a camera is not much of a deterrent to these reckless and negligent drivers since the bill is just passed onto the taxpayers and bus riders -- after being laundered and obfuscated as some sort of operational expenses.
btw, where do you think the city workers will place on the school zone speed trap cameras. i've seen tow trucks for the pound flying down the road to cash-in on the snow zone bounty.
they don't give a rats ass about 'the children'....ya know....like rahm does. all they care about is the money / number of tows. tow-stats
Speedy recovery Officer, see you in the spring...and
...always, always always wear your seatbelt.
(No comment on how street conditions played a part in this.)
Get well officer. Was the burglary bona fide , I live right there.
GODSPEED on your recovery hope you enjoy the time off, was vehicle defective?
If you catch a two truck driver speeding stop and ticket the Snow Pirate. If there on a ticket then cash bond baby at the station. That will really make their day.
Speedy recovery officer. Thank you for watching over our neighborhoods on the NW side. Many thanks for all that you do.
Racing to a burglary in progress? Yeah, tell that to my neighbor. Had a guy break into his home, while he was home and the cops showed up an hour later.
not to mention 2-11's breaking out more and more it seems.
I wonder where the fireman's contract is because there seems to be an unusual number of multi alarm fires in the past couple of months. Do they have manpower issues too?
I am glad he got out if that car safely.
glad to hear officer is ok and how others responded to assist. always a good feeling.
glad you are ok n stay safe,
First and probably last time we ever see a marked car up here! At least one actually from 016.
Glad you're going to be OK!
Guys, carry a knife with you at all times. Keep it in one of your top vest pockets. Buy one of those sharp military tactical knife. If you get into an accident and your seat belt is disabled then you are toast! With a tactical military knife you can cut the seat belt.
I am so glad you are ok officer. Get well soon brother.
A complete and effective recovery to the injured member.
Glad to hear it was not more serious.
Thanks to all who responded to assist a brother officer that, "Thin Blue Line" of help and support.
Hopefully a product liability lawsuit will eradicate the design flaw

Woman charged in shooting of brother during dispute over gun
"Joeann Smith told officers at the scene that she and her brother had been drinking Seagrams Gin and King Cobra beer, and while they were drinking, they began playing with her Rosco .22-caliber revolver, according to a police report. The gun was loaded, and they at first were going to fire the gun into the air from the back porch, but Willie Smith told her that it would not fire because the bullets were old.
"In the living room, Joeann Smith gave the gun to her brother, and he gave it back to her. She then pulled the trigger, hitting her brother in the right eye, according to the police report. Willie Smith then fell to the floor..."

Gotta love it. Nature takes its course.
That's a great idea. What are the chances of more stops on friggin bus drivers and city tow drivers? These guys are worse than cabbies.

Yes. it has an unusual magnetic attraction and causes other vehicles to inexplicably crash into it.
KK super guy. He is also running for Financial Secretary in the upcoming FOP election. Vote for a guy who cares.

Off duty personnel responding.... That's the issue of working or living in 016. No Man Power to respond and beats as large as some Districts. Help is a long ways off. A number of years ago, my old partner was having problems with his next door neighbor threatening to burn his building down and the Superintendent's response to him was "You're the Police. Protect yourself." I go weeks without seeing a 16th District car come down my block. It's not their fault. They are just spread too thin and the city's attitude is that we are to police our own neighborhoods while off duty. Thank God for Off Duty Cops and retirees because we would be consumed by the animal...
Thanks for kind words. I'm back to work and just a little sore. Does that make me dedicated or dumb? Dont answer. Me and my family really appreciate the support. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing all of you guys in 016, off duty and on, from my squad car...didn't think I would be able to say that a few days ago. Stay Safe,
Kevin Kilmer
Thank you to all the POs in 016, both on and off duty. I was lucky to walk away with minor bumps and bruises but even luckier to be part of a fellowship where we always have each other's back. Me and my family are very appreciative and I'm happy to say I am back at work.
