Abandon Ship!

Anyone know if this is true?
  • Hey SCC,

Word down south here is that almost 60 people from midnights in 007 put in PAR forms to leave. Who is going to man the cars for Ric Flair........I mean Deputy Chief Leo?
There are a few Districts that don't have 60 people on the first watch and 007 is looking at losing a sizable percentage? Who the heck is the Lieutenant there that this kind of mass movement is even attempted?

For years I have been saying why would anyone want to work in 007... Police where it matters, where people actually pay taxes, and where PO's other city workers live.

It happened years ago in 005 when Capt C. W. sauntered thru the door.

I think there was an average of 60 PAR forms a period (back when we had actual transfer lists) to get out of 005 on all watches, not just 1st Watch.

I'll give you a hint: NO ONE gives a fuck about Patrol. NO ONE.

If they gave a fuck about you, you wouldn't be in 007 on midnights.

I can assure you that number is false as someone who actually works in 007 on mids. There are only 70 p.o.'s assigned to 1st watch. We barely have enough to fill the beat cars every night. While there was a nice chunk of par forms submitted it has absolutely nothing to do with the current M/2 LT on mids KB. He is an outstanding boss who is all about the troops. Before the most recent Cpt's class 007 had two if the best bosses in the city on mids with KB and NS ( who just made inspector). Morale was great and tge comrodery rivals that of the old days. Backup is always there. The Sgts for the most part do what they can to make it a decent place to work. At the end of the day though you are still in the hell hole named Englewood. Who wouldn't want to get the hell out if the could. However I can assure it's not because of tge current bosses. They for the most part do what they can to keep the dogs from being dogs and reward the workers best as possible under the new dept.

There is a 2nd Lt .........a f/1 K-S that just arrived on mids. She may be a partial reason, but even her arrival hasn't been that bad. She is someone who belongs inside at 35th and nowhere near a district manned by P.O's . Especially a busy one like 007 with people busting their ass every night. She is a morale killer. The lady never leaves the station . She's at work 12-13hrs plus ragging on the Sgts and P.O's about every little non important/essential item. She's an admin nazi who's never been the police ever. She hasn't had too much effect as of yet because of her short time frame assigned here, but the long haul may prove not be so peachy keen with her unless she realizes how to actually supervise in a crazy world like 007.

chicago's roadmap.

Camden, New Jersey: One Of Hundreds Of U.S. Cities That Are Turning Into Rotting, Decaying Hellholes

[...]...All over America, formerly prosperous communities are being transformed into crime-infested wastelands of poverty and despair. Of course the most famous example of this is Detroit. At one time, Detroit was the greatest manufacturing city that the world had ever seen and it had the highest per capita income in the entire country. But now it has become a rotting, decaying hellhole that the rest of the planet laughs at. And of course Detroit is far from alone....

[...]...there are lots of other "Detroits" and "Camdens" all over the nation. Jobs and businesses are leaving our cities at a staggering rate, and what is being left behind is poverty, crime and extreme desperation.

[ sounds familiar ]

-"In September, its last supermarket closed, and the city has been declared a "food desert" by the USDA. The place is literally dying, its population having plummeted from above 120,000 in the Fifties to less than 80,000 today."

-"Their home is a city with thousands of abandoned houses but no money to demolish them, leaving whole blocks full of Ninth Ward-style wreckage to gather waste and rats."

-"With legal business mostly gone, illegal business took hold. Those hundreds of industries have been replaced by about 175 open-air drug markets, through which some quarter of a billion dollars in dope moves every year."

-"On January 18th, 2011, the city laid off 168 of its 368 police officers, kicking off a dramatic, years-long, cops-versus-locals, house-to-house battle over a few square miles of North American territory that should have been national news, but has not been, likely because it took place in an isolated black and Hispanic ghost town."

-"After the 2011 layoffs, police went into almost total retreat. Drug dealers cheerfully gave interviews to local reporters while slinging in broad daylight."

-"The carnage left Camden's crime rate on par with places like Haiti after its 2010 earthquake, and with other infamous Third World hot spots, as police officials later noticed to their dismay when they studied U.N. statistics."

I was always curious why a Lt. Has to sign the PAR form for a transfer? It's really no ones business and there's nothing a Lt. Can do to prevent you from exercising your contractual right anyway. The whole thing is handled by personnel. Maybe it's so they can fuck with you if you don't make the bid cause now they know your desire and will broadcast it.

There will be quite a few par forms put in from 006. Coppers grew tired of working for a Lt. who does not know what charges are to be applied and orders officers to use other irrelevant charges or worse yet to change their reports because some things got lost in translation from Russian to English. Maybe they don't like working for and answering to a man that has never set his scary ass out on the street. Could be the fact that the district has a hard-on Sgt. that actually said he is "so tired of listening to citizens complaints about officers verbal beefs" that he's "tempted to see if they have video of the officers being verbally abusive" so he can jam up coppers worse than he already has. (This is the same Sgt. that took a CR # from a citizen at the district station against two officers from his sector, then drove the citizen home afterward.) People are just tired of dealing with nonsense on the inside and outside of the station in 006.

I've been in 007 way too long, KB is a great LT on midnights NS was an amazing LT & now Capt. Sgts are good we lose a lot of good ones tho. Midnights in 007 sucks only because we are understaffed while so many people are taken care of by bubble head on 3rd watch midnights some times waits over an hour for a car. One day I'll be lucky enough to get the hell out of Shit hole Englewood......one day (sigh) oh and LT K-S is HORRIBLE!!!

Lets get real! I am sure PAR forms are being put in every south side dist. The officers putting in the par forms all live on the northwest side. I would work for the worst boss in the city if it was in 016. I only live 5 minutes from 016. That is a whole lot better than driving 45 minutes to an hour or more every day to 006, 007, etc , etc.

That's not so bad. There were about the same trying to jump ship in 010 on 3rd watch. The commander decided to flex her muscles last week and show everyone who's balls were the biggest and decided to dump half a tact team along with the entire caps office. Way to boost morale boss by replacing those people with fully competent individuals who know what they're doing (sarcasm was pretty thick that last sentance). Can I get off midnights yet?

Maybe if you took the time to read an order once in awhile you would know the answer. The Lt. is signing the form to esnure that the officer submitted the form within the prescribed time frame. Put a couple of districts back to rotating shifts every 28 days. That seamed to create a certain brotherhood with POs and bosses and a lot of people got a chance to see the district at a new light and also their own lives became more palatable. And therefore more productive.

No Shit squirl dick! I was questioning the order. It's not necessary. Have you ever heard of change? The departmnent does it often. Just get the transfer request in by the required time whether it be by hand or mail. You have 72 hours to do so. If not, well then you don't get to transfer. There is no reason for your unit to know your attempting to leave. Cause we all know some bosses will fuck with the guys. Now go finsh that episode of Maude while you pick your toes.

Twenty people put in par forms in the 019th dist, that says a lot about the poor leadership there. Three tact teams were all dumped comprised of old 19th dist people and a burglary team also dumped. But they saved all the cute girls and put them in the office with a Saturday/Sunday day off group on days with under 15 years on the job. My par form is in that place sucks

Then take a stand and do what is required of you and no more. Let the front office get the arrests. Most likely the dumped guys will be busting their asses making arrests so they can get back on the tact team.
Think of it this way, there cant be much room left in the front office

Same thing is happening in all the districts
One year ago Rahm said he was going to replace inside jobs with civilians and nothing has been done
Not one was replaced and he admitted to that
Some things never change

12/17/2013 02:03:00 AM

Then you guys must be dumb or stupid. A Lt. or a Sgt. trying to jam you up? So the solution is to do more street stops, traffic stops and arrests. Ah, the mind of a genius.

12/17/2013 07:23:00 AM

Signed complaints is all you need for this Lt. to screw things up, (a simple warrant arrest sends him into fits.)

Do the 10 hour day in 007. Nobody would leave and you can eliminate an entire watch. Just sayin!

Can I make days in 007 with 15 years??? Can I get a 7A furlo there too?? Wait a minute. I'll just stay in 020 on 3rd watch and get my 6B furlo and sit at the lake front with no jobs all tour.

KB is a great guy to work for. the reason people want to leave is its "midnights in 007"

Why do commanders and the old captains/lts. get so pissed when guys want to bid somewhere? They shouldn't take it personal.I remember captains throwing hissy fits when sos/tru would take all the workers from the watch. Some workers stayed out of loyalty and the other guys went to units in the end they both got fucked for not bidding up north. The commanders should've been demanding recruits be assigned to fast districts then they wouldn't need to hold these poor coppers hostage.

9 par forms out 49 P.O.'s on midnights in 017. One was actually heard crying he couldn't get a decent furlough so he was going elsewhere. Good riddance dead beats, hello Real Police. Welcome to 017. Where nothing is expected of you except to show up.

Wow! Spoken like the true stroke you are. I'd rather work with the guy you are hammering as a dead beat, Mr. Real Police. At least he pays attention to what is happening on the job. He's not busy looking at his cell phone or worrying about his shopping.

34 people put in par forms from 012 just on third watch, and it looks like another 10 from midnights, and 10 from days. in my twenty years on, all in 012 i never thought i see that. what the hell is going on?

Must be the midnight watch, 017 has a lot of problems with the midnight LT. also.

Every time I made a move with a PAR form I just signed the LTs or Captains name...

If anyone would question the signature I would just say I left the form for him to sign when he was busy and SOMEONE signed it... no harm no foul.

12/17/2013 02:18:00 PM

You sound like a sneaky little bastard that can't be trusted. I am sure the WC would have been happy to sign your par form to go somewhere else. How many Districts did you have to leave?

12/18/2013 08:47:00 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah...

Back in the day your PAR form would "get lost" or arrive late.

You learn to hand deliver your PAR form when you work in districts run by wretched/evil people.

Some bosses took it PERSONALLY that people would want to leave.

Sometimes you could sweet-talk a Lt. on another watch to sign it for you.

Sometimes the Lt. would back stab you to your W/C.

Sometimes your W/C would sic the Sgts on you for wanting to leave.

Most Sgts went along with it.
Some were decent enough not to.

Sometimes you got lucky and got a heads up from one of the dispatchers about supervisors constantly bothering the zone do status checks/keeping you stacked with as many shit jobs as possible.

Or the W/C would phone in a request for you to have your own personal Inspector for days at a time.

All because you dared to want to leave...

Now THAT is what you can call being fucked with for no good reason.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Yes so "Come to 017" to watch a sgt sleep in his squad car like real police in the parking lot nightly and run around shooting his gun at ghosts he sees in his dreams so Area North can clean his shit up again and watch the real police work for the real Lt that only knows how to tell ya to put on a yellow vest during traffic accidents while he cant even wear his star or nametag at roll calls hell he cant even wear a uniform half the time during the inspections and that would embarrass any REAL POLICE or instructor from the academy. But he is trained just ask him...true leader. The only thing he knows how to lead is the desk crew to the dinner menu! Im outta there already that watch sucked!!!

Add 003 to the mix the DC takes everything personal he was pissed when ppl asked him to sign PAR forms.... please nobody wants to do the pilot program and nobody wants to deal with most of the upper management. Ppl/tact/mission team see had to sneek to other districts to get there PAR forms signed so the DC won't take it personal. Its business not personal get over it!!!

Get your lies straight the DC personally signed a bunch of par forms, then gave out a shitload of awards afterwards.
Don't think he cared about tact mission guys going because a lot of dumps were coming and more then enough officers bid in to back fill the teams.
He has been decent to workers. I personally got like 10 awards from him.003 tact is a joke for the most part . Big shakeup in 003 tact and mission teams coming and long overdue. Bad bosses and lazy officers for the most part.

019 the district has horrible leadership and it's starts at the very top!!!! As far as them dumping the tact team and burglary team, you mean to tell me that out of all the original 19 district teams NOT ONE officer was qualified to stay? The Burglary team actually reduced the stats significantly for the so called leadership ! What a slap in their faces as well !!!! Although one of the members was always late ,slept half of the tour and ate the rest, maybe he had the right idea the whole time! Congratulations,Way to go fierce leader, you single handedly created more disgruntled police officers
