397, We Have 397. Do We Hear 398?

As predicted here months ago, but let's be realistic - did anyone really bet against this?

• Last month on the train ride home from prison, Shermain Miles said she was done with booze — done with the old life of petty crime.
  
  Old habits apparently die hard.
  
  The woman who has racked up a near-record 396 arrests picked up one more this week when she was hauled off an Edgewater street for a host of alleged offenses, including misdemeanor battery, theft, reckless conduct and drinking in public.
  
  Miles, 52, was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bail when she appeared at the Belmont and Western courthouse on Friday.
  
  “It’s sad,” remarked Ald. James Cappleman (46th), a Miles victim in August 2012.

Sad? Why? It's expected and not just by us. Anyone with half a brain, even a quarter brain, knew exactly how this was going to go. We'll even predict it's going to end one of two ways:

• dead at Stroger Hospital, ravaged by disease, overdose or liver failure;
• dead on the streets from someone she pisses off.

Either way, she'll be a burden on the taxpaying public until the final curtain falls.

On the bright side, she might get to assault a second aldercreature if she's lucky.
