Three Shot...Maybe by the Police

  • Three men were seriously wounded after Chicago police opened fire on a fleeing car on the Dan Ryan Expressway, then fired on the car again after it exited at 35th Street and crashed into a snow bank, authorities said.

The three suspects were transported in serious to critical condition, two to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and one to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, officials said. No officers were hurt.

Officers began chasing a white Kia Optima after it was involved in a shootout with another group of people at Ferdinand Street and Hamlin Avenue on the West Side around 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

The officers witnessed the shooting and were radioing it in when someone began firing, according to a police statement and Pat Camden, a spokesman for the Fraternal Order of Police. The attacker got into a car and it sped off and the officers, uninjured, followed.
Sounds like the first cops ran into a gang hit that escalated. An e-mailer tells us that at least one cop was injured went the suspects rammed a squad car. It still sounds like an excellent job all around, and best wishes to the possibly injured officer for a speedy recovery.

TV reports claim -- officers pulled alongside the fleeing car on the xway and observed suspect in back seat had a 9mm pistol w/extended magazine, if I understood right that is when they fired on him.

God bless. Be careful...

Thank God none of our men and women in blue were seriously hurt. Same goes for all those citizens going about their daily business contributing to an orderly society when these criminal thugs disregarded their safety by making the conscious decision to drive recklessly, disregard traffic laws and endanger each and every one of their lives. Thank God these fools were stopped by high velocity jacketed hollow point lead before they could cause further destruction and mayhem. Thank God we are blessed with men and women who disregard their personal safety and put an end to the lawlessness on the West Side and do the right thing.

The legal libtards and Rahm’s north shore civil rights minded social-justice attorneys see an opportunity to cash in $$$ after felonious behavior and resulting circumstances from these criminals and the definitive, lawful police response. Maybe these criminals have wronged legitimate citizens in the past. Past victims should file their civil lawsuits in anticipation of these thugs collecting $$$ in some bullshit lawsuit. These shithead thugs have no tangible assets/income to collect from. However, it is probable they will set into motion unlawful, reckless circumstances at some point in time where an opportunity to cash in will present itself. These shitheads are opportunistic, so something such as trivial as a traffic crash, overcrowding at a jail, tight handcuffs during an arrest is their ticket to collect someone else’s money. Maybe victims of criminal acts should start rolling the dice and pursue civil judgments against the criminals in anticipation that these thugs with no redeeming values will one day ”get paid’ The criminal element cannot obey the everyday laws and adhere to expected societal norms, but civil cash-money making laws, the related legal court stuff along with their rights apply when they gonna get paid. Adherence to laws is selective and is only applicable when advantageous for these thugs. Greedy, ethically rooted attorneys who overlook known track records of criminal behavior see an opportunity to enhance their personal wealth ( not less than 1/3 of the final judgment & legal fees) through civil suits. Who say, crime and deviate behavior don’t pay?

A solution to 011’s problem can be solved with the appointment of 010’s commander. If these straight-up gangstas see the commander of 010, they will be confused. A new face will result in an identity crisis for those gangstas. Her alternative crime strategies have taken out and silenced the violent, murderous powerhouse Danni Mob street gang before the feds and top notch gang teams had to intervene and clean house. Is she a rising star at Stuper McCarthy’s Comcast bigtop clown-type circus meetings? She could unleash Bt 1062 and his puppies to enforce gang loitering, sales of loose cigarettes, soliciting, reckless conduct, drinking on the public way and other petty offenses. Relentless contact card missions will crush the gangs and the eliminate drug sales in 011 and bring much needed relief to residents. Her ultimate weapon, Bt 1070 will conversate with known gang members and communicate the department’s gang strategies along with his dazzling brilliance ad nauseum to the point where they will be driven into submission and forced to set up shop elsewhere. The commander could line up lots of new boxes. These drug and gang missions boxes would be modeled on her successful patented “Danni Mob” crime reduction strategies. If she relocated to 011, it would be a definite loss for 010, but a certain morale booster for the district to the north. By the way, what is a “Danni Mob” gang which no one has heard of which has cars tied up in 010 while there is a backlog on calls for service? Inquiring minds want to know.

All that matters is that the Thin Blue Line went home safely to our families.

Heard that the 2nd watch LT took a few minutes to put a tie on, find his crown hat and put on a duty belt.

The Previous Watch Commander would have run out the door and jumped into a squad car without his hat or tie, and his Duty belt was always on.

How times have changed.

Just glad all of us went home.

Did she actually complain because she was put on patrol and it was dangerous?
Reminds me of the blonde in my academy class who quit because she found out there were three watches and she'd most likely have to work mids the first year or two.
Scary stuff, this police job. (And I'm not being sexist; I'm a female, newly retired.)
If she wasn't demoted and didn't lose income, she doesn't have a lot to bitch about. She worked there at the whim of the superintendent and she can be transferred at the whim of the superintendent.

Prayers to all the officers involved - great work. Another small win might be the exposure of the horrific conditions of the CPD fleet. Anybody watching the news videos saw the DREADFUL condition of the CPD squad cars & Tahoes. That should be a call of alarm by concerned citizens (right after the defibrillators). Based on the scarred exteriors, one can only imagine the terrible condition of the engine, peripherals & the inside ... What can be done?
Be safe! Down the car if it unsafe!

Like SCC I would not endorse any candidate. But there are several that should NEVER hold office again!

While Shields dropped the ball he had help from others. A fuck is fuck up but these people hide it from us and lied at meeting after meeting. Shields, Dougherty, DiMaria, Gorman, Donahue and Richard Aguliar all lied to US for over a year that it was taken care of.

F-ing me is bad enough but lying to my face for over a year is worse than the f-up to me.

Please vote but just not for any of the above.

nope, unless we really catch up we already are way behind last year and wayyyy behind the year before. Even on the few days it was "warm" its just not the same as what would happen on a similar day in the past. Theres just no pop anymore with dude. He will get back into swing but chicago is not what it once was. The ones doing the shootings are the young high school kids. Thugs makin money and shorties shootin. Its not the same.. stop praying for a bloodbath, its not gonna happen like it use to. it just shows how much time/experience you have with is not much. If you experienced the late 70s, 80s and 90s with crack etc you would know what really happens on a 40 degree day after alot of cold.. that hasnt happened. Im predicting 20 less homicides this year than last year... easily. the streets dont have it like they use to.
