So another week goes by and no promotions. It's been a year and almost 2 months now without any promotions at all. Welcome to CPD where your chances of getting out of a beat car are almost nil.
Never forget that the Bears are a speeding NFL steam locomotive rolling down the track. Once they get moving nothing can stop them. Put your money, put your kid's collage fund on the Bears.

IIRC, history says Da Bears *should* win (I really can't recall the last time the iggles beat Da Bears). But it'll be a nail-biter -- last minute FG by Gould or another 'Miracle Catch' by Jeffery for a TD. Even then Da Bears will need some help to stay on top and win the Division, which isn't an impossibility (Next week's Packer game scares the bejesus outta me).
The Noo Yuk giANTS can win in Dee-troit, plus the Loins(sic) are in self-destruct mode now, looking over their shoulder / waiting for the next big screw-up at the absolute worst moment. And Matthew Stafford's peaked anyway, the *kid* is way over-rated as a QB, always was IMHO (he wins in a Dome with perfect conditions...whoop-dee-doo)
And there's still 'good news' for Bear fans from up in The Frozen Tundra. Aaron Rogers won't be playing today and the Steelers are 6-8. So they 'can' win if they get their act together on defense.

If the Department promotes sergeants from the old list, Shields might have some credibility to his accusations. It's way too ironic how Jim McCarty turned on Mike right before being promoted? Mike put Jim in the field rep spot, making ton of our money, after Jim lost the election, then Jim pays Mike back by turning on him and walking off the stage. Why? Because Jim is worried that he might work in a district where he hasn't worked in a over decade. Jim could have simply loyal to Mike, been promoted. See with McCarty ends up. Shields was right.

U trippin right? The Bears defense is laughable. They probably have the worst linebacker tandem in the NFL. When they are not being easily blocked, they usually run themselves out of the play. Briggs will not help much if he even plays.
The Bears remind me of the Wizard of Oz.... if only they had a defense. Wouldn't even have to be a stellar defense just an average defense would do.

Admin Message #211235-Uniform and Property Order 04-01 "Personal Appearance Uniform etc…among other things affecting the new hires, they are eliminating the spring/summer exemption from wearing a cap as I understand for all of us. And no I'm not a new hire. Is this what's really important?? Are they going to write us up for not wearing the stupid cap that limits your vision?? If you like wearing it fine, but I don't for daily field work as I feel it limits my vision and is one more piece of equipment to keep track of. Merry Christmas and stay safe brothers.

To the uniform guy: If you're not a new hire, you should know through the history of this Department, wearing a hat was mandatory. If you got out of the car you put your hat on. Foot pursuits were about the only forgivable offense. Make a traffic stop-hat, go into a call--hat, go into the station, fix your tie and put your hat on. If your hat limits you field of vision buy one that fits; that's one of the lamest excuses I've ever heard, and trust me, I'm no new hire either. Wear you hat, wear your star, wear you nametag and at least look professional; it's about all we have left.

McCarthy is on the record telling bosses and exempts that he was going to promote 97 sgts by year's end. I don't see that happening. Sucks for those that are close. They've been strung along for the past year. The b.s. class of 40-45 that may or may not be going in within the next week or so is ridiculous. A whole year went by and you only promote 45 sgts. What a joke. It would be nice to see McCarthy promote the 97 sgts that he promised. Considering that by the end of January, sgts will be down about 150 or more.

Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged as their way of life. We are talking the horrible Oakland RAIDERS, the Minnesota VIKINGS, the Tampa Bay BUCCANEERS and the Pittsburgh PIRATES!
Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children---and it is all about the children.

You have posted the same information at least 20 times. Give it a rest. We know, it is a waste of money, we know Lewin and Ryczek are useless and a waste of space, and we know they do not belong at OEMC, but until a Superintendent with balls takes them out of there, they will continue to do nothing for their bloated paychecks, benefits, company cars and future, bloated retirement checks.

They have to do something to stop guys wearing the stupid looking hats they wear now….red hats, green hats, wool hats, brand names non brand names etc etc. It's supposed to be a uniform and they have to do something about it……as always…we brought it on ourselves by going too far!!!

Give the kid credit. At least he is creative with that limits your field of vision BS. Thought he might add the weight of the hat and the resistance to the air slows him down during his many foot chases

As a sergeant, first in patrol, then in a handful of units, I learned it sure IS about getting the kid in a unit, getting them into the right district, calling your buddy and asking if he'll take your kid (or 'niece', wink, wink) in their unit.
Most times when I requested someone I trusted, whose work I knew, I'd get some lieutenant's kid sent, instead. Along with their attitude, their conviction that they were exempt from all the rules, the dress code and the WORK.
