Vallas?

Quinn must be more scared than we thought if he's bringing back someone that the Machine banished for actually being successful:
  • Gov. Pat Quinn named former Chicago Public Schools chief Paul Vallas as his running mate Friday in a political stunner that mystified African-American politicians and angered union leaders who derided Vallas as the “wrong” choice for the job.

Vallas, a $1,200-a-day state consultant until last summer who ran the city’s schools from 1995 to 2001 and narrowly lost the 2002 Democratic primary for governor, was a little-known finalist on Quinn’s short list of running-mate possibilities.
Interesting to say the least.

I would definitely vote for Vallas if HE ran for governor.
I will NOT vote for clueless Pat Quinn, however.

And here was his chance to pick scott lee cohen...

hmm, so much for picking simon just to have her oversee the complete undoing of the position of lt. Governor seeing as how everyone agreed there was no need for the useless position.

quinn is the best example among many that proves why democrats run by sheer corruption and deception with a complicit media in tow.

remember his completely ridiculous claim that, though he ran twice with blagojevich, even calling rod a good and decent man, he had no knowledge of any wrongdoing. Then wanted to claim the process of running tied to a ticket with a gubernatorial candidate should be reformed by eliminating the position altogether. This, in spite of the fact that he touted having held the position as the reason he was best qualified to keep the spot at the top of the ticket. Second, he claimed he had no communication with blagojevich virtually the entire second term up to and including the very day rod was finally arrested.

man, illinois, you re-elect another democrat and you might as well relinquish your land of lincoln state nickname... oh, wait, according to northeastern illinois university, abraham lincoln was a democrat (seriously).
Illinois you are not the future of this country, you are every bit its present day reality, absurd, broke, and rendered the laughing stock of the world, caught up in feel good delusion and rhetoric.

Pat Quinn's running mate?

C'mon, already.
Anyone still claiming obamacare is anything but a government power grab, should be forced onto the exchange to find a new plan.
I see democrats on the debate shows referring to the 15 million uninsured Americans who this law was designed to help finally get coverage.

I hear them all speak in their talking points, they keep repeating that number as if to prod you with guilt in that we're all going to sacrifice some minor inconveniences so that these 15 million people will share in equal access to healthcare coverage.

Damn their lies! Ever since 2008 obama went around on the campaign trail talking about the near 20 per cent of our population uninsured.

Someone must have said, hey, bonehead, that would be 60 million people. So they toned it down and it suddenly became 46 million until analysts pointed out that number included the 16 million undocumented illegal aliens residing in the U.S.
Go back and see the speeches from his election victory all through the healthcare bill fiasco and convoluted passage in 2010. The number was revised and all you heard about was this bill should be passed for the 10 percent, or 30 million uninsured americans needing affordable healthcare.
We passed this massive, expansion of government and increase in spending even though their own estimates admittedly revealed that 90 per cent of americans had insurance and 80 percent were satisfied with their insurance.

And now? Democrats go around talking about 15 million americans who will now have healthcare coverage because of obamacare.

5 per cent?
You spent billions for this stupid mess for what could've been covered by an expansion of medicare and medicaid, as even many democrats had wanted?

2012 was a stolen election. I'm certain historians, as in revealing the 1960 election was wrought with 'chicago' irregularities, one day will disclose those deciding counties in a handful of swing states, had more than the occasional anomaly, such as the entire precincts in Ohio and Pennsylvania that counted 100 per cent vote tallies for obama, a statistical impossibility.

Quinn just pissed off the minority vote. Although, I am not a big fan of his, I can only say he lost a good number of votes.

Quinn abviously, with no other democrat in the field, will when the primary, but I suspect now he will lose the general election.

I have met Quinn. Einstein he ain't, dufus he is. Used to be for everyday people, like when he was with CUBS, or whatever it was called, the purpose of which was to lower peoples' utility bills. Now, not so much. The Guv's mansion (paid for at our expense) is pretty nice digs! He's a knucklehead, and knows good livin' when he sees it and can get it for free. I guess he's smarter than me. I ain't got no nice pension like him, and as far as those whom do go, he wants to screw them out of their pensions. Gov. Potato-Head is a turd.

I have to wonder about Vallas? Why would he run as second to numb nuts the governor? The governor is such a stand up guy. He said nothing as Blago's Lt. When Blago raided all the pension funds. Now he is blaming all the people that got robbed of there pension money for his problems! There has to be something more to this. Like a promise of making governor after next term? It's possible because the republicans either can't or won't put up a good campaign. The dems could get a ham sandwich elected to front for the real governor, Mr. Madigan.

No wonder Chicago, Cook, and Illinois are the laughing stocks of the USA.

Gov Potato-head picks a White guy as a Lt Gov running mate and the Black politicians start having hissy fits: 'WHAT?!? Quinn picked Vallas, a White guy? What the fuck! Who the hell does he think he is? It's *OUR TURN*, dammit. He was supposed to pick ________!'(fill in Black name)

Yep, no racism there. Nope, not one bit, it's all 'content of their character' and qualifications for Black pols in IL.

Losers.

Why didn't Vallas run for Mayor? He maintained an address here. What if any unfinished School Supt business did he have elsewhere? Though now, he's under scrutiny in Connecticut, he willing to be on the Gov's ticket or be out of work next year. His power and responsiblty would be limited. why not just run for Governor?
Hmmmmmm.

I would like to think that no matter who this imbecile picked for a running mate it wouldn't matter because there's no way after the four years of high unemployment and record tax increases there's no way people would reelect this dumb fuck. But if there are enough fucking morons to reelect the worst president this country has ever had there are definitely enough fuckheads in this backwards ass state to reelect this stooge. He will be promising the savage element anything and everything to secure their vote.

Not sure Vallas can even run. Have to be a resident of Illinois for the last three years. It is documented that he left Illinois around 12 years ago and since then has held jobs in other states

Qualifications[edit]The Lieutenant Governor of Illinois serves four-year terms. Inauguration takes place on the second Monday in January following a gubernatorial election. A lieutenant governor is

required to be at least twenty-five years old,
required to be a United States citizen,
required to have been a resident of Illinois for the three years previous to election,
barred from other government positions during the term.

Let's see, Vallas was head of CPS from 1995-2001. That is smack in the middle of the time when Daley was passing out 21% raises over three years to the teachers to guarantee labor peace. And we were wondering how come the teachers got 7% yearly raises while we were getting 1% and 2% and similar piddling raises.

Turns out Daley got the teachers union to sign off on a pension holiday in a swap for those huge raises. Brilliant teachers gave themselves raises with their own pension money. The City stopped making contributions to the pension fund for years. And the teachers thought they were sitting pretty with those fat raises.

Their pension fund went from over 100% to under 30%, almost broke. Thanks to Daley.

And I wonder, how can teachers claim their entire pension when some of the pension money was already paid out in the form of raises on salary? How do they ever straighten that mess out?

I would like some reporter to ask Paul Vallas questions about that swap, pension contributions or raises. He was CEO after all.
