Anti-Gun Insanity

  • A police officer who dropped off his daughter at her Phoenix elementary school was asked by the school’s principal not to wear his uniform to the school because other parents were concerned that he was carrying a gun, MyFoxPhoenix.com reported.

Scott Urkov is a police officer for the Coolidge Police Department. The department told him not to comment to media inquiries, but immediately after he received the no-uniform request, he posted on Facebook.

"Nothing like your kids school calling and asking if I could not come to pick up my daughter in uniform cause parents were concerned when their kids came home telling them there was a man at school with a gun, “ he posted. “Are you freaking kidding me?"
A cop, in uniform, dropping off his daughter, IN ARIZONA, and certain people are afraid he might be carrying a gun, when in actuality, dozens of people in Arizona are probably dropping off their kids with guns in their purses, on their hips or somewhere in their vehicles.

I actually had a similar situation at the old Children's Memorial...my kid was there in the ER for an illness, and I met my wife there while working. When my son had to have a chest X-ray, they told me I couldn't go up with my gun because "it may scare the kids". They said security could lock it up in their office for me. I told them I was on duty and I wasn't locking up my gun anywhere. I ended up tucking it in my waist, under my vest. Kids could care less. It's the stupid lib-tard adults who think they're doing the kids a favor. Not sure if it's still policy at the new hospital though.

There is all kinds of insanity when it comes to schools. There was the story of a first grade kindergarten halloween party and one of the little boys was dressed in a store bought fire fighters costume. Well this costume has an axe in the belt an the principal called the policeand threw the poor kid out of school for having, not using a weapon. The police tried to make her see sense but to no avail. It got into the local media and the principal was made to look like the fool she was.

The next day the kid was taken to school in a fire engine.

If you ever get a call at a school for any such insanity never take custody of a child.

Children's memorial wouldn't let me in the building with my weapon, while i was in full uniform, going to visit my son after his heart surgery. I asked the security guard if they check people for weapons, he replied "no, we can't be searchin everybody that come thru that door.". Nice... Good thing an armed gunman didn't come in and shoot up the hospital staff, I would have had to throw a bed pan at him.

These same people would be the first to call the police when there is an incident, then beef how long it took to respond or how it was handled.

If you disapprove of any type of police presence in/around your school, if some armed, crazed person, God forbid should enter the school, call a lunch mom or have the school librarian read him a book until he surrenders.

It's happened right here at a local NW side CPS school on more than one occasion. Then again, you have to question the mental stability of some of these guys who show up to pick up their kid wearing shorts a T shirt and .45 that they go out of their way to expose! But there were two that I know of in uniform either coming from or going to work who were told to cover up by the Principal.

Don't even get me started on the procession of unmarked's picking up kids!

I am afraid you are underestimating the state of education in this country. The liberal view is prevalent in education from primary grades to the university. Even the text books are written to push the liberal, "progressive" view of the world on our children. The teachers and administrators give up on problem kids way too soon sending them to " alternative schools" where the border line kids can mingle with the hard core. Yes, my friends, it is all " for the children". Just after 9-11 principles were telling staff that they could not wear American flags on their garments because it was offense to some. Don't get me started on pay and benefits and my latest tax bill coupled along with underperforming schools and students.

Public schools are ran by a bunch of pussies.

It really is simple as that. They are so sissified they have the vapors if a kid even brings a GI Joe 3 inch tall figure that sports a gun. Or even draw a stick man with a gun on a piece of paper.

This is a far cry of the days when I, back in high school (1970), traded a H&R .22 revolver for a .25 FN Browning semi-automatic with the shop instructor in the parking lot of the high school. Yes a school teacher!

Now days all the school teachers seem to do is have sex with students (and get caught.)

I had a 8-10 yoa boy who said his teacher kicked him when she walked down his school room aisle. The mother was at the school raising holy hell. Wanted a police report and said she was going to sue CPS and teacher. I interviewed the teacher in a small room next to the office. Then did the same with the "victim" and came out of the room with him and told the mother that she was lucky for not being arrested for trying to file a false police report. She grabbed the little guy by the arm like a stuffed rag doll and stormed out of the office while cursing up a storm. The whole office staff stood up and gave me a standing ovation while the principal gave me a hug. True story. Felt great for the rest of the day. No "event" #, no report; 19 Paul says it all. Retired and loving it! Stay safe.

Wasn't there an incident similar to this in Chicago a while back? Some mental health facility called the police because one of the patients on the floor said he saw another patient with a gun. The hospital admin wanted the police, so as to not distress the patients, leave their weapons behind. To disarm to confront a possibly armed subject?

Fortunately the responding white shirt told her to stuff it.

Anyone else recall?

If so, the crazies are everywhere...

Simple solution, city hall loves to make up new ordinances. Draft an or ordinance that prohibits any business with a city license, hospital, school, or private residence from requiring any on duty police officer from disarming before coming on their property. If you want to live, own a business, run a hospital in the city of Chicago and expect police service, THE GUN IS PART OF THE PACKAGE!!!! The only place I will disarm is in a court room where there is a judicial order prohibiting weapons in the courtroom, there at least I know no one is armed and the planning field is level. Everyone else is a 19P.
