IAD Heard From

From the comments regarding the case report narrative we "acquired:"
  • sure hope you got that from a legit freedom of information act. IAD initiated a blanket cr now because it showed up on this site. I work in IAD, nothing usually happens with this stuff but sometimes it does.. Its not the fact that anyone should be nervous about it but its a pain in the ass for us to have to deal with now.... cmon guys, get your head out of your ass and stop pulling reports and posting them online, it will only get you jammed up. Now we have to pull every pc number that pulled the report and interview or get a statement from all those who did it.. use your heads, everything has an electronic signature on it these days.
Sorry, our sympathy for the guys and gals at IAD is kind of thin ever since the Barb West era when she ran an illegal First Amendment investigation that included home/work surveillance and god knows how many man-hours in a fruitless attempt to nail someone. We assume that you guys still have the file somewhere in the archives? It's interesting reading, isn't it?

As someone else asked, don't you guys have to pull an entirely new Log Number for revealing the contents/progress of an on-going investigation? Besides, once everyone denies having disseminated the report, it's "Not Sustained" anyway.

It makes us look horrible to the outside public who view this site. Especially the same 100 or so miserable sob's who put negative comments here day in and day out... which is exactly why I tell everyone im an electrician when im in public. Im the police for specific reasons only, money, flexability, pension(maybe) and its a city job which beats any public sector job any day. the rest of you can suck the fat one.

Funny for an old homicide covered up by exempts and dicks not a peep!

Lost felony files folders/ phony witness statement/ video not recovered.

But heaven forbid you read a public document because the white shirt think that the info on those reports is top secret.

Oh well i got mine from the commanders desk and made copies the old fashion way.

How is IAD going to prove who sent SCC the narrative by pulling the PC numbers for who viewed the case report. The only way they could find out who sent SCC the narrative is if they were to get a search warrant for the electronic message containing the narrative information sent to you. I guess it could happen and I am sure the dept will spend the money fighting this case legally just to show officers the dept will disclipin or fire those involved with deciminating confidential police information. maybe nothing will come of this but it is still possible that it could. Hope the officer was smart enough to not use department email to send you the info.

Start with Those that have had access to other PO's Records.

WTF is That. Just because you work for a commander etc you shouldn't be allowed to snoop on other Cops.

You need to good back at Least 7yrs and check on these special folks. Why are they looking at other cops records and for what purpose?????????

Rules have be violated and people should be fired

OT: For all residents on the Northwest Side in the Kelvyn Park to Belmont Cragin neighborhood. There is a guy going around knocking on doors and once he hears the occupants dogs or someone answers the door he runs off. When it occurred to me about 2 weeks ago(a sunday morning) the guy seemed to of had on some type of chain or a fake badge on a chain. Two of my neighbors have just had it happen to them in the past week also. He is a white or hispanic guy, about 5'10, little to no facial hair, bald, and each time had on a brown coat with a clear rip/tear on the front right side and a black shirt or hoodie under it.

Just read about the retired CPD officer injured in a home invasion and I just want to make sure everyone in Chicago stays safe. Speedy recovery officer.

Ps, SCC i know your site isn't some light pole, so I'll also try to get some letters on them in reality in my neighborhood if I can find the time.

You have to walk around your own home with your gun at the ready. You don't need a CC for that. Might as well make it a 12 ga. You don't want anyone but you telling the story.

Heal up there old sarge, you deserved much better than this.

I live at Harlem and Irving. Something similar happened about a month ago where a male Hispanic rang my door bell. My dog was barking at him through the door. By the time I got my gun (yes if I don't know you and you are ringing my door bell I have my gun) he was running to a Nissan altima that was waiting and peeled out. I got my car keys and tried to catch up to get a license plate but I could not.

Why are the rats afraid of a little sunshine? I can't believe the department is so afraid of public records of public employees being exposed to the public. How dare the public demand to know what's going on with their tax dollars and what kind of idiocy their elected officials engage in on a regular basis.

Each employee has a unique login and each computer has a unique MAC address. Just to inform the illiterate guys who post on the web and think it cant be traced. A MAC address is like a home address. Your exact location, when, and where can be traced through the ISP. Plus with cameras in the station it would be fairly easy to review the cameras with time stamps on logins. I could care less about this article but Im just trying to inform some guys so they don't fall into a trap later on at work or home. Stay safe.

the problem here is that the case report was pulled up and then disseminated to a "media" source.. if not a media source but a third party without a FOIA request.. Its against department rules. Now the koschman thing... dont worry, that will be cleaned up just fine by the feds....

yep, very nice gig. If you dont rob, steal or beat anybody without cause then no reason to dislike coppers in IAD. Dont do illegal things and you will have nothing to worry about. I did my time on the street. After SOS was disbanded I went back to a watch then was offered a spot to go so I absolutly took it.. Great for me, great for the family. I sold my soul in 153 when I bought into the guns guns guns do anything you can to get guns pep talks. Im done with police work. Ill ride out the next 5 years here and max out with 29 years and 54 years old... fine with me. "sold my soul to go to IAD".. hahahaha, yeah ok. Its not about doing police work or selling anything for this job. FK this job! You knobbers who are so gung ho can have it and you can make it run your life. Ill choose weekends off and straight days to be with my family.. now thats the most important thing these days, not you, the department or crime. Use your head and get your priorities together and start to realize what is really important in life.. not the gun pinch, not the big arrest and not the head a day number crap.. now go get that dime bag of dope stupid.

What happened to that officer who worked in IAD, nephew of an old narcotics judge, who was discovered living in Park Ridge? Did he get fired or forced to quit or was that glossed over with a slap on the wrist?

I heard he got outed by someone he fucked in an investigation. Such a shame those things happen to those investigators who are our friends, only trying to help us.

O/T
March 10, 2014 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The ABC7 I-Team has learned some people who applied for Illinois concealed carry gun permits are being notified of a computer glitch that may have allowed other applicants to see their personal information.

State police tell the I-Team the problem happened on the first day that people were able to apply using the Illinois concealed carry website. The problem was discovered January 5 and the letters sent out by state police are dated March 4.

"Essentially they have everything they need to create, create a new me. How am I going to make sure that there aren't people out there, people aren't getting guns in my name I have no control over?" said Eric Larkey, concealed carry participant.

A state police spokesperson says the problem lasted only during a short period of time and there's no evidence any personal information was stolen.

Eyewitness News initially reported incorrectly that 50,000 letters were sent out, but we're now told a few hundred were mailed as a precaution.
