Clout Prevails Again
The Machine takes care of its own....even when the tool becomes dull and useless:
- Prosecutors dropped gun charges against former Ald. Sharon Dixon (24th) Tuesday, but she has agreed to seek treatment in a 90-day inpatient program.
Last year, a Cook County judge ruled that Dixon was unfit to stand trial on charges alleging she approached Chicago Police officers outside the 10th district with a loaded gun in the spring of 2013.
Dixon, 51, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possessing a firearm without a license for the May 4, 2013 incident.
She was remanded to the Illinois Department of Human Services for an evaluation.
Remember, this is the aldercreature who drove drunk over hoses at a fire then berated the coppers who stopped her with the usual "Don't you know who I am?" bullshit as if she was going to get around parked fire apparatus. She got a pass on that somehow, too.
She was also (in)famous in 010 for getting a well-like officer removed from his car when he refused to do her go-fer work and insisted on serving the citizens of North Lawndale. She ran her political office out of her mother's basement and there were questions about expenditures on required political filings.
After being voted out, she ended up wandering into the 010 District with a loaded handgun. No one ever determined what she was intending to do, but we recall asking whether or not she had a valid FOID card or was claiming aldermanic privilege to carry a firearm despite not holding that office any longer.
Lo and behold, the entire linked article above makes no mention of revoking an FOID card for (A) being committed to Mt. Sinai Hospital for an evaluation nor (B) revoking an FOID card for "treatment in a 90-day inpatient program." This is assuming that an FOID card existed in the first place - which we have major doubts about in any event.

And this is just another reason why morale is so low and no one trusts any of the clowns in leadership positions. The average Joe would have had the book thrown at them. Coppers have been in front of the police board for much less. Watch your backs because if you don't known anyone your finished. Now go do your "ethics" training. The scumbag chicago politicians already did theirs! HAHAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!
So I'm assuming if I have a CCW and I forget my permit at home I'll get the same punishment?
Oh wait. I forgot. I'm not one of them.
I am shocked and outraged at Second City Cop for being so cruel to this woman. She was crying out for help when she entered the station with the loaded gun. How about she thought they were still giving out $100.00 gift cards for weapons turned in to the police. Maybe she thought the police station was a 7/11 and was going to hold you guys up. Take your pick.
Maybe she can bunk with that crazy ex judge who just lost her job. What a deadly duo.
SCC, you must certainly know that Party members are not subject to the rules of the masses. In fact, being a socialist party member absolves one of so called crimes which others would be imprisoned for.
Chicago demorat POS politician, only difference between her and the standard POS is that she gets taken care by the other Chicago demorat POSs.
Speaking of clout. A certain former commander now area deputy chief used to have two officers that worked days and we're assigned to the alderman. She gets promoted transfers them to the area and sends them right back to work for the alderman. Now I'm 100% sure my alderman doesn't have any officers assigned to him. For that matter we don't even have officers in the neighborhood.
Clouted like the gray haired orange sgt in 007
It's too bad she didn't raise the loaded weapon! It would have been a real good shoot! One less garbage on this Earth!
Only in Chicago. Its ruthless out there. Ninety days is nothin...who is the Judge?
Hey dont worry LT cl something ine will run up the ranks and fix it with his contact cards. In 2 months he destroyed nights in 011 now a team gone
BS and the brass wonders why there is no activity......
She will probably get re elected.
Note to CCW permit holders: If YOU try this, you can be sure the CCSAO will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law, and Preckwinkle will somehow find room for you at the jail.
Anita Alvarez has some explaining to do. Clearly there was a crime committed by Ms Dixon. Why Ms Dixon was not fully prosecuted just shows Anita Alvarez is corrupt.
It seems Anita Alvarez does not care about crime and lets certain people get away with things. Sick!
Yeah, and Shakman/Rahm say that political corruption can be handled by the IG's office.
Riiiiggghhhhttt.
Since the 9 digit midget wants to film gun purchasers perhaps he should add aldercreatures to the project. They seem to need the extra incentive to stay Honest, and God knows they really need the extra scrutiny 1
You have less of a penalty if you carry/posess illegally compared to a person who had a FOID who makes a mistake.
Chicago will never be cleaned up unless the city gets real about enforcing existing gun laws.
What a joke
I thought democrats wanted stronger gun control
Wow I remember this , the spineless Commander Pena was pissed because the LT in AC told the A/O's in 010 and the RBT Dicks to arrest her if she was released by the hospital. He did the right thing. She deserved to get arrested.
Off topic but worth a mention. I was working VRI a few days ago ( yes, kids ain't cheap and this is least painful OT I can find). A worked with a detective who I never met before. Throughout the night we had a rather long talk about working extra hours.
This guy was really nice dude, but offered a word of wisdom. He said he has been a Det for 23 yrs and he does about 120-150 hrs of OT a period in his unit as a Det. & when I asked why he was working VRI he said it wasn't for the money. The kids were gone, the wife left him and he had nothing left to do and he was just bored. As the night winded down he said something that kinda stuck- he said if he could do it over again he would spent less time chasing $$$ and more time with the kids when they were little. Anyway, nobody is saying don't work VRI or OT for that matter- the bills gotta get paid, just remember WHY you do it and remember to spend some time with the little ones this summer- they won't be little forever. Stay safe.
fuck them political bitches, nothings gonna change. they will continue to use and abuse the system and rob tax payers blind.
I was working and saw what happened with Dixon that morning. She never saw the inside of a cell. Was not hand cuffed, instead told to just in a chair and not get up. She used the phone as much as she liked. She looked like a hype wondering back and forth looking through the the front windows of 010 as if looking or waiting for something. The officer that was mentioned that she burned was actually working the desk. She had a Hugh loaded 357 revolver. She was taken to the hospital and NEVER went to lock up that morning. All the while people with 1 bag of dope were climbing on the the bus to the county. What bullshit!!!!!!!
She actually had 2 Foid cards in two different names
It amazes me people aren't more outraged that the Sun-Times disables comments.
It's stories like this that comments serve the public so that unaddressed factors like the possession of a FOID card and outrages, insights and questions can be put forth.
As this article shows, in lieu of the blatant double standard in the charges being dropped against the former alder woman, the reportage on this lush of a woman by the Sun-Times is so superficial, it surely exceeds the approval of the Chicago Ministry of Information.
The disabling of comments is done precisely so there is no conduit for posing unanswered questions and to stifle public dialogue.
The pointed headed trolls that control that paper wrote comments would be reinstated once a means was devised to filter out dissonant, gibberish or offensive posts.
This is the United States of America where free speech reigns and everyone (even the public as crude, boring and offensive as you elites find it) still have the right to speak their mind.
The media have been given special protection under the law in order to cultivate the free flow of ideas and what does it do? It totally abdicates that responsibility.
It sticks its head up the ass of the Chicago Machine.
The media and public school system has been infested with leftist, liberal, union communists chipping away at American Heritage, History and Value for years.
Now they are chipping away at free speech.
I wouldn't piss on you communist douche bags if you were on fire.

All alderman have two officers assigned to them asshat. Stop trying to stir up shit.
She is said to be a crackhead. She was high as a mutha * ucker that morning in 010. In processing room she was high-ding behind her chair scared of everything. She a drug addict with clout. Glad she didn't pull the trigger at the desk crew. We would've suffered a great loss and she probably would have "beat that case!"

Who's the new tact Lt in 11 now?
I heard Sgt Lesner plead guilty in front of the police board. So now what happens?
And Rahm wants to photograph anyone buying a firearm in the soon to come Chicago gun shops.
Restrictions for the peons, bodyguards and weapons for the elite.
Not related ...but how about a reminder post about us getting checkups and physicals done and going to our doctors when feeling something wrong no matter how simple....cpd officers recently dying and impaired from strokes and heart attacks
Which one is dropping the ball on the notification: the judge or the clerk?
(430 ILCS 65/8.1) (from Ch. 38, par. 83-8.1)
Sec. 8.1. Notifications to the Department of State Police.
(a) The Circuit Clerk shall, in the form and manner required by the Supreme Court, notify the Department of State Police of all final dispositions of cases for which the Department has received information reported to it under Sections 2.1 and 2.2 of the Criminal Identification Act.
(b) Upon adjudication of any individual as a mentally disabled person as defined in Section 1.1 of this Act or a finding that a person has been involuntarily admitted, the court shall direct the circuit court clerk to immediately notify the Department of State Police, Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) department, and shall forward a copy of the court order to the Department.
People are getting shot at an amazing rate in Chicago and all Rahm and Garry are worried about is how many tickets have officers issued for pot related offenses. Unbelievable. This is our leadership. Simply put:Pathetic.
Never fails. We are screwed.
Is Ms. Dixon getting a city pension at this time?
Is she getting city paid medical care?
(OT) U.S. Marine 2 tours in Afghanistan being held in Mexican jail, the Mexicans stream across our border we give them free welfare, food, schools, health care but a soldier s treated like this? Hey Obama send SEAL team 6 immediately, thought you were friends with Mexican president, this is unconscionable, maybe we should do the right thing and jail all the illegals and protect our borders is that to much to ask?

Anita belongs to the same corrupt political organization. They are "sisters" first and of course, above the law.
So much for being a nation of laws and not of people

Umm no they don't. At least not on the southwest or northwest sides.

Here we go again, the family, the wife and kids, its all VRI fault.
If this guy has been a det for 23 years there were not alot of OT available then, for sure not VRI. My guess is there were alot more problems with his marriage than VRI. I've known plenty of po's that worked two jobs their whole life, the marriage survived and they had time to coach and do plenty with their kids.

The board sets the penalty. They already rejected McCarthy's recommendation.

I know at least 10 officers that never chased money or worked VRI. They spent time with their families, went on vacations, etc and guess what?
All are divorced. Divorce goes deeper than VRI and chasing money. Some got divorced for the opposite reason. Wife wanted more money and wasn't satisfied with him being home. She wanted a better standard of living. My point is lets drop this VRI and divorce crap. Been reading on the blog for 1 year now about VRI being the root of all evil.
"Hey Obama send SEAL team 6 immediately, thought you were friends with Mexican president, this is unconscionable, maybe we should do the right thing and jail all the illegals and protect our borders is that to much to ask?..."
Why would you have to ask this question? That would be called 'doing your job'...

If that's true, it's been pretty low key.................until this blog at least.
WHY are there two coppers assigned to every Alderman?
Why 50 Aldercrooks?
What good could possibly come from housing another alder-creature. It shall not stop the others from rape, pillage nor plundering the taxpayers of this city.
All alderman have two officers assigned to them asshat. Stop trying to stir up shit.
You are totally full of shit. Know what you are talking about before you open your mouth. Doing so only proves your stupidity.

OT - check your privilege
Seems the majority demographics of Bernstein match the demographics of the top 300 on the new list, which is the opposite of the demographics of cps graduates. City solution? Give cps graduates extra points on test. Deduct points from Bernstein participants, because they had an 'unfair advantage'.... presto change-o new list includes everyone they want!

No, they don't. Burke has some because he had a judge order it. Burke controls the Democratic Central Committee which slates judges for election. They cannot get on the ballot as Democrat if Burke doesn't wave his pinky ring. So, they issue any order Emperor Burke wants.
Just more Chicago Corruption and Double-Standards. What else would anyone expect? Just look who occupies the Fright House. As Chicago goes, so goes the Nation.
I T/T the copper that locked her up. I was pissing my pants when he told me the story!! She is a B with a capital C
I heard Sgt Lesner plead guilty in front of the police board. So now what happens?
5/28/2014 09:23:00 AM
He'll get fired by the police board, appeal it, and get his job back. Bet the house on this.
What a disgusting pile of crap I think of Sharon Dixon. No FOID card? Aldermanic privilege? She was violating a state law and Lisa Madigan should have charged her on that for starters. This state is so corrupt it is sickening. Remember people, when a pol is in the docket and you are on the jury, they are presumed guilty unless they can prove their innocence. And good luck with that.
U.S. Marine 2 tours in Afghanistan being held in Mexican jail
Cause he brought 3 guns into Mexico. Now shut up idiota

Once again, the dumb politicians have used 10 million of our dollars spent on something that should have been at the END of the priority train. "Pork Barrel" money!! Ahh horseshit I say
I believe the writer meant that there were at least two officers assigned to investigate each alderman.
Poster states: "...Burke controls the Democratic Central Committee which slates judges for election. They cannot get on the ballot as Democrat if Burke doesn't wave his pinky ring. So, they issue any order Emperor Burke wants."
Serious question-why the negativeity towards Alderman Burke?
I ask because I do in fact know him personally and members of his family. He comes from a family filled with current or former P/O's and the Alderman himself-former CPD.
His wife, a spectacular woman who as a Judge made milestone changes throughout her career.
He co-authored 'End of Watch', a fine and honorable tribute to the Chicago Police Department especially the CPD hero's who made the ultimate sacrifice.
What has he ever done to hurt any Chicago P/O or Firefighter? Please be respectful and specific if you have a response and be sure it is fact and not media bashing or speculation.
To the haters, I wish you the opportunity to actually meet and have conversation with the Alderman and then report back on your thoughts. But to those who know him...well, we are certainly a lucky group.
To Alderman Burke, with deep respect for your career in City Government. You have made City Hall a finer branch of Government and your continued efforts keeping a lid on issues past, present and in the future are most certainly appreciated.
All alderman have two officers assigned to them asshat. Stop trying to stir up shit.
None of the six aldermen covering my district have any POs assigned to them.

***Swallow and Get off your knees
This is pathetic. She should be locked up.
Well, does Dixon get a City pension and free City paid medical care?
she does appear to be well into the nut case category. maybe 90 days in a nut house will help her.
it is possible the SA office felt there was not much chance of a jury convicting her and figured this was about the best they could do.
Did this crazy bitch actually have the hots for D.W.?
