- The official Chicago police tally of shootings last weekend was a rare number: zero.
The streak started after a 41-year-old man was shot at 8:20 p.m. Friday in the Austin community and was still going as of midday Monday, according to a police spokesman.
That streak nearly came to an end late Sunday when a crime victim pulled out a gun while trying to defend himself during an attempted robbery on the West Side, but he ended up wounding himself in the foot, authorities said. Police typically don't count self-inflicted gunshot victims as part of their official shooting tally.
Well, at least not since it might endanger a goose-egg on the board.

I wouldn't suggest the weather had nothing to do with there being no shootings in Chicago over the weekend.
But I might suggest that all that fresh snow might be covering one or two undiscovered dead bodies, who just might have been shooting victims. Since the cold keeps the dead bodies from decaying, nobody would catch the scent coming from a trunk or an abandoned building for a few days...like when it gets warm this Wednesday and Thursday.
Imagine what a great leader McClueless would be if he were police chief in Alaska or Buffalo or International Falls...places with lots of snow and harsh winters.
The "victim" who capped himself was actually a 15 or 16 yr old kid. I'm thinking he probably was not a card-carrying member of the NRA, and doesn't have his CCW permit just yet.

Besides, it's now being reported that some kid was shot in Lakeview (of all places) this AM. It'll probably be classified as another selfie to keep the streak alive.
