"No Ulterior Motive"

  • Red-light cameras are coming down at 18 Chicago intersections because they’ve reduced accidents — not to soften the blow of speed cameras around schools and parks, Mayor Rahm Emanuel insisted Wednesday.
The timing of the mayor’s announcement — just as speed cameras are about to start churning out $35 and $100 tickets in those areas — makes it look like Emanuel is throwing motorists a bone.

He appears to be giving drivers a small measure of relief from Big Brother surveillance just as they’ll be forced to endure even more of it — with 50 speed cameras in place by Dec. 31. Nine of those cameras already have been installed — around Gompers, Garfield, McKinley and Marquette parks.
If Rahm says it, is must be true....for the children and all that pap, right? We know he's the mayor and all, but his record of "truthful" statements leaves a bit to be desired.

Two news outlets reported the cameras would be relocated. So, Rahm is telling the truth. He's just neglecting to tell the WHOLE truth.
The man is very, very deliberate in what he says and how he says it.

I am not sure the population is ready for the truth, or would be able to handle the truth if it were broadcast. We are doomed.

we imagine that there's been a study done that has determined that the speed trap cameras are not printing enough tickets over the trial period.

therefore it would make sense to take out the red light cams in hopes to make the speed trap cams catch more taxpayers.

think of it like when you get that new credit card offer in the mail with the low-low-low teaser interest rate.

what i mean is in a few months you want to be able to boast about what a success these speed trap cameras are and you if you could temporarily inflate the dollars of revenue being generated by robbing them from the red light cams with removal -- then what a genius you are, right.

when the time comes no-one will talk about the number of dollars that were already being generated by the old red light cams.. oh-no.. it's going to be look at all the money being generated by the new speed trap cams. see what i mean. 40 --50 --70 percent of the money will likely be the same revenue that the old red light cams were generating -- we'll just have a new label on the funds

crime is down.

Move them around to get a better return, right Ballerino?

What a filthy little piece of shit he is. I have a feeling that the people are going to show him something with these cameras pretty soon. You can only push people so far.

BS" Its has been proven too many times that when the revenue from a camera goes down and stays down, the cameras are either removed or deactivated.

It costs like $2-3K a month a camera in "maintenance" fees so its all revenue based.

So, since the camera worked, we're going to remove them. Aaaaand then what? The cameras will just magically keep working, even though they are gone? This makes no f-ing sense. I wonder how many people hear this and actually wonder wtf they are REALLY doing. People who don't think something fishy is going on are truly special.

Rahm is throwing the motorist a bone alright.

But remember the acronym: BOHICA!

A bit a K-Y Jelly will make the insertion of that bone a bit easier on your nether Rahm hole.

tow their cars -- tow their cars.

when you're done and there's no cars left to tow steal their pensions and tell 'em you don't make the rules you just follow them.

yep. and if the grass gets over one inch high on your front lawn take the property too.

transfer that wealth baby. you may think that you're exempt but trickle-up poverty is coming your way. you can book it.
