New Cut Off Score

Word in the comment sections is a few mid-to-high 40's are passing, so we've gone from an initial estimate of 51 all the way down to 46 or 45 as a "passing" grade.

That's just embarrassing.

I think the comments you're reading are some P.O.'s pulling your leg. From the most reputable comments I saw a Score of 58 = Failed & 62 = Pass. My guess would be the true cutoff was 60.

Yes it is SCC. But we all know why it has to be that low. We need a diverse pool to pick from. I mean anywhere else 50% is below failing and grounds for dismissal from an educational institute. Only here on the CPD is the status quo. It's appalling and shameful that there is no minimum standard even close to something respectable. The city doesn't give a shit about the best and the brightest leading the way. It's evident from the time you start the initial process. We are the it department in tge entire Nation that does not rank its entry applicants on score. It's just a lottery system in which a random number is generated. So someone with a 50% on the entrance exam will be hired before that person who excels as works hard and scores a perfect 100. WELCOME TO THE CHICAGO WAY.

I remember years back I had applied to the LVMPD and got accepted. Well, I wound up staying here nonetheless (we all make mistakes) but the point is I remember my initial interview with my recruiter. Her question was "Why do you want to leave Chicago?" I mentioned my reasons and her exact words were, "CPD is literally the laughing stock of the police world. How you guys handle promotions is a complete fraud and you should be embarrassed to be from there." Her words, not mine. This of course still echoes every time I hear a high ranking boss leave here for another department as police chief. I just wonder how or why he/she got that spot. Like my buddy Billy S. says, "I guess no one else was qualified."

I used to brag about being CPD and now I won't even say I'm a cop. A long line of corruption and the whole promotion thing? What a fucking joke. I still think the whole "merit" thing is an embarrassment to the city and department. If I was black and had to be promoted of such a list of "merit" what does that say about me or the system itself? Talk about corporate welfare. This job is a complete embarrassment to law enforcement community. So glad I have two years to go and have plan B in the works. Plan B? Hey Snoopy, cue the Charlie Brown trumpet again....

I own a biz and get leads because I do a good job and have a good referral base. Not because my dad is this, or that or I know so and so. I can stand proud on what I have built and accomplished. How many with a white shirt can say the earned it? I am sure several can and kudos to them.

P.S. RE you can go fuck yourself on the 5% raise. Oh and it's 85 degrees here in Costa Rica today! Woo Hoo!

When the goal is to achieve a "balanced" list of candidates the passing score goes down like the titanic.

Now many "poor" test takers, that other wise would be the best of the best as a supervisor, are eligible for merit selection.

I'm glad I'm near the end.

A phone call was made by a PO to Human Resources yesterday. The PO asked what the passing score was and was told 45. I have also heard from people of different races that passing scores were very different depending on which race box you check.

Not sure how you guys will spin that, no race norming on those scores and looks like two bonafide cases of cutoff scores at 59 or 60.

It's crazy that anything under a 60 (a D- at any school) is passing. I think the state exam to be a police officer is a 67 at minimum. In reality, anything under a 70 should not be allowed to go on further.

I was going over the study material provided by IOS solution for the second part of the test. In the scenario with the ANOV, Mr. Jones was cited for talking on a cell phone. It states that you as the sergeant went to 12640 S. Holiday Court in order to log bt. 2653. From this statement I assume that a traffic stop was conducted by bt. 2653 at 12640 S. Holiday Court of Mr. Jones. Why is Mr. Jones address listed on the anov as respondents address of 12460 S. Holiday Court and the address of violation 3640 E. 79th? Shouldn't the address of violation be 12460 S. Holiday Court as the scenario reads and should not be listed as the respondents address?

Hey dipshit, if you read previous threads you would see that there were rumors that the 'curve' was 'race biased (normed)' therefore, telling your race, like the m/4 did is relevant. Go back to sleep.
