Bodies Continue to Pile Up

  • Six people were killed and at least 20 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Saturday afternoon.

In the most recent fatal shooting, a 33-year-old man was killed in the Austin neighborhood.
Who's leading the homicide race anyway? We haven't seen a District breakdown recently.

OT - Remember the piss and shit water that sat in the 1st district men's locker room for days a week or so ago, well now the building is infested with sewer flies. It is so bad in the lock up processing room that its impossible to work in there without them getting in your eyes, ears or nose. Third world conditions for sure!

As of yesterday early evening, 011 leads the pack with 19 kilt.

Funny tangent: the lions share of those sent to 2121 W. Harrison hail from Jason Ervin's 28th Ward utopia.

I briefly glanced at the stats and know that 011 leads by 7... I forget which district was #2 (006 or 003??).

Either way, there wasn't one person shot where I live. Helll, there were no 'shots fired' calls within a 5 mile radius of where I hang my hat, either. Not to mention that my unit doesn't require responding to calls for service.

Carry on, savages.

Hey SCC, I tried to help. The city cancelled my three day weekend to work in Englewood, but I'm slow to react. I have thirty years on the job and am over weight by at least fifty pounds, but I still tried. I wrote two contact cards and wrote an ANOV on an eighty-three year old for drinking on the public way. I still believe this years Memorial weekend shootings and homocides surpassed last years numbers. It was fun, I got to speed around with my blue lights on to in-progress calls, even though I never made it to the calls. The money and comp. I'm getting for this OT will help me in retirement at the end of this year. Thank You Rahm, he really cares about the kids.

---> *Six Dead, At Least 20 Wounded In Weekend Shootings* <---
'Six people were killed and at least 20 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Saturday afternoon. ~~~snip~~~ In the weekend’s first shooting, Kenneth Anthony, 31, was killed ... in the Englewood neighborhood. They were standing in the 6900 block of South Emerald Avenue about 3:42 p.m. Saturday ...'

Huh? What did I miss? Since when does 'The Weekend' start on Saturday? It's always started on Friday like say after 5:00 p.m., especially when it's a holiday weekend. That's how all previous crimes were in the MSM: Friday night, Saturday, Sunday & Monday -- aka; 'a long weekend'. Though in some news outlets like the Slum-Times they've been...uh...*losing* Sundays in some of the murder-shooting reports of late.

Then again, if you eliminate Friday Night murders & shootings that sure will make the violence in Chiraq appear to be lower than it actually is. Then, if you lose some Sunday's along the way, then Whala!, it's Saturday only and crime would *appear* to be at "Historic Lows"(LOL). And hell, Flaming Tutu and McSh-tForBrains would really love that, yes siree, they sure would kiddies. Hmm??? Now could Tiny Dancer and McCluless have gotten to the crack journalists in Chi and 'asked them' for some help in pushing their phony 'Crime Is Down' bullshit?

Nah, that's silly. Journalists would never go along with that. Journalists have scruples. Especially in Chicago. (rotflmao)

Meanwhile...

Anyone notice an increase number of street corner preachers lately?

Oh, they look like politicians with their white shirts and short hair. Spread out about one mile apart in some areas of the city.

Out there preaching about once you're in hell you never get out.

Preaching to people in this city that are currently living in hell.

Must be a part of a Rahm and Gary intuitive designed to instill fear and terror into the children.

reminds me of:

They taught the law but did not practice some of the most important parts of the law — justice, mercy, faithfulness to God. They obeyed the minutiae of the law such as titheing spices but not the weightier matters of the law. (Matt 23:23-24)

If Matt 23:23-24 doesn't sum up Garry McCarthy's "Broken Windows" crime fighting methodology I don't know what does.

Obama too. DOJ frauds, Investment banking frauds, weightier matters of the law and no-one going to jail for that. Just a small fine and carry on. Piss in public or some other bullshit and YOU MUST BE SENT A MESSAGE.

Making a mockery out of the US constitution and any oaths.

Oh yeah. The oath is not binding unless you bring sacrificial offerings of gold said the pharisees. Bring those campaign contributions if you want the pensions saved and the bill of rights honored..lol.

They taught that an oath sworn by the temple or altar was not binding, but that if sworn by the gold ornamentation of the temple, or by a sacrificial gift on the altar, it was binding. The gold and gifts, however, were not sacred in themselves as the temple and altar were, but derived a measure of lesser sacredness by being connected to the temple or altar. The teachers and Pharisees worshipped at the temple and offered sacrifices at the altar because they knew that the temple and altar were sacred. How then could they deny oath-binding value to what was truly sacred and accord it to objects of trivial and derived sacredness? (Matt 23:16-22)

I'm not a very religious but damn the "Woes of the Pharisees" and the political leaders in charge, damn, can't say we were not warned.

The below email was received from Bernstein (26 May).

Just so everyone knows Bernstein files FOIAs to gain info from the city . . .

Hello everyone,

I wanted to update you on what I'm hearing in regards to exams. Here's what I was recently told.

1. Sergeants Exam Results

The City plans to notify all candidates of the results within the next 3 weeks. That is their plan.

2. Detectives Exam

CPD bosses really wanted to give the exam late this year. However, the Mayor's office is the one who sets the when. It looks like it won't happen now until 2015.

3. Lieutenants Exam

Consultants hired by the City have been actively working to update the job analyses. The company picked to do the lieutenants exam is very good. It's a different company than the one that did the sergeants exam. The City is still tentatively planning to give Part 1 in the Fall. However, there is no firm date yet. It's very much in flux.

I will continue to track all 3 and provide updates when I hear something.

All the best,

Dr. Jeff Bernstein

At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population.

OT NY mayor drops stop and frisk appeal

In her ruling, Scheindlin said the NYPD’s application of stop-and-frisk policing amounted to a “policy of indirect racial profiling,” saying cops routinely stopped “blacks and Hispanics who would not have been stopped if they were white.”

The deal announced Thursday is not final.

City police unions have until Feb. 7 to file any objections, and the city has until Feb. 14 to reply.

Giuliani, who filed a legal brief supporting Bloomberg’s appeal, said it was a mistake to halt the appeals process.

In all seriousness, most of the time regular old glasses are acceptable on the job. Periodically, you must be able to actively not see some things right in front of you while clearly seeing things that are nearly invisible to others. Last and most important vision req is that you must be able to read between the lines.

"Lousy, listless, inept, and woeful"

These are words used by Chicago Sports Columnists regarding the Blackhawks during the playoffs.

These Hawks are the classiest group of guys ever assembled on a Chicago team. In my opinion, they are undeserving of ANY criticism.

Its sad what sports and sports writing has evolved into.

If Telander, Morriseey and the rest of you are reading this...Fuck Off!!

It's obvious you are not a hockey player, and barely a hockey fan. The Hawks look like a minor league team these last 3 games. Kane and Sharp have been non-factors, Saad finally hit the scoresheet in G4 but has been quiet all series, and bad penalties are killing them. LA's defense is getting uncontested shots, leading to goals, the Hawks' power play is anemic, and they look like they're going through the motions. Crawford can't see through Carter, and they can't move him. He's a mountain. Only Toews and to a lesser extent, Bickell, seem to have some fire. Too many passes, too few shots, not enough adjustments to LA's pressuring style. I'm not a bandwagon fan, 'cuz it's the hip place to be. Been a season ticket holder for years. I also play the game. Lousy, listless, inept and woeful is dead on.

No joke, In regards to vision exam for CPD as long as you can see with glasses/contacts you will be fine. If you are color blind, I believe you will be disqualified.

"Listen to all those politicians calling for knife bans and more stringent background checks and waiting times to buy knives.. You hear them? Listen..."

These sudden mass knife attacks are copycats of the widely-publicized separatist assaults in China.

No one but police/military can have guns, so the hacken und hauen begins...

Get a grip. The Blackhawks might be classy guys, but asking sports columnists to not mention that they are pretty lousy right now is one of the goofiest things I've ever heard.

Hello, I'm in the process for CPD; all joking aside can someone tell me if there is a vision requirement and what it is? I wear contacts/glasses and can't see without them. Thanks.

As long as you have glasses your fine and you pass all the tests. You cant be discriminated against because of your vision. There is one guy that is blind as a bat without his glasses.

Without glasses it does not matter.

WITH glasses or contacts 20/40 is okay.

Don't worry.. CPD is VERY lenient on vision requirements unlike the suburb's.

You're OK as long as your vision is corrected by the contacts.

011 can't lead the city in homicides because they have the ultra cool rough and tough Commander Evans there! What a hand job this guy is, he has no idea what the westside is. Listen boss people have been standing on the corners for centuries in 011, writing them ANOV's isn't going to stop it. Funny but when he first got here everyone was gung-ho about having him, now he calls for a car and it's crickets. His tough guy routine is already grown old and the troops can see through his BS.

1st and 16th Only!

Just don't be color blind. We don't want you writing red light tickets when the stop light was green.

I worked VRI yesterday. Sure I missed my family but I made $54 per hour. I made a killing!

5/27/2014 09:23:00 AM

Ok Mr. no-time-on-the-job. Rahm and McNutty sure do appreciate u exhausting yourself.

Get over this crap. Exhausting yourself? We are talking VRI here sitting in a car. Exhausting yourself, you pussy. What would you do if you ever had to work a real physical job.
During NATO the whole CPD was working 12 hr days and longer. How did they survive all being so exhausted.
