Unbelievable Video?
Only if you've been living in a cave that past few years. Very believable to anyone who pays attention:
- Unbelievable surveillance video captured flash mobs dashing into store after store and running out with armloads and sometimes entire racks of sporting goods.
It has happened at three different Sports Authority stores in the Chicago area.
This past Monday in Burbank at just before 1 p.m., five individuals entered a Sports Authority and soon after they were off. Video shows them running out the door with rack after rack of apparel and an employee giving chase.
How far do these jagoffs actually get with a full rack of clothes? Take the wheels off and that part of the crime stops immediately.

Evidently, Channel 2 is a new station here in town and unaware about how things actually run in the big bad city.

They should ask the Michigan Avenue and State Street stores for their videos. Quite a few good ones available.
So if the store refused entry to a pack of yutes, lawsuit. I don't see a way to stop this.
Well now: Brad is a dork and has dorky little cap and sideburns. The Chicago denizens that were interviewed haven't a clue, and are kind of dorky themselves. True facts: These so called mobs are obviously children of color, of former slaves, desperate to obtain warm clothing for themselves, and their families, as the cold season descends on Chicago. They are denied the $$ to purchase need clothing by the oppressive society that keeps them in chains, so they have snatch and grab from the their rich oppressors. It's all very simple.

It is a sporting goods store, right? Time to put some security with Louisville Sluggers right at the front doors. And it's one, two, three strikes you're out at the old flashmob group theft.
Then we will hear from their family from the hospital how it wasn't fair that Cleotus got his ass beat like a drum just for stealing a few thousand dollars worth of sports wear. He is a good man and likely was just stealing that shit to pay for child support on his 9 children 'cuz he don't have no job.
They won't do it , but push button quick lock outer front door would be fun. Then you would see on tape from the store's cameras what happens when you trap the beasts. Even better would be if the foyer was big enough to trap at least some of them in between the doors so they are isolated from the rest of the store & customers and leave them there till the cavalry arrives to lock them up. push the button open up the outer doors and round them.
Another way to stop the grabbing of armloads of stuff on hangers: alternate the direction of the hangers. One regular, rhe next reversed, and so on.

The store security in the Burbank store would follow me around even though I'm older,but didn't pick up on a mob entering the store. LOL.
04:35 AM got to post my thought 1st. Push a door lock button and trap them. I had not yet addressed my concerns about having them trapped in the store but his foyer system takes care of that. Then add the idea of another poster who suggests having bats on hand. They could be used on any of the thugs who missed being caught in the foyer and remained in the store.

SCC, you've got this all wrong. These stores were simply delinquent on their payments to the clothes manufacturer, so they employed "Cocked Hat Recovery Systems" (nasdaq symbol CHRS) as a way to re-coup their losses. Expect more of the same as the economy continues to spiral out of control. Fortunately these "youths" will continue to perfect their craft and remain a viable asset in this particular are of expertise.

I was off duty and was pick pocketed a couple of years ago. I was aware that the savage was up to something and let him make his move. I grabbed him by the arm and threw him to the ground. The yuppies in the area immediately showed disapproval at my tactics. This city is full out of over educated out of state goofs who live in a dreamland.
Flash mobs are goofy people who meet via twitter and spontaneously start dancing or singing. These are criminals committing mass retail theft , battery, and robbery. Calls these bastards what they are.
all these stores should have a security agent/loss prevention or employee checking purchases or at least for presence at all exits. at least they could have grabbed one or two of the offenders as opposed to all shitbirds getting away.
here's an idea require fingerprints and dna sample for all shoppers , provide shopper with a photo ID . Charge $10 fee that can be applied toward your next purchase over $200 .
this will keep the criminal element out .
People of color wonder why other folks always look at them with caution and concern. Until the black community reprimand and disciplines their own community, the rest of the world will paint the black community with the same brush. Is it fair, absolutely. You leave the rest of us no choice.
Dogs are the problem, so dogs should be the answer. Station a vicious dog at all exits with a handler. Watch the decline in these types of "shopping."

_Have the racks stop rolling when the rack gets to the door, like grocery store shopping carts. Or have a small gate like aat Petco, too small to let carts and racks thru.

Is it fair that the black/brown community looks at the whole police force the same as a couple(I'm just being nice saying a "couple ") of bad apples on the force and are hesitant to cooperate, accept, respect us? I guess so, according to your logic.

I have a Help Wanted sign on my front and back door at home and sleep soundly with the doors unlocked.
Why do they do these act of theft, intimidation and violence in their neighborhood? Why, because their stores have bullet proof glass and purchases are done through a window or their stores are closed/boarded up. And why don't you brave police officers try to stop these dangerous acts? Why, because the racist IPRA is chomping at the bit to punish you brave police officers and those ambulance chasing attorneys are calling those young criminal minded lads to later sue those brave police officers for "civil rights" violations. What ever I may say in this passage, be careful guys and girls. Flash mobs have gone from the Mag Mile to our beats and neighborhoods. That means our families are now affected.
