Clerk Beaten Over a Shirt Size
A guy who probably doesn't have a lot of say in what a store orders to keep on the shelf:
- A store clerk was attacked by a man with a baseball bat this morning
after being told the store did not carry the size of tank top shirts he
requested, police said.
The attack happened between 10:30 and 11 a.m. at a convenience store on the 5500 block of West Belmont Avenue in the Cragin neighborhood, said Chicago Police News Affairs [...].
The 51-year-old clerk was behind the counter of the store when a man went into the store and asked the clerk if he had triple extra large sized tank top t-shirts....
After the clerk told the man the store did not carry the item, the man pulled out a baseball bat and began beating the clerk, [...]. After beating the clerk, the man fled with the bat.
Amazingly, the Tribune prints a description of the offender:
- The suspect is being described as black, between 23 and 30 years old, between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 6 feet tall and between 200 and 250 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair and a dark complexion and was last seen wearing a red bandanna and white tank top shirt...
Over a t-shirt.

The offender was't described as a M/B in the article that I just read in my morning Sun Times. I guess that the paper believes that they are helping the police and the public by being inclusive of all males that are 300 + lbs. etc. etc., no need to narrow down the search for a possible offender using reasonable parameters is there.

So what was the race of the victim?? That could be more of an interest?? Did the offender target the victim?

The article I read said M/1.
Channel 7 News reported this story at 4:30 pm and also failed to report the race. Referred to him as a "customer"
Best post. 70 Black people shot and 13 Black people killed over the 4 th of July weekend. Your right the white people are to blame. It's time for the white people to start rioting and burning and looting.
I am an American Chicago Police Officer who happens to be black. I have been a police officer for 24 years and grew up in Englewood with a strict mother and a loving grandmother. My father was a dead beat who left when I was 5 years old. My childhood included school, sports, family and church. There was no hanging out. I joined the Marine Corp at 19 years old and served with honor. I left the Corp and became a Chicago Police Officer. Throughout my life I've had to deal with racist people. But I can tell you those cases were hurtful and often times just plain mean. The offenders were white but also black. I have met far better people that are kind and genuine and I hate to tell this to my people but they have been white or Hispanic. When I visit my neighborhood I am not welcomed or I am on heightened alert against the Black Criminal Element. I live in 17 and my white neighbors treat me with respect and kindness.
My point. The Black Community embarrasses me as a as an educated black man that is finishing his Masters Degree. The fake reverends and crooks like Jessie Jackson and Sharpton are pathetic. I want to apologize for the behavior of my people. We are killing our own faster then any white people ever have. We elected a black man twice into the highest, most powerful office in the world. President Obama, has not inspired not one youth in Chicago. These black thugs could care less. This has not inspired our youth. The problem is the non existing family structure, laziness and lack of honor, integrity and morals. I apologize.
Solution. Drug test any section 8, welfare, link card recipient. Next a work force for every black, white or Hispanic male or female that is not working or in school. You have a choice; school, work or military. You will clean parks, schools, streets, empty lots, shovel snow. Abandoned buildings and lots owed by the city will be rehabbed or vacant lots turned into gardens. There are no volunteers. Mandatory work and school. You don't work then you don't eat. You want to have 6 kids. Good you will be helping running a daycare center in your neighborhoods. You will earn that money for spreading your legs with six different baby daddy's. You want to go to jail. Cool your ass will work. We can start by laundering all the uniforms and shining shoes being used in the work force. Feed the workers. No more hanging out!!!!!!

This is so so disgusting, why does the news media keep hammering young black men for these crimes, they don't have money to buy nice things like the white guys, and I feel real sorry for them, they can't get jobs because they are all filled by others since these nice fine african american guys can't afford alarm clocks to get up in the morning and go after jobs, Plus they don't have cars like the white guys, so this pushes them to car jack a poor little old lady, be it black or white, etc, etc, etc. These poor guys are being victimized by white devils and it really needs to stop.

Why are you apologizing, you did the right thing and made something of yourself. The ones who need to apologize are the so called community and political leaders who continue to race bait and keep the people of the good community stifled.
Instead of apologizing maybe get a few more people with the same moral attitude and challenge these false profits. There's a few out there, but there needs to be more and then, maybe we can work on relations between the races.
Until then I'll continue to judge by individual basis.
I was there...that story was bullshit.The family of the victim was hostile and belligerent. It was some shady deal done-bad or a shakedown / attempt to collect street tax. The victim knew the attacker and was not cooperating at all. The family said to us, "get out - fuck the police dept!"

To 08:58, this is the guy that wrote the 10:33 article, It is sarcasm to the highest, what I want to point out is that our society is screwedup big time, poor dude, always poor dude, The newspapers only write SHIt, because SHIT SELLS, the good news doesn't sell, it's boring and can't rile people up, the problem is all people of all races believe whatthey read, including that ZimmermaNn is WHITE. This is just an excuse to cause problems bylazy , dog asses. I am nearing my long career at the end of this year and really really feel sorry for the new breed cops, our department is too soft on crime and all of us are going to pay.
