ISP Trooper Still Critical
The fiery crash that killed an Illinois Tollway worker and severely injured a Trooper has fallen mostly out of public sight. We heard that he is still in critical condition and accounts have been set up in both mens' names to help defray incidental costs not covered by insurance:
- To support Tpr. Doug Balder and his family (two kids 3 and 8 and wife)
there is an account set up at the Illinois State Police Credit Union
under the name Trooper Douglas Balder Benefit. Those interested can send
a check to the credit union 730 Engineering Ave. Springfield, IL.
62703. He could really use it. He is still critical in the hospital.
If they also want to donate to Vincent Petrella's family (tollway worker killed) they can at any Chase Bank under the name Vincenzo Enzo Memorial Trust account # 3020146931. Vince had two small kids ages 4 and 7 and a wife he left behind.
Any help is appreciated...

My prayers...
For a full and complete recovery.
I enjoy helping as fellow law enforcement. I give $25/month to wounded warriors and will help these poor officers and their families. However, where are the jagoff politicians who always say that we deserve and will receive the public's support when these things happen. These liberals always say that government will take care of everything until we actually need them. They are a joke.
My prayers are with both families and I'm sending a check for the Trooper.
The TV news this morning said that Balder has filed suit against the driver and the trucking company.
My condolences to the Petrella family for their loss, and I pray that Balder recovers fully from his injuries.
i have dealings with the trucking company... they are not the brightest crayons in the bread drawer...
My prayers..Hope everything turns out well Trooper. We will always have your backs.
The Blue Tornado
Good cause.
Prayers for both families what a tragedy.

Anything you would like to share that could help?
Where does all that toll money go? How about those political hacks helping these families in need out.
I work part time for a very large trucking firm as a driver, they are very strict on compliance, your truck is maintained to the highest standards, the dispatchers will shut you down when you reach your 11 hr. driving limit, for these fly by night companies to operate has to be blamed partially on the State police and the ICC. who are supposed to police the companies. There are many trucking companies owned and operated by immigrants who have a total disregard for the law. Pacella trucking located at 2600 s. Damen and has political ties has operated with priviledge for years and has leased trucks operated by immigrant Polish that have trucks that are falling apart. This company DND which was involved in the accident with the death and injury are another company that is terrible, but even with a bad safety record is allowed to operate, why because, simply put it spends money on Fuel. license plates and tolls. The Chicago police need to have a truck enforcement unit that must be trained by the State Police for DOT Compliance laws but it is easily done, however our past Mayor did not want his pal Marina Cartage messed with, so it was swept under the table. We have railyards that many unlawful trucks haul trailers out of around the clock and if our city was interested in Enforcement and revenue could collect millions in overweight fines and unsafe vehicles could be put out of service. But the bottom line is that all this just barely compliant trucking companies are all, owed to run rampant on our streets and highways terrorizing the innocent drivers. just drive our expressways and you too will will victimized by the assholes. WE NEED AN ENFORCEMENT UNIT, not just the department of revenue setting up portable scales every now and then.

Enforcement is out there but the courts amend the citations and drop the ball. Drive with an ISP trooper and see it for yourself.
