Ceriale Softball Event

This Sunday, the Annual Michael Ceriale Softball Tournament will be held at Hamlin Park. We just learned about it yesterday from Mike's cousin who said everyone is welcome to attend - softball, barbeque and a family friendly atmosphere. We don't have a start time nailed down.

If any one has specifics, post em here. We're sure there are plenty of guys who'd like to honor the memory of Officer Ceriale.

Although I'm not drinking the cpd cool aid anymore - I did save a special addition part of a news paper article detailing mike/partner/ rookies life on the job - tear jerker - and gave it to some of the young guns who could appreciate it even though they've never experienced nor will they working those high rise projects.

Was there any info prior to this? If there was I missed it. I would've loved to get a team together & honor one of our own heroes. In the future this should be well publicized. I guarantee there'd be a huge turnout!

As a close family friend of the Ceriale family, ALL CPD, friends and family are obviously welcome to come by the actual tourney or just stop in Roscoe VIllage Pub afterwards for a cocktail or two and celebrate the life of Mikey... Thanks SCC for posting this, I know his family/friends truly appreciate it!

Work in 012 and just heard the Ceriale Foundation is donating a bunch of equipment to fill out our gym. Heavy and speed bag and weight lifting equipment, etc. Rumor is cost is $4k. Picked us because Mike was assigned to Wood Street out of the academy. Worked with him and this is an outstanding way for him to be remembered. RIP Mike. Can't believe it's been 15 years.
