.
In a motion filed with the federal court in D.C. on Friday, federal prosecutors asked a judge to allow them to seize the Jacksons’ homes in Chicago and Washington, as well as a retirement account worth nearly $80,000 to help pay off $750,000 in forfeiture, plus another $750,000 in restitution the feds have sought from the couple.
No reason these convicts should be spared the punishment due - they are no better (and after conviction, they are certainly worse) than those who actually obey the law.

Does this mean that his kids will have to transfer out of the exclusive school that they attend in D.C.? Maybe they can come back to Chicago and attend that shabby Lab School at University of Chicago where Rahm sends his kids. Also, they should make JJJ pay for the election he forced the tax-payers to pay for which took place while he was trying to negotiate a Plea Deal. He knew he was going down, but he figured if he remained a Congressman he could leverage his position. Apparently it did not work.
Take their pensions too. Why would Sandy Jackson even get an Alderman's check since she was living in D.C.? Why weren't the residents of her ward outraged? What kind of service can she do from Washington?
