60 Days

  • Nine years, nine months and five days after he punched David Koschman in the face and ran away, Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko — a nephew of former Mayor Richard M. Daley — stood before a judge and admitted he was guilty of causing Koschman’s death.

Judge Maureen P. McIntye accepted Vanecko’s guilty plea and ordered him to spend 60 days in jail, followed by 60 days of home confinement with electronic monitoring.

The judge also gave Vanecko the maximum 30 months of probation and ordered him to apologize to Koschman’s mother Nanci Koschman and pay her restitution of $20,000.
Just for comparison purposes, Cozzi did four years for slapping a drunk who was spitting on him and hospital personnel, and that was after he had already served a lengthy suspension, two years of court ordered probation and apologized in open court for his misbehavior.

Webb is pushing to make his entire investigation public while repeatedly stating he will not be pursuing any additional charges against anyone involved. That would include everyone from the States Attorney and Superintendent on down who claimed for years that there was no basis for charges - charges which Vanecko has just cut a deal for. Also, no charges for the witnesses who lied and obfuscated for years to protect their political family.

So this will fade into the background, forgotten by all involved aside from Koschman's mother. The missing file, the failure of the system, the desperation to conceal who else might have been present at the time who has a history of getting drunk, beating people and being covered for time and time again, and whose name isn't "Vanecko.

Sad.

SCC, well said. Especially the comparison to Cozzi. the only difference for Cozzi was that after he paid his dues to the State and the police department, the feds went after him.

Can we hope for the same treatment for a Daley? That this will be followed up with some federal charges?

There was NO WAY a Daley relative was going to face the full weight of criminal justice system in Chicago, Cook County. Everyone knows that. The police detectives that got were assigned to that case probably wish they had taken the night off when they found out who was involved. Their supervisors were like pirates' parrots while the detectives did their work. Talking in the detective's ears when they weren't on the their cell phones talking to higher ups. The detectives probably wanted to do it right and charge him, but they knew that there was no way that would ever happen. The Cook County States Attorneys Office would put up obstacles like nothing.

So keep the whole sordid mess from coming out and embarassing everyone, Vaneko "takes one for the team." 60 days, probably do about 20-25 and that's it.

So the case is plead out on a slow news Friday. Dan Webb said no police or states attorney prosecutions. Since there's no trial, there's no fuel to feed the police and states attorney misconduct investigation. A BRILLIANT STRATEGY. By Monday they'll be something else in the news to distract the citizens. Afterall, its SUPER BOWL WEEKEND. This is disgusting.

As for Webb nor prosecuting police or states attorney misconduct, it appears somebody told him to cool it. When I was a young copper in the 5th district, there was a rumor about a Dan Webb incident occurring at the desk in 22. It was pretty sick.

The reporters did a fine job on this case. There aren't good investigative reporters coming through the ranks of the media. From what I see, we're getting nothing but talking heads on the tube. Eventually good INVESTIGATIVE reporters will retire. Who the heck is supposed to replace you, the bullshit fed through the Internet?

Honestly as much as Daley and his family are the biggest criminal enterprise in the city, this whole case is bullshit. Sure he is probably an asshole just like most of that family, but what did he really do?

Sorry but fights happen all the time, hell a fist fight should be welcomed compared to grabbing guns and shooting people. So this 21 year old guy goes and gets beer muscles and picks a fight with a bigger guy, not unheard of and not without consequences. He is punched 1 time by all accounts and falls and hits his head, freak incident it proves fatal. Where is the malicious intent to actually kill the kid? When is someone allowed to defend themselves from an assault?? Is is because of the size difference? Or is this witch hunt just because the big soft ball is a Daley relative? Is it really hard to believe some punk 21 year old kid new to the bar scene and out for his birthday would be an asshole??? Everyone has consequences to their actions.

Too late for that now. Or is it? If you can prove a coverup it might extend the statue of limitations. It will be interesting to read the report on how the investigation was handled by the department and by the prosecutor's office. “I am sorry,” Vanecko declared. “If I could undo what was done, I would, but I can’t. I just want to extend my sincerest apology.”

What a f ing joke.
Even tho the court ordered a 20k restitution, I hope that Mrs. Koschman sues him civilly for everthing he's got.

The pension money thing was his brother, Robert G. Vanecko. Koschman was killed by Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko.

Supposedly, Robert Vanecko grew up with and went to school with, ready now, Mike Shields, former FOP President. Both from the same neighborhood and knew each other, don't know how well.

The Daley's are hiding all over with different names.

A Richard J Daley grandson, last name of Thompson, is now elected to the Water Reclamation District to get a steady paycheck and mainly to begin accumulating pension credits.

Also, in case there is an opening somewhere they have a Daley family member they can trust to slide right on in.

Mumbles daughter Nora stopped using her married last name of Conroy and went back to Nora Daley, guess why? Political aspirations perhaps? You don't have a golden political name like Daley to be a housewife. Conroy? Who the fuck is that? But Daley! Now that one opens doors.

May every member of the Daley Crime Family rot in hell!

I recall the movie Unforgiven. Cowboy cut up the whore pretty bad. He had to pay a fine of one pony. A nice pony though, but just a pony.

Vanecko spent more than $20,000.00 on lawyers. County spent over a million on the special grand jury etc.

And Mrs. Vanecko gets $20,000.00 restitution.

I would offer that money as a reward for information on who stalled the original case, who covered it up over there at A3. And who at City Hall pulled the strings on that one. Which Daley minion was directing the thing.

Gee, I'm just a stupid blue shirt, but these all look like jobs where he worked for management. He must have studied really hard for all of the tests he took to get into these units.

Can you say connected? He's got my vote, NOT!

Uhhhh there are no tests to get in those units. The only units that require a test are the ones that get get D2 or D2A pay such as K9, marine, mounted, etc.

(OT) after reading about some coppers calling for a debate, thinking its a great idea, went and talked to top guy on clean slate and citywide team both thought it was a good idea, how about it billy call it out set it up, we could even do it as a fundraiser maybe for the police chaplains association, maybe even ask father brandt to be moderator to keep things in check, tickets could be $10.00 each, it would be SRO, could be from 1830-2200, first half hour meet and greet, first hour presidents panel,2nd could be VP, then 3rd hour could be 2nd vp, we could ask the questions and with them all together deception would be able to be called out.

Just think the salary is president $210.000 and the others $160,000 which the fop let the city off the hook for and we pay that salary out of our dues, and this wage is pensionable (don't be envious), but simple math 75% of that would be retirement pension, the golden parachute, raiding our pension fund.

Why not make the pensionable portion your civil service rank,as they are always saying we have to protect the pension, and complaining about gold braid pensions why not lead by example,Dean,Bill,Tom? Hoe About everyone on that ticket? Its about time FOP answers to the membership, looked over the 990 forms wow you guys are like drunken sailors spending our money!!

2/01/2014 12:28:00 AM
It would be nice, but no federal charges apply here, no civil rights violation under cover of law which applied to Cozzi. I think the special prosecutor got the best deal that he could. Now the report on what the prosecutor and detectives did will be unsealed and the grand jury testimony will become a public record for all to see. This case should have been prosecuted long ago and the lying witnesses on Venecko's behalf arrested for obstruction. Just too late now, but not too late for a civil suit.

The above comments show the ignorance of the poster. This is a comment by a tool of the democrats. What did he really do? He caused someone's death and, no evidence that the deceased was the aggressor . Read the grand jury transcripts when they are made public.

You've struck a nerve w/me. I've worked "special" & VRI for a while now. Used to work PHS on my RDO's back in the early 1990's. I'm +20 years of service currently. I've got great, beautiful kids, but they are very expensive, more so as they grow older. My wife recently lost her job. Ah, ah, ah, don't go there...we vote Republican. I have college funds and my 457b to fund. I have groceries to buy. I have a mortgage, kid's clothes (don't get me started on shoes) tuition, and yes, even tee-pee to buy. Lots of folks are in my situation, and no, I'm not complaining. That's why I work Special/VRI. Our family plays hard and that costs $$, too. So, when you finally get laid, maybe even married w/kids, you too will find yourself in my situation. And when that day happens Jerky, I'll see your lazy ass at roll call on our RDO.

From SCC on December 27, 2013 --

"As an unconscious David Koschman was being rushed to a hospital, a nephew of Mayor Richard M. Daley was rushing with friends to a closed River North bar where prosecutors believe his friends “concocted their stories” about the violent confrontation that would cost Koschman his life.

"Daley nephew Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko, Bridget Higgins McCarthy, her husband Kevin McCarthy and Craig Denham took cabs to the Pepper Canister, an Irish pub at 509 N. Wells St. where they’d been drinking earlier that night in April 2004.

"The bar — owned at the time by a politically connected couple — was already closed for the night. But somebody let in Vanecko and his friends after hours on April 25, 2004. How long they stayed there hasn’t been disclosed.

"Vanecko’s friends told a grand jury they didn’t recall any discussion at the Pepper Canister about the confrontation that had just occurred outside the late-night bars along Division Street where Vanecko allegedly punched Koschman in the head..."

"Clout contractor drops out of deal over IRS troubles

By TIM NOVAK Staff Reporter Updated: December 26, 2013 6:18AM

"Two months ago, the Illinois Medical District Commission picked Jack Higgins, a politically connected developer with close ties to former Mayor Richard M. Daley, to develop a $175 million project on the West Side.

"On Friday, Higgins abruptly walked away from the deal over questions about his personal finances — including $2.5 million he and his wife owe the Internal Revenue Service.

"Higgins and his wife, Martha Higgins, owe the IRS more than $2.5 million in income taxes for 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010, according to three liens the federal government has filed with the Cook County recorder of deeds office.

"Also, Chase Bank filed a foreclosure suit last spring against Higgins, his daughter Bridget Higgins McCarthy and her husband Kevin McCarthy after they defaulted on a $1 million mortgage on the couple’s North Side home. Chase dropped the suit in August.

"Bridget and Kevin McCarthy were with Daley nephew Richard J. “R.J.” Vanecko when authorities say he fatally injured David Koschman during a drunken confrontation on April 25, 2004. Vanecko and another friend, Craig Denham, took off in a cab, and the police stopped Bridget and Kevin McCarthy, who at first denied knowing Vanecko and Denham. Bridget McCarthy identified Vanecko during an interview with detectives on May 13, 2004, a week after Koschman died of brain injuries..."

The suburbs do the same thing to screw their union cops. They hire part time cops. You guys go a step beyond that and fuck yourselves. They don't need to hire outside scabs, you scab yourselves out for a little extra money.

It's not really your fault. It's the lack of leadership at FOP that is to blame. Your union should be taking a lead on this and organizing the membership to stand together for better benefits. Instead, they fuck each other and let the city scab you out to your own organization.

...and this "Craig Denham..."

Another key figure in Koschman case also a relative of Daley family

BY CHRIS FUSCO AND TIM NOVAK Staff Reporters

Updated: August 1, 2013 5:11PM

"

"The other key figure in the deadly 2004 confrontation involving a nephew of then-Mayor Richard M. Daley is a British-born businessman who’s also related to the Daley family.

"Craig Denham, 36, is now a brother-in-law of Nora Daley Conroy, the former mayor’s oldest daughter who recently was appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to chair the city’s Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee.

"Denham has declined interview requests about the seven-year-old homicide case..."

"Denham — the son of Nigel Denham, a wealthy British businessman with interests in a wine distributorship, a catering company and a golf course — grew up in West Yorkshire County, England, about 200 miles north of London. He moved to Alabama to attend the University of Mobile, where he was on the golf team from 1995 to 1998.

In April 1999, he started working for LaSalle Bank in Chicago, eventually becoming a vice president.

"Soon after moving to Chicago, Denham met Joseph Carroll, another British native, and they made plans to set up a wine-distribution company, according to Carroll.

"Shortly before the confrontation with Koschman, Denham had met Vanecko and the McCarthys at an engagement party for a couple from England, according to the police. The Sun-Times couldn’t confirm who the party was for, though, five months later, in September 2004, Nicholas J. Davies, a boyhood friend of Denham, married Katherine Daley, a niece of the former mayor, who had been working in London. Her father, Michael Daley, is a brother of the former mayor and a partner in the family law firm of Daley & George.

"At the time of the engagement party, Denham was separated from his first wife and living in a condominium near Belmont and Halsted. He is now married to Jill Conroy Denham, whose older brother, Sean Conroy, is the husband of Nora Daley Conroy, the former mayor’s oldest daughter.

"Jill Conroy Denham and Nora and Sean Conroy all attended Fairfield University in Connecticut.

"Conroy Denham graduated from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While in law school, she had an internship with then-Cook County State’s Attorney Richard Devine, a longtime friend of the Daley family whose office decided in 2004 that the police didn’t have enough evidence to charge anyone with any crime in Koschman’s death.

"Conroy Denham passed the Illinois Bar exam in 2004 and was hired as an associate attorney at Daley & George.

"Craig Denham is now chief operating officer of Wanzenberg Partners, a small financial advisory firm based in Chicago...."

Inceast is cleaner and more straightforward than this bunch and all their connections...

Reporters get a bad rap/rep here.

Sometimes it's deserved.

Not this time. The Sun Times did great work here.

Unlike say Devine, Alvarez, various members of the CPD,, multiple ASA's, various connected witnesses who lied and obstructed justice etc etc etc.

The judge who ordered the special prosecutor is to be commended to.

As an aside didn't some mope yell at Rich Daley on the street a few years back and get 2-3 years in jail? I'm not making that up.

Shit.

Just dropped the suit like that huh. Yeah right, I had some legit bad luck and fell behind on my mortgage. Believe me the banks forget NOTHING. Unless of course it's the bank that Bill Daley has his hands tied into.

This is a totally wrong sentence - but not really surprising in Cook County. The scales of justice always have the hidden hand of clout "tipping the scales of justice" in favor of the connected.

Maybe 60 days in Sheriff Arpaio's jail in Arizona would at least be a little more acceptable to those of us who think justice is not being served in Cook County.

Vote the judge out if you think it was unfair. My vote can't do it alone.

SUBJECT: VSEP/VRI

2/01/2014 01:11:00 PM

There's no complaining going in here. I see the OP telling the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. It's not easy hearing someone tell you to live within your means. You "play hard"?? Ha!!! We'll see how hard you play when RhamBo decimates your pension so badly (which working VRI and Special does affect!) that you'll be lucky to buy gas when you're 70.

You're having trouble living within your means when you make 85k-90k?? Then get a a side job with a private employer and quit screwing yourself and the rest of us!

I feel so sorry for David Koschman's mother. This is a slap in the face. It's almost worse to see this kind of ending than for no criminal prosecution to have happened at all.

How do the people responsible for this travesty of justice walk the halls of the districts/areas that we work in with them. DW should have been fired long ago. He 'found' the file? Bullsh*t. Shame on Vanecko, the prosecutor, and all involved in the cover-up of this crime. I hope you all lose sleep over this for the rest of your lives.

What a horrifying thing for David's mother. And I guess David's life was only worth $20,000? Another slap in the face. Someone who knows how to do it should start a fund to send her on a long-needed vacation and take care of her in her retirement.

Shame on all of those involved. This is a case that makes my stomach turn.

If you are clueless and shortsighted enough to just think just about your V.R.I. activity you really are a Nothing but a SCAB.

2/01/2014 02:03:00 PM

Amen. Send a message.

The clueless ivory tower will keep finding other ways to screw you, and you won't even know it. Case in point, RBT detectives now have to 'debrief' all narcotics arrestees from 'violence zones', a la McScrewBall's idea at compcrap.

Mind you, violent crimes has refused to conduct said debriefings. RBT has been assigned the task to debrief each arrestee about violent crimes like murders and shootings, even though RBT det's don't handle those cases.

If the debriefing from the RBT det is positive, they are to immediately notify violent crimes so the real detectives can follow up.

Mind you, there is more than one way to screw a pooch.

A big f*ck you to McScrewBall for another idiotic 'strategy' that will result in diddly-squat, just like the snitch boxes. Anybody ever seen one? Anybody have a pic of one?

Again, f*ck you McJerseyBallRag. Have another beer next Wed. before compcrap, show up hung-over and reeking of booze and stomp out because you are a f*ckwad extraordinaire.

Absolutely.

I'm actually surprised that Vanecko made a deal. For all the secrecy and lies told to investigators of his incident, it was basically two drunken men in a minor scuffle, in which one struck his head on concrete, causing his death. I believe that if Vanecko had stuck around and handled it like a man with the squad car that responded, he probably would have never been charged, and even if he were, he would have been acquitted in a trial. I suspect that Vancecko's lawyers sensed that with so much hatred for the Daleys and their relatives, it was safer for his client to strike a deal which will result in minimal skin being shaved off his client's nose. Serving the skimpy sentence in McHenry County will be a snap, any wrongful death lawsuit will be quickly settled, and Vanecko will be back to his wonderful privileged life in California before the Cherry Blossoms bloom in our Nation's capital.

2/01/2014 06:31:00 PM

Right, let's be clear here, the drunken asshole that Cozzi gave a minor tune-up to, and that is all it was, a minor tune-up, was not even admitted to the hospital and suffered no serious or lasting injuries. It is Cozzi who should be reprimanded for giving a lousy beating. It looked much worse than it was, that is us being clear here.

So it seems that Cozzi was punished for the perception of administering a world class beating within an inch of assholes life, not the actual beating which wasn't much as all. The guy walked out of the hospital later.

So going forward, to be clear here, Vanecko just gave the Koschman kid one punch. That knocked him down and he hit the pavement full force with his head which caused his death some days later.

So, one victim is dead and buried, the other walked out of the hospital as big a drunken asshole as he was when he got there.

The involuntary manslaughter offender got 60 days, 10 years later. The cop charged with battery lost everything and went to prison for almost 4 years. That was Cozzi's second conviction for the same offense. They got around the double jeopardy rule by charging Cozzi with civil rights violations, not battery.

And yes, there is and will continue to be much hatred for Daley and his extended family. Rightly so too.

I just read the stuttering prick is in the hospital. If he croaks there tonight I will attend his wake only to make sure the asshole is dead. Then I will celebrate.

The other 30 minutes may be chasing a shithead over hill and dale with a flying tackle to get him...then losing sleep over a bullshit lawsuit and God knows what else. Not to mention being witness to the atrocities human beings are capable of and having those images seared in your brain forever?

If you call that doing nothing, f*ck you. Put a price on us willing to protect your ass when it needs protecting. We'll throw ourselves between you and a bad guy, run into a burning building to haul you and your kids out.

When a guy was drowning in Lake Michigan, my husband, in uniform, stripped down to his skivvies, jumped in, and saved the guy. His day before that was what you call routine, 'doing nothing', responding to calls and serving citizens.

We earn our pay by putting ourselves in harm's way and being willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

All the rest is bullshit money grabbing by the city.

Dean Angelo was in our roll call today. He talked about his disability. He said that he was forced on disability by the City. He never said that he tried to come back. I know that if you can walk unassisted and qualify with your weapon then the department has to take you back. Dean has collected over $600,000 in the last 9 years from our pension fund. He works full time at Calumet College and he now wants to be FOP President. He is walking all over this City going to roll calls (walking unassisted). Does he think we are fools? This man is scamming the system. Its even sadder that after the Sun-Times article last year that this guy would try and run for such a position.

Well . . .
HELLLO T. Ladner.
If this is true then the Dept should move to have him reinstated to a limited duty position and he can work until retirement.
We all know that aint gonna happen.
D.A. has no intention of coming back to work. We all know that the Dept. did not force him off the job.
I recall numerous officers that were on duty Disability that the Dept. brought back to work in limited duty positions.
There are a few that are actually working at the Academy as we speak.
So Dean, GFY! Your full of it!

How can citywide team blame Shields for everything. They can't.

2/01/2014 11:10:00 PM
-----------------------------------
These f!@&$g a$$ holes sat there for the past 2+ years ( with Shields) and did NOTHING to help the rank and file. They reaped all the benefits of those positions at the hall and screwed the rest of us.
NOW they say they are going to stand up and properly represent the FOP membership.
What did you do the past almost three years?
Now you want me to trust that your going to do right by the membership?
You had your chance.
It's over for all you Citywide guys and anyone who was EVER on the FOP board!!
You are DONE and GONE !

All that changed last year. Now you get one year limited duty whether the injury is duty or non duty related. Then you either go full duty or are put on IOD or ordinary disability.

For any of the Pilot Districts switching to the Platoon system, enough is enough. If you come in with one cent of revenue you are not only a fool but a coward. The whole concept revolves around micromanaging people and pitting platoons against each other. If everyone stands together and comes in with zeros then no one will be singled out. If you are clueless and shortsighted enough to just think just about your V.R.I. activity you really are a Nothing but a SCAB.

2/01/2014 02:03:00 PM

Hey Mr. Big Balls ... why don't YOU come to our "pilot" district and tell our bosses your not doing anything? It's obvious that you don't do anything now except write anonymous dribble on the blog. Go back to your mother's basement.

Wishful thinking. Why couldn't he have stroked out around 1989? Before he bankrupted our pension funds.

So let me get this straight. Some one out there calls the people who work special and VRI "scabs". REALLY! I didn't know we were crossing a picket line or some other sort of line of protesters. Do you really think the city will cave in to any demands, requests or whatever from the F.O.P. if all of a sudden 1 or 10 or 100 or 1000 coppers stopped working special? Do you really think the city will magically hire thousands more police ? Maybe you have not noticed but everyone everywhere is doing more with less mostly due to wasteful government spending on certain "people" to do nothing their whole life but get high, drunk and spit out babies every year. But you go ahead and keep on blaming your fellow coppers for trying to make a little extra money because the politicians are always stealing their money before they even see it. Cause that's exactly what the politicians want you to do, blame everyone but them

2/01/2014 12:45:00 PM

I'm with you brother. These asshats bitching about it are the same ones that can't get it and want you to stop so they open it up for the fatcat lazy detectives, these fuckwads would jump all over the chance to work it. So keep working it, they ain't supporting your family...YOU ARE. screw them asshats. They are also the ones that are too lazy to do the absolute minimum tickets and activity.

Interesting comments here....

My belief is-if the Detectives who worked that heater case from the git-go, if they could have put a case on Vanecko at the time they would have done so primarily for the young Koschman & family but probably MORE because of the common hatred of the Daley family AFTER Mayor Daley Sr, that is.

We go out there every day with a target on our backs. You call that doing nothing? 7.5 hours of what you call 'doing nothing' is actually routine patrol, where we serve and protect.

By the way, you're welcome.

Bet you won't offer a thank-you.

Asshat.
*******************
Really? I almost bought your rant...until, well the Hill and dale thing was kind of funny but the meat of this is you think your husband wasn't "thanked"?!?

(How much you wanna bet?)

But first-remember that this is at times a thankless job.

HOWEVER,
There are plenty out there that appreciate what we do, what we have done and/or what we will do in the future.
Back to the bet though...

Your husband has the honor knowing HE saved a life...he did great and made CPD look great!Thank you. Again. And again.
Now you're welcome.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Predictable. The CityWide team submarined Shields and in the process screwed all of us. Bill Dougherty stopped his phone call with the vet and brought in Geiger to the room and put the call on speaker phone. Then they double teamed the vet.

So the CityWide attack machine is at it again. Angelo is in their sites now, but no attacks on Tommy McDonagh? Sorry but it looks like to an outsider that he is in bed with Graham and the rest of the CityWide Guys....

Why would anyone vote to bring back Donahue as a trustee? Why would any P.O. Vote for a Sergeant to be a trustee in a Police Officers Union? What do these guys bring to the table?

Open up your FOP calendar book. Look at those names. Think of term limits. DO NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE FOR TWO TERMS OR MORE!!!

Yes, you are scabs. You are crossing a picket line, your own picket line, but are too stupid to see that. You are doing the job that if we banded together are refused to do, they would be forced to hire for. That would add people to the payroll and contributing members toward the pension.

2/01/2014 03:25:00 PM
So I guess you never wrote 1 ticket your whole do nothing police career !!! Because if you did then you would be one of those scabs you so hate. And no I still do not see any picket line unless of course you are the only one standing in it. You say the city would be "forced" to hire (talk about stupid) when has or will this city be forced to do any thing ? And last I looked there are always hundreds if not thousands of coppers willing to work special and if any of them have less seniority than you then they are glad you don't put in for it

365 days for non-duty related limited duty

Duty related limited duty has no limitation and anyone duty related can work their whole careet duty related limited duty.

To all the haters...As a copper, I know if that was my kid involved in some shit like that I would do everything I could to help him out..I would be calling every cop I know that was pertinent to the case and beg for a favor. I'd be camped out at the S.A. office kissing Alverez's ass day and night to save my kid from some stupid shit he did while drunk on Rush street. If anyone denied they would do the same as I, you're not only a liar, but a hypocrite and a douchebag to boot. Anyone who holds any malice towards Vanecko or the cops who tried to help the Daley's nephew out better hope Karma doesn't come a knockin!

When the Union tells me to stop working VRI/Special, I'll stop. Until then, call me a scab at roll call. . . I'd like that. Lastly, please post the information (for all of our benefit) on those private sector jobs, where we can make 40+ on our RDO. I think everyone would appreciate that. If you can't, then your blowing smoke and you can GFY, "brother".

Hey, how the hell would YOU know if we did stop working VRI. Maybe, just maybe if there is no one in these boxes and life goes on as NORMAL, and then they might just see they need more police on this job.
Yeah, your the one who wants to do MORE WITH LESS. Until someone you know gets hurt because McDipshit has people sitting in a box who can't leave.
Like he said, keep getting your movers, parking tickets and contact cards you tool. Because,. . "that's exactly what the politicians want you to do, blame everyone but them"

2/01/2014 07:48:00 PM

So tell me then, just how do YOU KNOW exactly what will happen if there was no more special? The city will hire a few thousand cops the next day right ?? And I've known plenty of cops who have been hurt regardless of the amounts of cops working. But with your 4 years on the job you would say you've seen it all already huh kid

Reports say: "The second of three men charged in the "Pick 'Em Out and Knock 'Em Out" attack and slaying of a 62-year-old father of 12 pled guilty and was sentenced to 27 years in prison today, authorities said.

Nicholas Ayala, 18, pled guilty today to murder and robbery before Cook County Criminal Court Judge Joseph Claps and was sentenced to 27 years in prison. in the 2012 killing of Delfino Mora. Ayala, Anthony Malcolm, 20, and Malik Jones, were each charged with first-degree murder and robbery Mora’s slaying."

Now, why is there such a difference in sentence? Is it because one was a relative of The Machine?
