October Numbers Down

  • Eleven people were murdered throughout the city last week, and a 12th person died after being shot last August on the South Side.

Despite the violent end to the month, there were fewer murders this October than in October 2011 and 2012. The month also had an eight-day period with only one killing.

  • Despite the bloody end to October, murders and shootings were down for the month, police said. There were 33 murders in October 2013, compared to 36 last year and 44 in 2011.
We can't wait to see all the headlines that Rahm is going to be basking in come January about murders going from 500+ to just under 400, completely glossing over the fact that his and McJersey's bungling of police manpower and deployment led to the giant spike of 2012. And it only cost how many millions in OT to fix?

Wow, the underclass is finally getting the message and becoming civilized. See what a tough on crime mayor can accomplish. Of course he had a lot of help from his able sidekick, the Bronx Bulldog, aka the police superintendent. Chicago is blessed.

We have deployed all our manpower to the South and West side to keep gang members from killing each other. This at the expense of all the other neighborhoods, you know, the ones that actually pay taxes.

So now we have 100 more parasites on the streets to keep the good people in fear and steal public aid. Tell me how this is a victory?

Maybe the price of ammo went up and they can't afford it? Most likely throw millions at it and watch it go down, could you see if they go rid of vri for even a month? Would be over 600 killed!

Sorry Chicago, but I've been taking it easy in 2013 as even I need a break every now and again.

They will do everything on earth to massage the numbers so that there is a sizeable decline in murder. But it amazes me how the "official" city numbers never jive with HeyJackass.com numbers. Even if you remove the justifiable you can see that the city is some fancy footwork somewhere, somehow. I wouldn't trust Rahm and Garry if they told me the sky was blue and the sun was up.
