Another Two Parolees
- A 20-year-old man on parole in a 2009 carjacking is the second person charged in the slaying of a veteran UPS employee who was gunned down in a robbery as he walked to a West Garfield Park "L" stop on his way to work late Tuesday, Cook County prosecutors said.
Charged Friday afternoon was Derrick Williams, 20, who police said was the gunman who fatally shot Michael Sullivan, 53, as he walked to the Pulaski Green Line "L" stop on his way to work. Earlier Friday, Rayshon Williams, 16, was ordered held on $1 million bond after being charged as an adult with murder Sullivan's slaying.
And thanks to Governor Potatohead, the democratic run state prisons and parole board, a violent criminal is out in near record time:
- Derrick Williams was paroled from prison in May in connection with an aggravated vehicular hijacking that took place about 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 18, 2009, in the 200 block of North Karlov Avenue, according to court and police records. He had been sentenced to serve 7 years. Rayshon Williams is on parole in a juvenile possession of a controlled substance case from 2012 when he was arrested, prosecutors said.
And according to a number of e-mails, this is a west side rarity - a legit victim, set to retire and enjoy his golden years with the grandkids, now nothing but a memory.
Preckwinkle claims there are too many black and brown persons behind bars and the democratic pols eat this crap up and waive years of sentences at the drop of a hat. Then tey have the audacity to claim they're "saving money" by emptying prisons. Does anyone really give a shit as long as it's the right black and brown people serving time? You know, the predators killing grandfathers just trying to get to the finish line of life.

Every police officer killed in Chicago in 2010 was killed by a parolee, but our union does shit about it, the department does shit about it and this asshole governor does shit about it. My condolences to the victim’s family. It’s an all too often re-occurring theme. Recidivist criminal does the crime, is found guilty and is sentenced to a lengthy sentence only to be prematurely released. How many crimes including murder have been perpetrated on fellow officers by parolees who should have remained in custody in the first place? The same is true for the general public. Parole is akin to a catch and release policy enforced by a Game Warden. Social justice advances progressive, liberal alternatives to incarceration-on doing less time as the feel good guide to dealing with and “rehabilitating” violent, repeat criminals. Seven years means just that-no less, no more. Words mean things and unfortunately will not bring back this family’s loved one. Loevy & Loevy et al. legal team from the north shore with assistance from the like-minded accomplices in the federal courts will not be filing a federal lawsuit on behalf of the deceased robbery victim’s family against the perpetrators. The fact is it is not profitable for your legal firm and quite frankly, it would not be a “sound and prudent” business decision on your part since it would not contribute to nor enhance your law firm’s bottom line $$$. Sorry legal boys, no public monies granted by a bump of a gavel by a black robe to seize here. The Rev Jesse Jackson will not be leading a carefully choreographed community march for the accommodating local media with a “no justice no peace” theme demanding that the perpetrators of this crime be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Nor will the press seek tough answers from either Gov. Quinn or Commissioner Preckwinkle or the parole board with regards to these early releases. Nor will the press seek neither an explanation nor an apology for the victim’s family. Will mayor rombo be asked if he supports his fellow democratic politician’s decision on early release in relation to the out of control crime in his city? Will mayor rombo be asked if he embraces the established social justice activist’s philosophy on the early release of violent criminals most often released back into underserved, urban communities? The answer is “NO”. This type of violence follows the paradigm of violent criminal is granted parole instead of completing the sentence, parolee is then released into the community, parolee then commits crime against the citizens of the poorest communities in Chicago. The reality is this victim will soon be forgotten in his community, and as long as the check rolls in the 1st of the month, the political leadership will once again seize the vote of those most impacted by these daily occurrences of senseless crimes. Nothing to gain here politically nor financially is the bottom line. It is truly sad when a man works his whole life and contributes to his family and community is broadsided by inept, bungling politicians who are not held accountable for their well established track record of repeated poor decision-making with regards to public safeety. The government which was suppose to protect this average law abiding tax paying citizen made a dollars and cents decision jeopardizing society’s safety, and ultimately setting up tragic circumstances which lead up to this senseless murder.

I work in a very busy district. There are a lot of decent "black and brown folks" in the 10th district. So when they let one of those "innocent black or brown inmates" out, guess who is the victim usually? That is right, the "black or brown legit person who plays by the rules". These politicians are pure assholes. They care about the evil doers but not the people who work their tail off day in and day out.

It is what it is. Preckwinkle you can't change people's behavior. Listen to a police radio. Go on a ride along. When I do a police report I write who the offender was. I've yet to change the race box due to a personal agenda.
Perhaps our prisoners could be farmed out to a prison in Mexico? Our Governor could work this out with Mexico as a business exchange. I'm sure they'll get great treatment in a Mexican jail.

As long as politicians continue to listen to groups like the John Howard Association and other groups that use the "they're just kids" excuse and treat these animals with kid gloves the problem isn't going to get better.
One of the policies John Howard is trying to get changed is the use of confinement. They want the maximum time a youth can be held in confinement to be 1 hour, even if they assault someone.

Maybe a solution to all the violence is to hold those dept. generals with silver stars on their lapels accountable and require them to attend community meetings and have face to face conversations with the community which empowers them and whom the have a partnership with. No dept. representatives below the rank of chief will be allowed to attend. Neither alderman nor any other elected officials allowed. Instead of answering to the whims of aldermen or a manipulative mayor, let the best and brightest be put on show at a community-based comstat meeting or a town hall style meeting. No fancy excel spreadsheets, no stunning graphs, no fabricated gobbledygook just the spontaneous dazzling brilliance of the leadership on display with all their fancy ornamentation on their neatly pressed uniforms. Make the brass earn their pay and more importantly earn the respect of citizens. Remember, police are obligated to protect the citizenry not serve the current political apparatus which appointed them in a position to collect six figure pensions into perpetuity after loyal service to their masters. In addition to their loyal service, they are further rewarded for loyal service by appointment to another high ranking position with another police agency collecting another six figures. Back to these community-based grass roots town hall meetings. Just an ad- lib session where off the cuff questions are directed to the brass. Residents should not accept prepared canned bullshit non-answers to address resident crime concerns. Invite all taxpayers, gainfully employed citizens and crime victims/families and demand that their concerns be heard. The media should report the circus with the clowns on display. I think it would be a sobering experience when Stuper McCarthy is asked about manpower shortages, early release of felons, inadequate funding of penal institution and if needed additional animal cages,the effectiveness of the states attorney’s office, the correlation of Sarah Palin, the N.R.A. and St. Sabina with regards to ongoing gun violence, streetlamp assassinations in N.J., exempt member drunkenness/ improprieties/domestics at he ballpark etc. Allow the community to gauge the effectiveness of gang parolee “call in” sessions with the message to these numerous released convicts and now charged murders : “ We will help you if you let us, but we will stop you if you make us”. How silly have things really gotten? Maybe the brass should get a taste of their own medicine, face the music and be humbled by a comstat dress down by average law-abiding tax-paying Joes. Relocate the elite leadership from their isolated ivory tower cubbyholes. Give them regular business hours in the various district stations allowing access to the fed up residents to voice their concerns.

I don't know if you are aware but the State law is changing Jan 1st. Anyone under the age of 18 is processed as a juvenile except for VERY limited circumstances. Right now a 17 yr old locked up for a felony is treated as an adult. Not true after Jan 1. Get ready for Juv Court to set loose more monsters on society and be immune to the damage.
