Attacks Begin on RINO Rauner

  • In one of the most comprehensive campaign criticisms leveled in the early Republican primary season for governor, the running mate of state Sen. Kirk Dillard assailed rival Bruce Rauner's wealth and connections and questioned whether he was a "true Republican."

The criticisms leveled by the Hinsdale lawmaker's candidate for lieutenant governor, state Rep. Jil Tracy of Quincy, came as Rauner embarked on a weather-delayed bus tour of the state, starting in southern Illinois. Tracy labeled the tour a "stunt."

"I think we have to face the fact that someone that does have quite a number of homes and is a billionaire might be out of touch somewhat with the average Illinoisan that's facing losing his home," Tracy said, playing the traditional attack role of a running mate.

"I don't think Bruce is a true Republican candidate," she said in a conference call with reporters. "I think that his close associations with Democrats and (Chicago) Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Democratic candidates nationally and statewide prove otherwise."

Rauner, an equity investor, has a close relationship with Emanuel and helped the mayor get into the financial equity business prior to Emanuel's election to public office. Rauner's name also has been linked to donations to several Democrats in the past, though Rauner has said many actually came from his wife, Diana. He also voted in the 2006 Democratic primary, backing Forrest Claypool's failed bid for Cook County Board president.
Seeing as how Madigan runs a pretend republican against himself every four years, it's more than possible, even probable, that Rauner is a plant by the Machine/Combine to give Quinn another term in the big seat. And if by some miracle, Rauner actually won, well, he's beholden to Rahm and Madigan as it is, so what's the loss to them?

You have to love how he got Rahm into the financial equity business (where Rahm "acquired" upwards of $12 million) and then he blames his wife for checks written to democratic candidates in previous elections.

Is it any coincidence that Rahm's best buddy (Rauner) suddenly shows up in a year when Quinn and the Dems. are at their most vulnerable?

Nah. Couldn't be.

The billionaire Rauner wants to cut hard earned middle class modest pensions even further.

No way I'm voting for him.

SCC, give it a break. Rauner is beholden to Rahm and Madigan????? Rauner is a Billionare and doesn't answer to anyone. Rauner made Rahm rich not vice versa. Dillard is a joke and RINO. He is a DuPage Cty machine guy. I grew up in DuPage. Dupage is just as corrupt as Cook Cty. Dillard is identical to Quinn except on 2nd amendment issues. Dillard voted for every bill that has ruined Illinois over the last 40 years. Dillard has been in officer forever and a day.

SCC, I know you didn't say your backing Dillard. He is a joke who would change NOTHING!! That being said Rauner is the only guy who can win. Brady lost once and he will lose again. I like him but we have to win. A vote for anyone other than Rauner is a vote for Quinn. You can take that to the bank.

All part of the master plan:
1.Tremendous primary crossover vote of Cook County Democrats for Rauner overtakes downstate Republican split vote.
2. No foot soldiers suppplied by unions for Quinn in general election (record low turnout)leads to Rauner victory. Madigan retains power and Lisa stays viable. Rahm commands tremendous power to bust unions in Chicago.
3. Rauner and RAhm and Madigan support Hillary.
4. Quinn takes his millions in campaign funds and retires happily ever after, out of jail.
5. Hillary wins 2016,
6. the Beat goes on....

Bruce is rahms guy, he does whatever rahm tells him to do simple as that! Rahm does not like it that he wanted pensions taken away and madigan went the reform route, requiring rahm to contribute the 600 million the city did not pay over many years!

The Republican Party has been moving left for a long time. Ronald Reagan temporarily halted the move by beating the G.O.P's globalist candidate Bush in the primaries, then Carter in the general election. The Republican Party hated Reagan. After Reagan's eight years, Bush bamboozled conservative voters and began to undo Ronald's gains.
Candidates now campaign as conservative, but once elected, they move towards the left, thwarting the will of the people.
The people haven't changed, the party has. It is time for a new Conservative party. Never mind trying to take back the Republican Party, too many R.I.N.O.s in it.

we have already seen evidence that all Illinois Republicans are Madigan "plants" or week followers like Kirk. We need someone with "intestinal fortitude" and is ethical, has a conscience and is not a closet communist. There is none in the Democratic Party.

For sake of Chicago and it's civic health, Rahm must be re elected. He is the only one that can save Chicago from the fate of Detroit.

This is why John Kass calls it "The Combine." The Democrats have "plants" inside the Republican Party. Jim Thompson and George Ryan were two of the worst offenders, who routinely sabotaged Republicans to advance "bipartisan" deals made with the Democrats. "The Combine" stabbed Glenn Poshard in the back because Ryan was deemed to be more of a player. Even the gays were against Poshard.

Rauner is nothing more than a Stalking Horse. Yesterday he went down state and said the State Minimum wage should be lowered to create new jobs! So what kind of jobs do you create when you knock the minimum wage to $7 and some change? Rauner does not have a chance, so the question is: Can a credible Republican candidate be produced? If Quinn gets a second term, we are all in trouble. I can see the taxing of pensions.

Funny how the dems also criticize the republicans for having money even tho the dems usually have more. Pelosi, Kerry all rich way beyond this guy, but they turn the tables. Their hero, John F. Kennedy wasnt poor.
In the senate and house the dems are richer than the republicans

There are NO Republican Politicians in Office in Illinois to place blame for their failure on, so they want Rahm-Puppet Rauner to get in, to continue their Shell-Game. Rauner will be the Whipping Boy in return for big $$$$ from Madiganistan Democrats, for taking the Heat and blame for everything, when he gets in, while the corruption continues on in Illinois, and the Dumbed-Down Illinois Sheeple Taxpayers remain clueless as usual.

Have to disagree SCC.....

Rauner and Rahm are here for the kill shot, period

They figure they can skillfully manipulate republican primary voters who have been driven mad with pension envy for the last few years by big media.

The only thing left to plunder is public pensions.

They feel empowered and ballsy enough to grab them. The big money people in this state want it all.

Rauner/Emanuel Inc. want to bust those pensions out through bankruptcy, and force you into high fee managed 401(k)s run by fellow north shore ghouls.

They used Bill Daley to take out Madigan's daughter, who was perceived to be a tougher opponent then Quinn.

We are now in Phase #2: All the talking heads are talking about Madigan's empire and how term limits are the only answer. It's Rauner's issue.

Don't you find it odd, that these media puds just figured out what Madigan is all about? Why is all of this news in early 2014?

An Illinois ruled by Madigan/Quinn isn't good.

An Illinois ruled by Rahm/Rauner will be the biggest disaster you've ever seen for working people.

And btw, where's Axelrod?

Rahm's wealth with the help from Rauner?

WASHINGTON — Federal officials swooped in to rescue mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2008 with the largest of all the financial crisis bailouts — a combined $187.5 billion — because they were considered too big to fail.

Oh-oh-oh...THAT investment. The insider tip to sell off soon to be worthless Freddie Mac stock
For a guy who didn't have an MBA or even a bank teller background, he made $16 mil with that info.
mmm-mm-mmm!

I second that. He was a union member at one time who worked his way up. He is the only Republican on the ticket who has won a statewide race. He came to Chicago to support Garrido when he ran for Alderman. Give this man a second look, he seems like a credible candidate and a pretty good man. He's the only Republican that could beat Quinn in the general election. Dillard is part of the combine. Brady and his praying wife are too socially conservative. Rauner is a Rahm plant.
