Did anyone notice how the Department came out with some press release about how murders are down by 40 over the same period last year?
Did anyone notice that this is the first month that they haven't touted the "Month A 2012" vs "Month A 2013" comparison?
That would probably because July of 2013 showed an increase in murders when compared to July of 2012. So Garry and the rest of the New York boys only do month-to-month comparisons when it benefits their narrative and switch comparisons when something untoward manages to show up - say....like the downward trend reversing itself. That would be embarrassing, especially as we just had the coolest end-of-July period in recorded history.

Has anyone else noticed that there is an INCREASE in homicides?
McCarthy bragged about a:
50% drop in February
40% drop in April
30% drop in June
25% drop in July
If you follow the pattern, the gap between 2012 and 2013 is dwindling
And he still brags about it; Media doesn't pick up on the trend
So what does that mean for the decrease in the increase? It the increase increasing again? Time to just start playing hide the body again.
Next time McCrappy Accent is on WGN I would love to see little Tommy Skilling suddenly appear behind him with a massive weather graph comparing weather years to show that 2012 was an outlier. Would definitely warm my heart.

This is really getting insane! It's like during the Vietnam war. You turn on the news and you hear the daily "body counts" from the war! How many daily deaths are an acceptable number? They are dangerous, clueless idiots running the war machine.
We just as a stabbing homicide in 024. Does it count? Are they just counting the homicide by shooting? Anyway who cares.
Great post, sir! He looks at the data, picks out any favorable numbers and only discloses those. Since July 2013 homicides were greater that July 2012 homicides, he simply doesn't mention that, and talks about the ytd numbers, since those are still down! It is amazing how stupid the press people are in that they can't even challenge him when he speaks. If he wants to use the ytd, then the story should have been ' A decrease in the decrease'.
Hmmm...is there any good news in ANY bureau of CPD?? Lets say, uh-no! So a guy is found in the 009th District on the back porch of building that had a fire back in April. Was found by guys rehabbing building. Was classified as a Non-Criminal Death, but he was found under a bunch of rubble. Oh yeah, I forgot, he was found half inside a plastic bag. So that's why it was classified a NON-CRIMINAL DEATH. Killing people and crime in the City of Chicago ! ! !
