- A parolee has been charged in the shooting death of a clerk at a Bensenville store as police search for the gunman in the slaying.
Kenneth Bardlett, 20, of Bellwood accompanied the man who fatally shot Hussein Saghir during an attempted holdup Jan. 19, DuPage County prosecutors said. Bardlett was charged with first-degree murder and ordered held Wednesday on $2.5 million bail. Assistant State’s Attorney Tim Diamond said he could not offer additional details about Bardlett’s arrest because of the search for the other man involved in the shooting.
Saghir, 36, was shot during a confrontation outside Sam’s Tobacco and Food Mart, 235 W. Irving Park Road.

Again, like I have said many times over if families of victims started suing the parole board members individually they would start doing their jobs. Especially the families of Officer Flisk, Soderberg, Bailey, Lewis, Wortham, Valadez
And any other officer who was killed at the hands of a parolee.

Cook Co. Courts have to tread a fine line. If they are over zealous they risk the Federal Attorney Generals Office coming down on them for discrimination and racism. AG Holder is already upset at the number of minorities behind bars.
Also, don't forget that the black Alderman and Alderwoman say mandatory sentencing guidelines for weapons violations do not make sense. Because they disproportionally affect minorities. You'll get hit with the tax here when you register the vehicle. Register it in Cook and you'll pay more than if you were registering it in, say, Jo Davies Co. It won't matter where the vehicle was purchased.

Judges do not like being told what to do and what not to do. There are a few standout, good judges in Cook County, but the operative word is "few". Most people don't know the difference, and simply vote yes for all of the ones listed on the ballots. Big mistake! That's how they get in, in the first place. You take the bill of sale to the secretary of states office when you register the car in Illinois to get the plates. At that time they see how much tax you paid in Wisconsin and the difference between that tax and Illinois If its at least equal to Illinois tax you pay no additional tax in Illinois. Have done it several times with auto purchased in Las Vegas

Safe and Sound was raided by Indiana State Excise police in October 2011 for serving alcohol without a license. In that raid, 13 people ranging in age from 50 to 87 years old who were inside the club were charged.
The owner of the club at the time was charged with promoting professional gambling and serving alcohol without a permit. The other dozen people were charged with visiting a common nuisance.
Police seized a craps table, beer and liquor during that raid.

They want to move all the retirees to a Medicare Advantage plan and full insure the spouse and children. Dont let the city tell you this is better than what you have. If you didnt qualify for ss then the only place you can buy Medicare under Obama care is through Medicare itself. This alone with no a/b coverage will cost you $825 per member. Currently this city drug plan does not have a donut hole. All of Aetnas have a donut hole, which means if you take a lot of rx you could expect to spend about $2400 more per year out of pocket.

The Feds don't really care about sentencing violent offenders, as Cook County is the biggest feeder of prisoners into the penal system, Judges are given a quota mandate as to the amount of convicts they can send downstate. That being said the Judges have very little discretion as to sentencing. They try to play Carnac The Magnificent in determining who to send. Are Judges in Cook County to blame? Partially, the whole system is broken, primarily due to County and City politics and the unwillingness to incarcerate potentially violent criminals. Mean while we the people suffer! The outlying counties don't have this problem, they have a system that allows the Judges to protect the community. Ask any Attorney that practices in Dupage about their plea deals, it's basically "LEGIT".

Sorry but I am about to bust the popular myth that "Dupage County is tough on crime while Cook County is soft on crime". My dad's friend was beaten into a coma by two Latino kids. It was part of a gang initiation. Both of them had lengthy criminal histories. Both got slaps on the wrist. In another case, an armed robber in Downers Grove ended up getting a light sentence. The same sentence he would have received in Cook County. Unless the people rise up and demand justice- nothing is going to change. If the politicians can get away with doing something on the cheap while the populace is sleeping on the wheel they will do it.

And what story makes national news?, a white male shot into a van with six black teenagers, killing one of them after he says he was defending himself because a shot gun was pointed at him from one of the vans occupants and someone said kill him. He the same John Mahoney from the Cook County State Attorney Special Prosecution Unit. He prosecuted a suburban Cop for political gain. Turned the cops life upside down over some B.S. Why would we endorse someone like that? Say no more.

Really? And who gives the judges this “quota”? The discretion the judges have in sentencing is called the Illinois Sentencing Code and it’s at 730 ILCS 5/ et seq. and there’s plenty of options for long prison sentences. Maybe the problem that most Crook Co judges make it to the bench because of their connections to the Democratic Party and not because they understand the sentencing code, the law, or anything else. Boot camps and drug courts do not work. They are a joke and are used to sweep crime and criminals under the rug by a corrupt and incompetent government.
The solution is to ALWAYS vote a resounding “NO” for ALL judges on retention ballots. The good judges will always survive a retention vote, but it’s the many hacks and borderline judges that can be flushed if enough people follow this rule.
And 3:02 PM. You’re wrong. There may be a few exceptions, but DuPage hammers felons compared to Crook.
Parole, or what is now called MSR (Mandatory Supervised Release) in Illinois, is -- like Boot Camp, TASC and drug court -- a joke.
Prisoners released on MSR never have their MSR revoked or sent back to prison. It's not like the old days when prisoners walked on thin ice and would get sent back to prison if their parole officer caught them looking the wrong way. MSR simply functions as a mechanism to put Democratic voters back on the street and out of prison.

Sorry but I am about to bust the popular myth that "Dupage County is tough on crime while Cook County is soft on crime". My dad's friend was beaten into a coma by two Latino kids. It was part of a gang initiation. Both of them had lengthy criminal histories. Both got slaps on the wrist. In another case, an armed robber in Downers Grove ended up getting a light sentence. The same sentence he would have received in Cook County. Unless the people rise up and demand justice- nothing is going to change. If the politicians can get away with doing something on the cheap while the populace is sleeping on the wheel they will do it.

Okay; you buy your car in Wisconsin find an address to register your car at. Not in shitcago or Illinois. No crook county tax no more worry about emission tests. The only dilemma you may have is getting your name on bills or other paperwork for the address of registration. Just buy a city sticker to cover your ass. The car doesn't need city registration to have sticker. Then in case you retire soon no more sticker. It can work.
The last time I saw Dean a Angelo was in 2002 when him and his brother in law Ralph Shauf ran with Blago into a union meeting where Blago asked for our support. Dean and Ralph were Blagos drivers and body guards. Dean didn't have a hitch in his step like he has now. Some of us remember the real scam boys.
To the guy asking about buying a car in Wisconsin. I bought one from Carmax in Kenosha. At the time of purchase the dealer advised me that there was a special Cook County tax. Turns out that anytime you buy anything out of state Cook County wants to tax you. The thing is that most of the time they don't know that you are buying anything. As an example, let's say you buy a refrigerator from Sears up there and ship it to your Chicago home because you got a good deal. Cook County wants to tax it. But they don't know that you bought anything unlike a car where you have to register it. Anyway, when I bought the car the dealer told me about it and advised me that it would be better to pay the tax up front because if I didn't, Cook County would be relentless in trying to get their money. So I paid it up front. Then, after a couple of months I receive a bill from Cook County for that same tax. I call Carmax and the finance lady tells me that this happens every three sales or so. She looks up my account and sure enough she says the tax was already paid. She even sends me a receipt from Cook County indicating it was already paid. She tells me not to worry that she will take care of it. I get a couple more bills and then they stop. But I wonder how many people simply pay the second bill not realizing that it's already been paid. So be forewarned. If you have to register it, Cook County knows about it and wants a cut. Other than that buying a car in Wisconsin went smoothly. But one cannot escape the evilness that permeates Cook County/Chicago no matter where you are.

California must allow law-abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms in public, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday, striking down the core of the state's permit system for handguns.
In a 2-1 decision, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said San Diego County violates the Constitution's Second Amendment by requiring residents to show "good cause" - and not merely the desire to protect themselves - to obtain a concealed-weapons permit.
State law requires applicants to demonstrate good cause, as well as good moral character, to carry concealed handguns, while leaving the permit process up to each city and county. The ruling, if it stands, would require local governments to issue permits to anyone of good moral character who wants to carry a concealed gun for self-protection.
"The right to bear arms includes the right to carry an operable firearm outside the home for the lawful purpose of self-defense," Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain said in the majority opinion.
He disagreed with federal appeals courts that have upheld similar laws in New York, New Jersey and Maryland, while endorsing an appellate court that struck down Illinois' absolute ban on concealed weapons in public. The split among appellate circuits increases the prospect that the U.S. Supreme Court will take up the issue.

The mouth breathers have been able to run registrations for all Illinois plates excluding temps through their hand held ticket computers. I ran into one the other day in 019 that was typing while walking, and asked what he was doing and he showed me using His own license plate number for an example. Its as accurate as our PDT's are, but don't show name or address. He told me that the Senior Clerk License Inspector is trying to get Finance and Clerk software updated to where they can get ALL plates Regardless of State of Issuance tied in to run a Name Check against Water Bills and City Employment Records and that the 1st Deputy at Finance is supporting this. He even volunteered info that PEA's have been instructed to just Ticket for No City Sticker on all vehicles parked in City Employee Parking Only Lots unless they can determine that the vehicle is a Rental and not even bother with a registration check, but use comments "Parked in City Employee Lot, No City Sticker."
It just got harder to play the registration game if you work for the City.

Ot: Help requested….I recently purchased a chevy silverado in Monroe WI…and had to pay IL tax, however, it's registered in Jo Davies county, IL so taxes were not a big issue…approx. 3K IL tax,but no county or city tax.

The answer to your question is a factual yes. Yes, in fact, the statistics generated by the UCR do show black males responsible for more crime than any other group.
This does account for your sad attempt to bury your head in the sand and delusional hope that, maybe, just maybe, it only means more blacks are arrested.
The statistics you're ignoring are the clear identifying factors where VICTIMS describe their offenders.
The police don't get to choose for a victim reporting a crime who the offender was, or what he looked like, or what he was wearing, for that matter.
That is why black victims are probably the most mistreated as a group nationally. Every time you see an uproar in some big city courthouse or activist march about "too many black males" being arrested, and then prematurely paroled or allowed to go unpunished, the likelihood is greater, that the victim being unjustly mistreated, is black.

One of the true benefits of truth in sentencing laws is that it took discretion away from parole boards in the days when a killer could be convicted, get the minimum (20 yrs) and be back out on the street in 8.
The courts have almost as much power as we do. They possess the power over a person's freedom, same as us. The only difference is they cannot take a man's life-literally.
Yet we have tons of oversight, committees, IPRA, IAD, watchdog groups, society, the works, all keeping tabs on our actions and holding us the flame. Who or what entity does the very same for the courts?
The victims family should sue the judge, the county, dart, evans and preckwinkle.....it their fault this savage was out because of their negligence and disregard for laws/sentencing that caused this to happen....maybe a hit to the wallet will get their heads out of their asses....

For CPD for a duty related injury, absolutely tax free. And you can file an amended return to get a refund on taxes paid if within three years of the due date for the tax return.
Ex. 2010 return, due April 15 2011, plus three years for amended return = April 15, 2014.

Absolutely true. Go to personel. They have a form to fill out which lists the amount of disability income to be excluded from your taxes. They then send it to you home address in about a week.
