Funny Story

Louisiana:
  • Kenner police say officers responding to a call about a sport utility vehicle being driven recklessly on Interstate 10 found a 10-year-old boy behind the wheel when they pulled the vehicle over later on a city street.

Two women in the vehicle were arrested. Police said both allegedly said that they told the10-year-old to drive because they were intoxicated.

The child's grandmother, 54-year-old Brenda Byrd, was arrested Wednesday morning, along with 48-year-old Sheila Joiner. They were booked with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle.
We were just greatly amused.

The kid is about the age where they start operating BIG farm machinery.

Road drivin'?

Hmmm... Not so much...

The only sober one in the car was a 10 year old. I love it.

The kid probably drives better than most north siders. Their traffic is terrible.

I guess that's one way to avoid a costly DUI charge!

I emailed this link to my son in Louisiana, and he replied:

"If they each had one or more DUIs already, which happens down here more often than you'd think, they probably made the smart decision from an "avoiding legal penalties" perspective."

Did they check the kid's blood-alcohol level?

Is it a lesser change than aggravated DUI? If so, than logically convoluted for the drunks.

The punishment for child endangerment is probably lighter than drunk driving. Especially if either of the women in the car had been guilty of DUI before...

OT, funny story or, maybe pathetic. St. Sen Cullerton speaking to the press today after the "emergency"meeting with Gov. potatohead and the leperchaun, a reporter asking the sen. a question and addressing him as "sen.","uh, you mean, Mr. President?" no wonder jackshit gets done in this shithole of a state.

The kid didn't kill any innocent people, which is probably better than his drunken Grandma and her friend could have done.
